Amber eyes find Emma's gold in the dim light — Gavin's sharp look is tempered by a silent understanding. This man had caused her some level of difficulty in the past, and he knew all too well the temptations of revenge.[break][break]

As Valentine stumbles over frantic pleas, Gavin returns his gaze to their quarry.[break][break]

"You won't be harmed." His voice is low, yet soft — he does not raise it, for he does not have to. "If you cooperate."[break][break]

Gavin's Greninja scuttles along the ceiling, suctioned toes allowing it to idle above their target. The Porygon's pokeball is retrieved from Gavin's belt, and he releases the creature to hover in front of its former master. Perhaps it was cruel to take pleasure in Chad Valentine's evident horror upon realizing the blackmail material they had on him, but...[break][break]

"Rocket wants you alive." A smirk curls his lips. He inclines his head toward Emma. "She wants you dead. If you so much as think about running, or going to the authorities..."[break][break]

He trails off, allowing the threat to be implied.[break][break]

He meets Emma's gaze. A compromise.

Emma catches Gavin's eye, but she makes no indication she is relaxed by it. Rather, she merely grits her teeth and allows the man to take the lead, if only to prevent her own embarrassment later. The man deserved nothing but justice in whatever form that may be. She would prefer his his head on a pike, but if Gavin insisted, or rather, would prefer his skills be put to use elsewhere for Rocket's benefit... then she would have to agree.[break][break]

And so, she listens with guarded disdain as the target practically wets himself in her presence. It was satisfying to note how much fear she could instill merely by crossing her arms and tucking her chin. The lean helps too, she gathers.[break][break]

Ultimately, their situation with the man ends in his pleas for mercy and his promise that he would do whatever was asked of him. It didn't take much, considering the weight of the blackmail they had on him. They even keep the man's Porygon, refusing to return it. I mean, after all, wouldn't that be redundant?[break][break]

Gavin finds her gaze again and she holds it for only a moment, clearly still considering her other option. Regardless, the deed is done, and they walk away with a pretty League official in their back pocket.
