Stormy had become quite the expert at throttling the annoying fish Pokemon that spawned in Fontaine. Since learning PSYCHIC, she had quickly learned how to pluck them out of the water with the ability and FREEZE-DRY them to death not long after. The length needed to cast her spells was growing shorter and shorter with every level she rose.[break][break]

She could literally feel herself getting stronger and it felt damn good.[break][break]

Of course, she would quickly realise the error of her strategy if she ever plucked an entire Wailord or something.. but still. For now, it seemed to be working just fine.

The pink outline of her PSYCHIC brings up a wiggling Mantyke and she shrieks - vividly remembering her wicked chase scene with Kazimir Wynter. She momentarily drops the baby flying fish, only to catch it again hastily and make quick work of it with FREEZE-DRY. Given its smallness and lack of strength in comparison to its evolved counterpart, the battle is easily won.[break][break]

Stormy breathes a sigh of relief, removing her free hand from clutching her chest from fright. She didn't know what it was about fish that could fly, but she seriously couldn't deal with Mantyke's and Mantine's. They gave her the heebie jeebies.

She can feel something gnawing at her ankles. At first it tickles, but the sensation quickly turns to pain as she reactively swipes at her heels, crying out in surprise as teeth graze her skin. Virtual blood seeps from the wound as she kicks at the Basculin and its razor sharp teeth.[break][break]

"You asshole!"[break][break]

And then she rinses and repeats her strategy of PSYCHIC and FREEZE-DRY, shattering the Basculin and all of its teeth into a million pixel pieces.

No sooner than she had dealt with the teeth in her ankle, she soon found herself being literally thrown back and forth in the water. It all happened so fast that she could feel herself drowning, and for a moment she was actually too stunned to even scream.[break][break]

Is this what it had been like for the people fighting the giant Tentacruel's during the ranger raids? Damn.[break][break]

Whenever she breaks the surface and water streams off of her face, she manages to gasp for air and reach for her wand. Eventually, she finds her opportunity to stop the Tentacruel dead with a PSYCHIC hold on the tentacle wrapped around her leg. The Pokemon's grip slackens and she falls, and she continues to assault the terrifying Pokemon with more PSYCHIC attacks.[break][break]

Eventually, the Tentacruel stops fighting because it's dead, and Stormy breathes a sigh of relief. Thank god.
