Izumi was going to get a stern talking-to later. But that was later. For now, Josh was here to have a good time with his kids and let them get to experience the wonders of Pokemon for themselves. And by the looks of it, they were already getting into the spirit of it. Josh couldn't help but smile big as he watched his kids fawn over one Pokemon after another. Apparently Lyra wanted all of the Pokemon. Well, at least they liked Pokemon, he couldn't complain about that.

Though when she asked her brother about what kind of Pokemon he wanted, he paused for a moment. He then looked back at his parents, and at Lightning, before asking...

"Is there a water Pikachu?"

If Josh had been drinking, he would have snorted it out.

At those words, Izumi froze.

A nervous chuckle escaped her, before she looked over where Josh stood. Did she—did she just hear that right?

Inside her mind, she was screaming and flipping all manner of tables; however on the outside she was just—a blank face of what appeared to be stoic calm. Keep it in, keep it down, she thought as she turned to face their children once more.

“No, there is no such thing as a water-type Pi—Pi—Pikachu.”

Hell, she even stammered when she mentioned the Pokémon’s name.

What the fresh hell.

Josh lost it laughing.

He was overjoyed to hear that his son had taken an interest in the Electric Mouse, but the look on Izumi's face made it even better. But the suddenness of it! He couldn't help but lose it. He tried, he really did. He covered his mouth, but it was too laugh to hold in the complete, absolute sputtering laughter. And then he had to do it. He had to expand on it.

"Actually, there is. They nicknamed it Pikablu" Josh suddenly revealed, and holy hell did the kid's head snap towards him at record speeds when he said that. "They call them Marill. You want to see if we can find any Marill at the aquarium? If we can't find any, I'm sure I can find some videos" Josh offered to the kids, who were taken in at the revelation of this mythical "Pikablu".

At that reaction, the look on Izumi’s face was—one for the ages.

Fucking classic.

Resisting the urge to walk over and smack Josh upside the head, she instead settled for crossing her arms over her chest and giving him the most pointed eye roll she could fucking muster.

Men, she thought in the back of her mind as she resisted the urge to drag her palms down her face in plain sight of the kids, who were now practically crowding around Josh and hammering him with questions about this ‘legendary’ “Pikablu”.

She could only sigh at what he’d done in response.

Oy vey.

The kids, young as they were, had the tendency to believe whatever came out of their mouths (they’re at the point they soak everything up like a sponge, okay) and therefore… the reaction.
