The junkyard smelled of oil and rust. Somehow, she could taste it on the tongue.[break][break]

Bailey Cooper set down Piggie Smalls, giving the Spoink enough space to do his stretches—tiny limbs raised as high as they could go as he bounced in place. His target was the rusted heap of a sports car. Its tarnished yellow paint made it stand out from the wreckage.[break][break]

This was going to be a simple training exercise. Something for the Spoink to bash and destroy without much thought.[break][break]

She glanced back to Lucas and crossed her hands behind her head. “Ready?”[break][break]

Lucas shook some mint tic tacs into his hand when met up with Bailey. He puts them in his mouth then holds the near-full container towards Bailey. "Mint?"

While Lucas tried to drown out the junkyard smell that perverted his mouth his pokemon got to work. Cacnea shot out pin missiles that puncture the side of the car and shatter glass. Lucas couldn't help but feel he chose his pokemon poorly.

"So Bailey, when'd you get that tattoo under your neck?" Lucas asked as he juggled the mints in his mouth.

Piggie Smalls waited for her to look in his direction before he would execute his next attack. this time, he opted for a focused psyshock to rattle the frame and weaken its hull. Just to encourage him, she would whistle like a spectator for a sport's game. "Give 'em hell!"[break][break]

Her attention switched back to Lucas. "Why? One of them look cool?"[break][break]

Lucas crushed one of the tic tacs in his mouth in mild frustration. He knew that Bailey understood him. She wasn't as stupid as his stories would have people believe.

He'd like to think so at least.

"Sorry the scar under your neck." Lucas corrected himself. "Did you get that during Mossdeep too, or a little bit after?" He prods for more information. "I've got a similar one," he quickly added lest Bailey continued her ignorance.

Cacnea followed Piggie Small's lead and continued its onslaught on the truck. Thin black pins ejected from its body and puncture the same spot as before.

She would smile when Piggie Smalls turned, thumbs up with support. "Don't go overboard, okay?" Only for him to huff and turn back around to continue with his practice--he was keen to refuse his limits, and maybe she had that in common with the strange spoink.[break][break]

"I feel it burn sometimes, but... scars do weird shit like that. I got enough pins in my elbow to know. Sometimes, things just never feel the same."[break][break]

After the car door collapses inwards from the pin missile Cacnea walked to Lucas. It looked at him expectantly till he gave it two strawberry block. Lucas pointed towards the car. "Keep on attacking." He handed cacnea another berry block to help persuade it. Without hesitation it goes straight back to work demolishing the abandoned vehicle.

"Does it hurt a lot?" Lucas fell silent for a moment. He remembered the mind numbing pain he went through when he was branded with the mark. "I got mine after the pokemon died. But the pain from the mark was something else. Afterwards though I saw some things." He stopped for a moment to gather his thoughts. "Did the pokemon ever tell you anything when you were running?"

Already receiving its promised reward for helping out cacnea grew lazy. All it wanted now was a long rest in its pot at home. Begrudgingly it continued to attack the abandoned vehicle. Each attack had less strength & vigor behind it than the last.

"I guess it did."

When Bailey mentioned feeling heated Lucas nodded and thought back to the vision he had. Of Bailey battling cait alfric with fire radiating from the victory star mark.

"Well if you ever feel something more than that coming on let me know." The words are sincere. "Anyway," he changed the abruptly. "How goes the elite four battles? Many promising people at all?"
