Perhaps it's the Gardevoir's motherly aura that catches the attention of a Duosion that had been floating by. She spares a moment to bend down and greet it when it approaches her with a mewl. Gently poking its bubble, Agnés giggles.

When Remiel turns over his shoulder and catches sight of this, however, he swiftly brings the short encounter to an end. "Leave it. This is no time for making friends." And, of course, Agnés settles right back into her pout as she straightens in posture and sighs. Continuing to follow her master, she looks and offers the Duosion a smile and a wave goodbye before they disappear from view.

As the pair continued up the ridge, sweating and panting for breath, the Duosion appeared out from behind a small conglomerate of rocks to quietly greet the Gardevoir once more. But this time, he brought a friend. How they managed to pass Remiel so quickly and this high up was baffling, especially considering the new friend was a Slowpoke of all things. But Agnés smiled and bent down to greet them anyway, patting the creature.

It responded by uttering a dull but content moan, summoning a pool of water all around it with one of its abilities, Surf. Marveling at the sight, the Gardevoir was happy to ignore the fact that the water was touching its feet in favor of quenching her thirst instead. Just as she scooped some up in her hands, however, Remiel's shadow came to loom over them like a dark omen. "Drop it." He uttered in a slightly severe tone, effortlessly convincing the Gardevoir to do just that.


And, with that, they were off again. But not before Agnés straightened in posture and angrily stomped a single foot in protest. What an ARSE!


Remiel responded as he walked on, casting a lazy wave backward. "Now come along before I leave you behind." Eventually, with a sad sigh, Agnés cast the pair of wild pokémon a wave goodbye and went along with her trainer.

The picnic area was within sight. Shade! Water! Rest! It was only minutes away. But, at this point, both pokémon and trainer were exhausted. The heat of the Jagged Pass, and its rocky terrain, had taken a toll on their bodies. The last stretch was a slog, and one that was soon interrupted by a being that called this place home: an Infernape.

It didn't seem to like that they were headed towards the pleasant spot by the cliff. If one had to hazard a guess, it considered said spot part of its territory. When it leapt off from the rock's edge it stood on, however, intent on delivering a swift pair of kicks to the Gardevoir, it quickly came to realize it was in over its head. Particularly when it suddenly came to a stop in mid-air, held aloft by Agnés' Psychic.

With a wave of her hand, the frustrated and tired Gardevoir slammed the Infernape against the side of the cliff face, knocking it unconscious almost immediately. Pleased to see she could deliver such a powerful attack despite the conditions, Remiel waited for her to glance at him before offering a nod of approval. And, for the first time during this entire journey, she smiled at him. Before long, they'd attain their picnic and celebrate.
