Riding into the storm of Gyarados on Ludwig, he himself felt like a knight. The only thing missing was a lance, or a sword. Callan was sweating from trying to manage himself on top of Ludwig's tempestuous changes in motion, he had forgotten how taxing the Ranger jjob could be, even though he himself had only becoming a Ranger a fewew months back, he hadn't had any serious excursions since joining Teravolt.

Callan rode into the storm of Twisters, drawing out his Pokeball and tossing them at one of the swarm of oversized shrimp. The goal here was to disrupt, and force out the Gyarados back to sea before they decide to unleash havoc on Slateport.

Standing where he could see the entire span of Slateport's magnificent beach, it's an unusual sight to take in. Not because there's very few people in the water or on the beach, but because of just how close the Gyarados and Magikarp have migrated to the shore.

Reluctant to get in the water himself, Derek takes to the sky atop the back of his Garchomp to get an overhead look. He can see just how many of them lurk beneath the surface of the water, bumping into each other and frustrating their larger brethren who are accustomed to roaming the ocean blue without such a hindrance.

Clicking open another pokeball, Derek releases his own Gyarados this time, who comes crashing down headfirst into the water like a lance. Breaching the surface moments later, it makes good on the command it's eventually given.

A WHIRLPOOL spawns further out on the water, beneath the swarm. Though the other Gyarados are able to fight this current easily, many of the Magikarp are too weak to resist, and are gradually reduced in number. Seeing an opportunity in this, Derek and his Garchomp swoop down to attempt capturing one of them...

They were flooding in to catch these things. Yeah, not the pokémon or waves, but the trainers.

Thaddeus had come to ‘help out’ because they were offering to pay him and he’d heard that shiny magikarp and red gyarados were pretty rare; sold well, if he didn’t need to use them for jobs.

Which, water type pokémon could definitely come in handy for that. So he was ‘helping out.’

The ocean was anything but kind today it seemed. The appearance of the rampaging Gyarados charged the scene with their anger cutting through the once peaceful atmosphere like a lance.

It ruined the good mood that Viviana had earlier turning her relaxed mindset into irritation. If these overgrown sushi wanted to rage and thrash then she would rise to their challenge not unlike a kraken to take them head-on. Pokeball at the ready she would toss it at the nearest target - pushing her anger into the throw in hopes of catching one of the vicious sea serpents.

The sea was cruel, but she was crueler.

Hoenn definately had not changed. Or atleast in what Morgan seemed to remember. The dragon rider recalled his times he adventured over hoenn as he traversed the region to appease some gyarados' that had made their way over to the shore line. The sheer number of them reminded him of a monstrous terror he watched in a movie. The ripples within the water moved as if they were apparent of one larger being. All that there needed to be now was two pirate ships, 1 covered the creatures of the deep and the other weather beaten. There was only one thing that was going through his head.

Morgan laughed to himself as out loud as he sat upon the back of his green dragon. "Thankfully, the Kraken is not real, and there are no pokemon similar to it." The young man said this to his dragon in which grunted in agreement. Should there something like that be real, all of hoenn would be in trouble..

Summer received news that a swarm of GYARADOS appeared around Slateport Beach.

After her father's demise and her rise to power, she had to prove herself not only to those who were under her command, but also Rocket that she knew what she was doing with the Prescott business and name. And what better opportunity than to catch several MAGIKARP and a GYARADOS for the black market?

They were so powerful, and their weak pre-evolution forms were worth the highest dollar for their final forms. Summer smiled with an eager look as she threw her Pokemon forward, attacking sharply like a flashing LANCE.

Ugh...water...and in the middle of the ocean. Asher didn't like it at all. Most he did was swim in it or drool over some good looking people swimming in it. And all the legends of giant water type Pokemon sinking ships like a Kraken, an over sized Octillery, sure didn't help him much. But then the waters started to get really choppy. Even the captain was a little off guard about it. Dressed in a sailor's uniform, the red head went to the bow. And saw freaking Gyarados going nuts! And one was heading right towards them! Letting out Chinny the Chinchou and Fletcher the Fletchinder, this was going to be a very tough fight...he definitely hoped he got some back up over here...

Waves turbulent with the writhing of a veritable swarm of Gyarados, their serpentive bodies like the teeming tendrils of a KRAKEN undulating through the waves, snaking their way like feelers closing in on their quarry. Nothing can approach them for fear of their reprisal, ending in evisceration. Trainers are being asked to help remove them so that the Slateport Splashfest can safely take place.[break][break]

From the shoreline Adrian unleashes Furor in a flash of red resplendent. Its tail leaves a trench where it passes through the shallows and into deeper waters, calling out to the wyrms in their frenzy. It is not likely they will respond favorably in their agitation, but any trainer would know that.[break][break]

When their efforts at resolving it peacefully are left marooned, they resort to less refined methods; Adrian raises a finger and twirls his hand at the wrist, and the red Gyarados begins circling the swarm, maybe to box them in. Most are outraged at everything that isn't Gyarados, so at first they simply continue their riotous writhing through coastal waters. It isn't until a lone Gyarados breaks away from the swarm that Furor seems to react. Its path jerks into a collision course with the brute, baring its fangs.[break][break]

Somewhere on the shore, Adrian's wristband lights up with the shimmer of a keystone, causing a change in Furor. With its added bulk, his Gyarados can go right for the throat—[break][break]

Furor's BALEFUL BRUX digs into the wild Gyarados' scaled hide before thrashing it in the waters, tossing it aside with a triumphant bellowing that grates his ears even from afar.[break][break]

ah yes, gyarados. truly the krakens of the sea; the only problem is that they aren't exactly octopi, but they have just about the same amount of destructive capabilities.

hence why there is a need to study them. there's a need to cut one open and study its innards, or its brain, or its behaviour to see what makes it tick. they're so violent, so hostile. beautiful.

and so without much a second thought, she throws her pokeball into the fray. honestly.. cares little about the destruction that the hoard is causing. she just wants a test subject to bring home.

As one of the Rangers that lived in Slateport he could not let this slide! Riding upon a Ranger sponsored stolen vessel for legal reasons he would not mention this in the stories to come. Wind blowing through his hair, vision blurred from salty water hitting his face. The most anticlimactic boat ride of his life towards one of the scariest things he had seen in his life. It as as if Arceus himself had called upon the legends of the Kraken.

Coming to a full stop and pulling out one of the pokeballs from his belt towards the Swarm, trying to stop the angry dragon looking fish from reaching the shores of his loving city. He would not be surprised at all if he was to be pulled into Davy Jones' Locker and have to pay 100 souls to free himself from it. But it was a price worth paying it meant the safety of Slateport.

There were still people trying to go about their lives as usual. Families trying to get away from the grim reality of Hoenn's situation, to enjoy the beach on a weekend outing despite the dome that could be seen faintly in the distance.

Barnaby watched as a mother tried futilely to reign her young son in. The boy was giggling as he ran, his heels kicking up sand with every innocent step. She was desperate, though; the rampaging GYARADOS had appeared so fast, threatening to end their outing in tragedy if they didn't leave the beach soon.

Eventually, the child was subdued and the family vacated the premises. Barnaby, however, remained to help calm the angry dragons.

Jack hitches his range armband back up onto his bicep and sighs morosely. He enjoyed volunteering for beach clean-up duty but first the tragedy of the Wailords and now the rampaging Gyarados sends a lance of sorrow through his heart. With grim determination, he flicks a pokeball into the turbulent waves of the sea and watches as it explodes into a burst of red light. Emerging from the flash is his Gyarados, who roars as he takes in the chaotic scene of flailing Magikarp and raging Gyarados.

"Alright mate, let's go try to settle your friends down," Jack says as he vaults onto the pokemon.

The waves are turbulent as if the sea itself is angry. A swarm of Gyarados and the accompanying Magikarp writher and roar, trying to lash out at something- anything. Whatever had kept them from doing as they pleased in their domain. It's good that at least its not a Kraken-like swarm of Tentacruel, but the Gyarados are still causing damage, prevent Splashfest and all that.

Still, while others worried about subduing the Gyarados, Mint was busy trying to collect the frenzied Magikarp practically launching themselves out of the water at them. Armed with his hyper aggressive Luxray, and a net, he's ready to take advantage of turbulent waters and bring in as many fish as possible, keepign an eye for rarer patterned ones be it golden or masked. "Cacio, cover me!" he ordered as he yeeted out his net while the panther used DISCHARGE to weaken their targets.
