With flair and charm, Jonathan Aquil entered the safari institution with his trusted partner grumpig. Eyeing the personnel who was manning the counter, he nodded with some recognition as his grumpig threw in his league card. His picture was a lot younger than what he looked like in real life, but it was enough for the counter guy to allow him entrance to the esteemed safari zone of Hoenn.

It was still an hour short of noontime and it was perfect for a little pokémon hunting and a picnic.

It was his first time to enter the safari zone premises and he was surprised to see a familiar figure in the shape of a scyther. He was cautious, however, for he heard how incredible sharp their razors are enough to cut down trunks of trees. That would explain the prticular aesthetics of the area, Jonathan would say.

And so he allowed his grumpig to use CONFUSE RAY on the insect, the pearls from its body emitted rainbow-colored light enough to incapacitate its opponent and give his trainer time to act and throw a safari ball.

The dreepy was more familiar to Jonathan—or Valerio—for he took care of one from an egg to now an adult dragapult. This one was in the wild was calmer than his Darty. The trainer and his grumpig went on to find a good spot for picnic.

Past the wild dreepy, a tyrogue followed the pair with a very taunting demeanor. As if challenging Jonathan’s grumpig to heed his challenge, the hog pokémon blasted the fighting-type with its PSYSHOCK before sending it to a deep sleep.

The pair continued their walk.

There was an explosion.

No. Not exactly an explosion, but a burst of energy from its head. A psyduck waddled its way towards the pair, attacked the grumpig with its PSYBEAM which the hog successfuly fended with its MAGIC COAT. Jonathan had no intention to catch the psyduck, but his safari ball fell from his belt and fount its way rolling into the yellow avian’s foot. Before he knew it, red light surrounded the psyduck and all he could do was wait.

Sobbles were kind of rare from where Jonathan—Valerio—came from, but not as rare as any other region where the man had been to. They were kind of staples in Galar, a customary starting pokémon guide for trainers across the region. It was such a delight that these Galarian imports had made their way into the safari zone.

Jonathan ordered the grumpig with a CONFUSE RAY—and was the sobble was incapacitated enough, the man threw his third safari ball.

Grumpig spotted a decent spot nearby a place by the lakeside and started psyching picnic stuff with its powers. Jonathan joined his partner and began setting up the table and the basket filled with berries and curry. From a distance, the chimchar who just smelled the luscious scent of the food joined them for the meal. With so much delight to the monkey, Valerio nudged it with the safari ball button, waiting for it to catch.
