And canceled his original plans regarding the gym, too.

Kama grunted as she raised a scythe, the blow sending her hurtling back to the earth before she could land of the Braviary. Spinning around to regain her balance, she darted along the ground in a zig zag pattern, each shift in her movements getting emphasized by booming claps.

Each boom sent walls of wind hurtling towards the Braviary, trying to bring it back down to earth.

Kama couldn't afford to take even weak fire-type moves, let alone this from a powerhouse like Lyune.

A rather undignified squawk escaped past her maw as she hit the deck, almost as if bombs had been dropped. She felt a searing, painful sensation grace at her wings and immediately knew she wouldn't be able to fly for the rest of the match.

Gritting her teeth, she pushed off with her scythes furiously, spinning through the air before attempting to goomba stomp onto Lyune's own wing.

If she was stuck down here, it was best her opponent was as well!

"Pleasure to meet'cha, Raju, Big Bert." He said, nodding at both before clapping Kama on the back. "Say hi, Kama."

Perhaps worn down by so many battles, Kama did not even grunt at her trainer's nonsensical request, merely nodding at both opponent trainer and pokemon before stepping forward to take her place on one end of the battlefield.

"Right, I guess she's eager to get started." Doug said with a grin, moving to stand behind Kama. "Let's have a good one, yeah?"

Once they were all ready, Kama nodded at Big Bert once again, before launching forth.

Crossing the distance between them quickly, the scyther suddenly leapt over the Tauros, attempting to stomp down unto it as she flipped through the air.

Kama hunkered down and bit down her lip as a flurry of strikes rained upon her with earth shattering force, her chitin armor cracking everywhere, each strike making her knees buckle and whole frame tremble from the power behind them.

Yet, the fiery spirit never died down in her eyes, gaze narrowed in sharp focus as she suddenly attempted to dodge into one of the blows, her own arm coming up to try and strike mid-combo.

"Oh, 'ello!" He said as he arrived at the meeting spot— a small picnic table at the park, near a pokemon battlefield regularly used by the local folk.

Luckily for the tournament organizers, the neighborhood's watch had authorized the use of it by tournament participants.

"I'm John, this is Kama." He introduced himself to the other youth, gesturing to his Scyther before lightly cocking his head.

Another one he didn't know— and surely a new talent as well. This tournament had been rather fruitful on that front.

"Hope the tourney's been fun for ya."

Trying to brute force her way past the scizor was not the way to go, she knew that much.

Still, she didn't have a lot of options outside of the Vacuum wave, and the same trick wouldn't work if used repeatedly. Reluctantly, Kama leapt into the fray to meet Ripper into battle, ethereal blades dancing around her and strengthening her as they clashed.

The power behind his brutal swing was to be expected, yet it still took her off her feet, sending her skidding along the battlefield before she rammed her scythes onto the soil, stopping herself short of ringing out.

With a growl, she used those same scythes to slingshot herself at her mentor, her body hurtling towards the Scizor before suddenly attempting to leap over him in a somersault, her arm swinging at the back of his head firmly as she did.

Vs Yvaine Varron

Lancelette's speedy retreat is not enough to save her from a powerful blow, her figure folding around the Zoroark's pouncing paws as it launches into her at breakneck speeds, the crunching of steel armor filling the air as her breastplate plumage folds around her opponent's blow.

Skidding along the soil, Lancelette scrambled gracelessly for air yet again, wings kicking at the ground as she attempted to put more and more height. She just couldn't seem to catch enough of her breath to put real strength into her wings—

Gwyar raised his fist in the sky, the glimmering z-crystal embedded upon his gauntlet shining brightly.

A surge of power filled Lancelette as her body glimmered like crimson.

With a single flap of her wings, her body launched high in the sky, reaching lofty heights... before she dove down like a bullet, barrel rolling the whole way down as her body glimmered like polished steel.

It had taken much struggling and pretty much all resources available to her, but finally, Kama had managed to land something resembling a solid blow on her opponent, much to her relief.

She got mud bombed and had her wings all but clipped for her troubles, but hey— a hit was a hit. She would take it.

Stumbling on her feet as she finished spinning, her wings heavy with muddy clingings, the Scyther gave her opponent a tired glare before squaring up her shoulders and launching at the toxicroak.

What, can't fly? Whatever, have you seen her moveset?! She's got three fighting-type moves for a reason!

"Ya did good, girlie." He said with a smile to the panting scyther, healing her wounds swiftly before turning to their opponent, nodding their way.

"And you as well, Miss. Thank you for the match." He said, nodding their way and saluting.

A surge of magenta filled the air, lightning dancing over the horizon as nature's madness tore through the sky to intercept the darkness of ruination.

A small silhouette descended from above to stand between the tablets of ruin and the guardian of the skies, her pixie-like giggling reverberating with an otherworldly pitch as her glowing cyan eyes fell upon the snail.

"Pardon me if I sound a little naive here." A familiar voice intoned, turning the ménage à trois into a party— and ruining all classiness, naturally. "But this seems like a stupid time to be fighting, wouldn't ya say?"

So much hardwork together, thrown aside the moment it looked like shit wouldn't immediately hit the fan if they didn't stop being at one another's throats...

"'ello there, Ms. Elisabeth. Been missin' ya at the club meetings." He said with undue cheeriness, smiling at the other woman whilst glancing over at Luka and Eva.

Lancelette was expecting the wriggling— the hammering however caught her off guard, smashing unto her jaw with enough force to make her cough and drop the little Eevee.

Wheezing till, the bird of prey narrowed her gaze before zooming down to catch the falling Eevee yet again— not with her beak, but with a big ass steel wing.

Probably just about what the other man needed to know how everything was going so far for them.

For her part, Kama, too, was happy to test herself against a mentor of sorts.

Scizors were not as fast as Scythers were pure mobility was concerned, but their punching speed was not at all slowed by their coat of steel. As the iron fist came, Kama scarcely managed to raise her scythes to block, her arms smacking her in the face as the force carried through, sending her hurtling back.

She flipped on a dime with superb agility however, her arms blurring as walls of cutting wind were sent hurtling towards Ripper.

Casually, Doug tapped Kama's side, her wounds sealing closed in an instant as he patted her head.

"Ya did good, girlie. Rest up." He said, letting her sit down for a moment before turning over to his opponent, waving their way.

"Great work out there, mate! Good luck in the tourney!"
