"so ya really think you can beat me eh? i'm sorry but who was it that won our gym battle?" kazimir teased as he rolled his entire arm in a circle as he held a pokeball before punching it into his open palm and gave stormy a smug grin. their little beach date turned a bit sour when the topic of battling was brought up. so naturally teh only way to fi this was having a battle of their own to settle their differences. hopefully stormy wouldn't take it so hard when he wins.

"how about we up the ante eh storms? loser buys winner lunch, and i should warn you. a battle works up the appetite." he teased as he patted his stomach that was tightly hugged by his tank top before throwing the ball out into the sandy beaches and out popped his clawizter. the lobster clamped its large claw to show off the size and strength of it just like his trainer. "no hard feelings though, right?"

"You're really cocky, you know that? That gym battle was months and months ago. You're looking at an elite four now, Bucko."[break][break]

She's heated - he'd probably said something to tick her off, boasting about how strong he was or something, it wasn't all that hard to set her off. She's a literal hothead.[break][break]

"Oh, I know. I'm already starved. Get ready to pay up, Kaz."[break][break]

The man releases a Clawitzer and she releases her Gabite. The young Pokemon hadn't seen a lot of action since she had evolved. It was time to stretch her newly grown wings - or blades. Whatever they were.[break][break]

Stormy takes the first move then, ordering the Gabite to DIG.

as the gabite dug into the ground kaz knew he was in trouble. he had to pick one of his mmons that really only knew how to hit hard and not protect itself. maybe she was write that he was a bit dense about setting up a pokemon's moves. either way he had a plan and ordered his clawitzer to aim its claw down and with a powerful stream of water used aqua jet to gain some air. "now hit it when it comes up with a hadoken-i-i mean aura sphere!" from within the air the lobster aimed his claw at the ground and gathered his aura into the claw's mouth before an orb took shape and it was fired off with extra help thanks to its ability mega launcher to increase its power.

Sand flies and Stormy raises an arm to protect herself from swallowing a mouthful of the stuff. She still spits and gasps, sand cracking between her teeth thanks to Gabite's enthusiasm.[break][break]

"Careful when you come up!"[break][break]

But honestly, the Pokemon didn't really need the warning. She can feel the vibrations of the AQUA JET pushing the Clawitzer off of the sand and into the air. There's a moment of momentum as the Gabite bursts out of the ground to attack - only to find that she's missed. There's nothing in place of the AQUA JET.[break][break]

No matter. She changes direction mid-jump, pushing herself into a DRAGON RUSH to meet and blast through the AURA SPHERE. It hurts, but she's healthy enough to push through it to try and slam him with her body, full force.

stormy seemed to have a knack for picking up stubborn pokemon as while her gabite missed his clawitzer it didn't stop the dragon from jumping up and knocking him out of the air with a dragon rush and eating the aura sphere like it was a soft cookie. "don't back down now! water pulse that lizard!" as the clawiter landed onto the sand with a thud he quickly rolled over and fired off a large blast of water at the dragon type in a water pulse that would be sure to sting it greatly.

Mmm.. cookies. That sounded delicious right about now.[break][break]

The Gabite's body slams full-force into the Clawitzer, effectively bringing both of them down to the ground. While she lands a perfect superhero pose, she is unprepared for the following WATER PULSE.[break][break]

It blasts her backward but she holds her ground, water beading off of her shiny shell. Thanks to her dragon-typing, the move had regular effect. Perfect.[break][break]

And so she rushes again, this time aiming to SLASH.

despite the boosted power the move seemed to have not as effective effect on the dragon as kaz would have hoped. guess it was time to change tactics. "rockbuster! hit 'em right in the gut!" the clawitzer eyed the gabite as it came charging right at it. holding up its large claw the lobster waited for the dragon to swipe at it before smacking it away with its large claw and aiming a dragon pulse right into its torso and firing it off.

That thing knew a dragon-type move? Had that just slipped her mind? Damn it.[break][break]

Gabite is blasted off her feet, clearing several feet as the DRAGON PULSE landed her square in the chest. She tumbles and twists in the sand, kicking it up as she tries to find purchase and come to a halt. There's a burning mark against her shell that she growls at.[break][break]

"It's alright, walk it off, walk it off. Sand tomb!"[break][break]

The dual-type complies with a grunt, racing around the Clawitzer to trap it in a SAND TOMB.

"meet its charge head on! don't give it an inch rockbuster!" the clawitzer pointed its claw at the oncoming gabite and ejected a powerful stream of water from behind it as it shot forward with a powerful aqua jet. it raced to meet the dragon head on and try to slam its large pincer into its face. the sand tomb was still effective in kicking up dirt as it got closer however, his vision almost obstructed by all of the sand flying around him, but he still pressed on.

Was she talking about the battle still, or alluding to whatever it was they'd been arguing about? Who knows.[break][break]

The Gabite takes the full force of the AQUA JET head on, meeting it with her own DRAGON RUSH. However, given her inexperience and lack of proper training, it was a no-brainer that she would lay back on the sand, dazed and defeated. Too many blows to the head would do that to you, I suppose.[break][break]

Stormy, however, seems to have battled out her frustrations.[break][break]

"So? Dinner's on me. I can handle that. What are you feelin'?"[break][break]

She pats her belly.[break][break]

"But don't think you're a hotshot because you bested me. Gabite's still a youngster- she's never seen a battle before until today."
