Despite how scary going underwater could be, the act of Clamperl diving seemed to be almost therapeutic. The feeling of being submerged was quite nice when Elaine realized just how it had felt. It was like the tumult of the world around her had been shut out as she and her wetsuit were all surrounded by water.

At least, that was what she had realized when she finally decided to try diving for the first time.

"Well, time to go back in."

After quickly saying that, she dove back in underwater, wondering what she would find.

After a pretty embarrassing showing on her last attempt, Elaine was nothing short of fired up for the next one. There was no ill will, just a competitive spirit.

With a quick pulse through her fingers, Elaine squeezed at the ball once, for good luck.

With the next breath, she flung it straight towards the target. "You're going down!"

But, from then on, it was up to the world around her whether she would finally be on target.

What awaited beyond the entrance of the terminal was...a moment of calm and another riddle. After taking a moment to catch her breath and let go of the person who she had been pulling along with her, she took a moment to look at the riddle. They had already seemed to speak out their logic while she was still catching her breath so there was little chance for Elaine to intervene.

Granted, the logic was sound enough from both angles so it doesn't seem like I need to say anything more. Better to just follow the flow till I need to speak.

For a short moment, she takes a look back at her partner in crime and gives an equally quick nod. They didn't need to say anything more for now, so it was best to just make their choices and see what information they could gather by listening in or watching.

Afterwards, she walked towards the console and tapped the Reshiram option for herself.

"It's so warm." She didn't have a fan in hand, so she could only use her hand as a makeshift fan as she attempted to cool herself down. Even while she was baring much more skin than usual, she found herself barely keeping up with the heat. Though, such was clearly a herculean task for a Sinnoh native like her.

Even so, she stupidly had taken the plunge on the swimsuit competition. The pink-plaid two-piece swimsuit with hearts at her hips and a knot at the center of her chest. The same-colored sunglasses that adorned her face. Despite her initial resistance, she had placed some effort into this swimsuit contest. The least she could do was put in a good effort on the stage.

With it finally being her turn, she got up and snapped her fingers. In that moment, her Metagross took to floating only a couple of feet above her, blocking the ever-beating rays of the sun from reaching her as she walked down the runway--as if it were being a handsfree moving parasol for her. At the very end, she simply crossed her arms, placed one foot slightly before herself and used one hand to slightly push up her sunglasses by the side of the frame, all while she remained underneath the Metagross.

A valiant effort yet one with minimal exertion and simple finesse.

A larceny. A suicide scene that was sabotaged to look like a murder. Poaching rings. An assassination. Over time, a reputation built up. The Ace Detective. Child Wonder. Numerous monikers for her flew throughout the region. For 8 years, Jubilife's Juvenile Ace was an unstoppable force.

And yet, everything eventually comes to end. Details are unknown, but Elaine Highland disappeared from the limelight at the age of 19. Her final cases as the vaunted Ace seemingly wiped from all records, she almost seemed to drop off the face of the earth. Despite that, there were still occasional reports of her taking cases. But even so, it was strange of her to resurface in Hoenn of all places. The young woman who had gone off the grid, what was it she was after?
