It was too dark for Katherine's taste. She didn't fear the shadows and actually preferred to hunt during night time, but still, sometimes things were simply too much. This was one of those times, wasn't it?

Her hand dips into her back to retrieve a Pokeball, and from within it, a Mismagius emerged. Morgana can't help but sport her familiar, devilish smirk. She ushered in the dark and at times when people felt uncomfortable. "Do you mind making it a bit easier to see here, Morgana?"

Despite feeling reluctant to follow the order of her trainer, the witch-like pokemon is eventually convinced and creates a small orb of fire to float nearby, illuminating the path somewhat.

"This will do, thanks."

"Does the dark frighten you?" the darkness seems to ask, cloaked in shadow and illusions. There is nothing to be seen but everything to be heard through the magic her pokemon weaves.

Bare feet dance across the dirt in the dark, the illusion fades like a curtain being pulled back to reveal porcelain skin cloaked in a sleek black dress. She does not fit the area, appearance as out of place as her dance is in the dark. The pokemon that follows behind her seems to grin, the Zoroark is undeniably pleased with herself.

Isra eyes the other woman with a playful grin. "Or perhaps it entices you too much, something better kept at bay?"

The flaming orb grows slightly in size to illuminate the area further at the sound of a voice. Isra's words are heard but not registered immediately. Katherine can't help but narrow her eyes and search for the person they belonged to, and it's only when the illusion is lifted that she's able to spot the culprit.

"I am afraid the answer is neither."

"The list of things that scare me is a short one." Morgana almost sneers at the Zoroark when she's revealed, clearly not too fond of the species itself. "But it's not every day that I find someone waiting for me in the shadows. I was a little startled, I guess."

And it's how Isra so easily earns Katherine's name.

"I am Katherine. You can call me Kat."

"Is it now?" the woman grins, playful, taunting, her eyes say she doesn't quite believe her. She makes no move to challenge her however.

She pays little mind to her fox moving past her, honing in on the scent of a pokemon. The zox in quick to find it while they speak, the clash of claws and buzzing wings enough to say as such. "They call me Isra, most often." she says, as the fox returns with the unconcious combee.

"And she is layla." she retrieves a pokeball, claiming the little bug as her own.

Was it? Katherine's expression remains neutral and not a hint of amusement stains her features. The grin of the other woman managed to strike a nerve. It was annoying and almost mocking in a way that the Rocketess didn't appreciate.

Her attention is stolen by the Zoroark when she returns with a Combee. It was a quick battle and despite it being a wild pokemon, it was somewhat impressive. It's certainly more than what Kat expects to see from a trainer she meets at the dead of the night.

"This is Morgana." The Mismagius levitated to the front so both Isra and her partner can catch a better look at her. She enjoyed the attention.

"Good." the chuckle is light on her lips, barely there beneath the night. Like it comes from somewhere not quite here and not quite there. Her grin doesn't change. "The dark is a silly thing to be afraid of anyway."

There is a hop and a skip, feet taking her out in front of the other woman, turning on her toes to see her face a little more clearly. Walking backwards seems easy enough an act on her. "But what brings you out into the dark to begin with, hm?"

The zoroark comes to a stop but Isra doesn't wait for her, the pokemon swats at her snout, the small pokemon dancing around her face making her go cross eyed. It is only when the little bug starts to glow that she slaps it between her paws, capturing it and the light between them for a second before throwing the pokemon at the ground. Isra tosses the ball offhandedly, head tilting to the side at her nights companion (if one could call her such a thing) as if the occurrence were nothing at all.

It doesn't sound like the most believable reason for Katherine to spend her night here, in the wild, where packs of untamed pokemon often roamed. But she sticks to it, perhaps because there is more than a grain of truth in her statement. "It happens sometimes."

Morgana can't help but snicker when the glowing bug is slapped by the fox. And the sound of her laughter draws Katherine's attention as well, who then spares a glance in the direction to where the Pokeball is thrown. "I figured that there's no time better than now to get some practice in." When she first began to challenge gyms, it was to assess her own skills. Now it proved to be an excellent excuse that she could use quite often.

"I am going to challenge my fifth gym soon, so I guess I just want to be ready."

The smile she offers is manufactured, but also seemingly well-trained. It's hard to discern whether if she was just that good or it isn't her first time selling this story.

No sleep. Gyms. Isra chuckles but it lacks any clear hint of wat she means by it. Neither amused nor mocking, the sound is well practiced. Perfectly timed.

The doll dances backwards, her strings being pulled this way and that. If there is reason behind her movements and steps it is hard to see. "And you choose here, of all places?" she asks.

In truth she thinks it a stupid decision, judgement falls as heavy as the silence in her eyes. She won't let on how little she thinks at the prospect. But little she does.

The buzzing of a flying Scyther draws both the attention of Katherine and her Mismagius. A careful glance inspects the bug-type until the decision settles in her mind and the woman decides to act.

"That one, Morgana." The Rocketess doesn't move to gesture at the dual-type. Her gaze merely lingers on the Scyther as it continues to fly, akin to a Wingull on a warm summer night. The ruby gems of the ghost-type glow, and it's a matter of moments before three different beams connect with the Scyther and bring him down to the ground.

"This seemed like a good place," Katherine finally offers a response, when she allows her eyes to shift towards Isra once more. A Pokeball is hurled towards the Scyther, but she makes no movement to collect it. "I figured it'd be quiet." It wasn't.

Quiet perhaps it might have been, had she not arrived. Or perhaps not, with how the pokemon were buzzing about tonight. It was always a little of both, Isra found. Especially if you were in the kind of places she tended to be found.

"Nothing at all."

Truth or lies doesn't matter, the twirl in her step brings her front facing again. The lullaby light on her lips fills in the space by her short reply to the inquiry, a sound overshadowed by the clamor of the pokemon. Her own seeks to trade claws with another, strikes and parries almost amusing but Isra seems to pay it no mind. At least not until a well timed blow from her own fells the weasel pokemon. She tosses a ball quite nonchalantly.

"Do i need a reason to be out?" she says without turning to look at the woman again.
