She's struggling, laughing hysterically, a mix of panic and excitement. He's about to toss them both off the edge of the dive, to crash into the water below.[break][break]

And then they're falling and she's screaming.

[attr="class","lancepost"]in his defense she should have known better than to trust him with this much power. she struggles to escape from his grasps but maybe she's not really trying to. with an arm around her, lance tosses both of them over the edge and into the water.

and it's cold. but he doesn't seem to mind. he breaks through the surface and takes a breath, laughing as he drifts closer to her.

"it's not that cold."

She gasps as water pours over her head and she comes up for air looking like a drowned rat. For a moment she flails before getting a hold of herself, wiping hair out of her face and glowering at Lance with a look that is definitely too affectionate to be anger.[break][break]

"It's f-f-freezing!"[break][break]

And so she crawls closer to him, wading so that she's snuggling into his chest.

[attr="class","lancepost"]it actually is freezing but his sinnoh-skin has grown used to temperatures far worse than this. he reaches out for her and pulls her close when she crawls towards him. even in the ice-cold waters, she still feels hot.

"how are you still so warm?"

not that he minds. he pulls her closer.

She comments offhandedly, distracted, up to no good.[break][break]

Because she's leaning in to maybe possible plant a kiss on his lips, especially when he pulls her closer. But her hands are reaching up to his shoulders and suddenly she's cackling.[break][break]

"Karma!"[break][break]

With all of her might, she attempts to shove him under the water for a brief dunk. Even though he's clearly not affected by the cold water.

[attr="class","lancepost"]announcing her intentions is foolish and it allows him a moment to take a deep breath before he's shoved under the water. he feels the water wrapping around him before reaching a hand out for her leg. he tugs her down with him and uses the momentum to shift back up to the surface.

Panic sets in a moment too late and she isn't fast enough to take a breath. So water floods her nose and she's choking on salty water as his fingers tighten around her leg to pull her under the water.[break][break]

They switch places and she comes back up for air, gasping, bewildered. She coughs and sputters, shaking her head.[break][break]

"Lance!"[break][break]

She sounds cross, but she's smiling.

[attr="class","lancepost"]smiling comes naturally and the simple act of it has him laughing. the tone in her words convey a different message to her smile but he knows. he drifts closer, reaching out for her before pulling her close. their bodies touch and he kisses her, unaffected by the currents of the ocean.
