"did you know that scyther is the most badass kanto-native pokemon?"

priam lifts the pokemon's arm and swings it as if it's priam's weapon. "it can go like- shwing!" priam then moves to its back, spreading the pokemon's wings for marcel to see. "and it can also fly! what do you do when a flying fucker like this goes for you? nothing, cause you're dead!"

he concludes the talk by finally leaving his poor pokemon alone. it stares at priam in contempt, but it knows it can't do anything because he's his trainer.

"that's the shit i learn from the professor!"

"yeah! it's, like, the perfect replica of his speech too."

he turns around, scouting for pokemon, and sees a bronzor floating around. he claps his hands together, rubs his palms, and then points at it for both marcel and his scyther to see.

"watch this! i'll give you a good demonstration, courtesy of yours truly." he gives a slight bow, as if readying for a show, and then quickly snaps back for his scyther. "sic 'em, boy!"

the scyther, just grateful that priam's done with playing with him, dashes quickly to the bronzor. its scythes cuts it with one fury cutter after the other until its defenses couldn't keep up with it anymore.

"and that's how it's done!"

priam ends the presentation with a strong pitch of the pokeball. a metallic clink sounds as two metals collide, one of them absorbing the other within.

he half expects the pokeball to miss, and has to admit he's impressed when it doesn't. a scizor launches at them from behind, only to be met with a mighty FLAMETHROWER. doused in flames, the pokemon drops to the ground. marcel moves a couple steps away from it.

"yeah!" he answers enthusiastically. "here's another example!"

priam spots a forretress that has been lounging on the corner of his vision. propped up against a tree, it shows itself as a prime target for another demonstration.

"scyther--" he halts himself as he turns to his pokemon. figuring he wouldn't be doing much against a forretress, he recalls it back to its pokeball and calls out another one. "arcee, flame burst!"

the pokemon wakes up from its slumber when a canine enters the field, spewing fire at its direction. it panics, spinning in place a few times to fend the embers off before it's panic is ended with a throw of a pokeball.

"he also taught me explosions are cool. i'm getting this one for them. do you like explosions too?"

priam takes the pokeball from the ground and tries to scan it with a pokedex app on his phone. "this thing doesn't even have explosion! i've been scammed!"

priam whips his head to marcel with an open mouth, appearing to have been offended.

"wh- no! i'm super smart with my decisions!" he retaliates. "even if this one had explosion, i wouldn't have used it, like, turn one!"

the aggression calms down eventually as priam turns to marcel for another curious question.

"when's the right time to have it explode then?"

"last resort, huh?" as soon as the words leave his mouth, priam finds another one that has the possibility to explode. "look, a ferroro!" he calls, referencing the tower's ferroseed floor.

the arcanine gets his mane tugged to the direction of the pokemon, which it promptly shots with flame burst to stop his trainer from bugging him further. it drops the wild pokemon with its stacked weakness against fire-type moves and priam follows it up with a pokeball.

"do you have some pokemon that explodes? you know, for a last resort or something?" he asks, waiting for the pokeball to affirm capture. "i can give you the forretress if you want!"

except the forretress doesn't actually know explosion just yet.

considering priam's question, he motions for vega to take down the nearby machamp. "maybe? i don't think so." the tower challenge was probably the most he'd looked at his pokemon collection, to tell the truth. marcel always forgot to release the ones he didn't need. when priam continues, he turns back to him. "oh, no thanks. i'm good. it's not really my style."

he realises too late that taking the pokemon now would have probably saved him a lot of future stress.
