"it's on the verge of collapsing." with groudon sealed. it was time to move. "whimsicott, return." his pokemon was brought back. with lucario remaining out, zenji would call upon their flight home, "flygon, out!" lucario would grab onto zenji.

picking up the scientist. lucario would jump off the mountain. in the middle of their jump would he come to be snagged by the ground/flying-type whilst holding zenji. "god job, take us d---" zenji's bag suddenly felt odd, "...it's more heavier than usual."

the frontier pendant zenji kept as a reminder of his past life was the treasure he chose. once this sudden surge of power enveloped the chosen three. they were whisked away back to the present. unaware of the mere fact that they were in the past. but there was a hypothesis surrounding that within the back of zenji's mind, but that wasn't his focus at this time.

as zenji absorbed all that was happening. he would think back to what was spoken:

"this will be temporary. be quick." The man says. "you can recreate the earth. change the mouth of the mountain. calm the land titan or enclose it!"

he would come to break out of his trance from the sudden heaviness of his bag. but that would come to be quickly disregarded as giona ferrara would speak to him. watching giona ferrara manipulate the earth. zenji would look at the palm of his own hand. watching as leylines similar to groudon's body markings emerge atop. "calm the land titan or enclose..." he would look to the raging beast, "it."

giona ferrara would make his move. but the sudden tremor that would emerge spawned TEN PRECIPICE BLADES. just like back in the cave. there were people already on it. and as they dealt with that it was up to the trio to deal with groudon. "you may be onto something, boy." he would smile and nod toward the exuberant youth giona ferrara, "hit'em high," that's what giona ferrara did, "and hit'em low!" zenji would extend the palm of his hand.

the earth beneath groudon's footing began to manifest leylines upon it. indicating that they were being tampered with. once groudon stepped one foot forward an ERUPTION would occur. attempting to throw the groudon off balance. but with his other hand, zenji would place his palm upon the earth beneath his feet. "we need to bind him!"

stone pillars would erect from all around the volcano's center. each pillar emerging at the height of groudon's waist, slamming into the legendary's said waist. approximately there were only four that were made. attempting to keep the legendary beast bounded. zenji would muster what energy he could to keep the pillars stable in order to keep the beast bounded.

lucario and whimsicott watch at his side with worry.

- zenji commands the earth beneath groudon's foot to explode. he would then proceed to place his other hand upon the mountain's surface in order to erect four pillars around groudon's waist. attempting to keep the beast bound and sealed. hoping to unify his strength with both giona ferrara and Zac Ramsay.

the reemergence of the pink blur would come to catch him by surprise. as it hovered before zenji, he would look in wonderment and follow. "it's you..." he lowly uttered as a small smile formed upon his face. whimsicott held the professor's hand, like a child, wondering with worry for the sudden shift in expression.

but before zenji could say anything else, it vanished. "gone again," zenji softly spoke, "just like in that dream." either way, if fate would allow it, he was bound to find mew once again. for now he needed to address the issue at hand: the draconid tribe member.

as he spoke a specific sentence. it clicked within zenji's head as to why mew may have led his group here. "we mean no harm," zenji said. lucario, who was ready to take action, would come to be halted by zenji and his whimsicott. "but it's no coincidence as to why we were brought here." the that would emanate heat was strong, but safeguard allowed for the professor to remain vigilant.

"the markings you bear..." it couldn't be? though the word was heard. a descendent of the draconid tribe? zenji thought them to be extinct. surprisingly, they weren't...or so he assumed. "this meeting was definitely no coincidence. i'm not sure as to why, but it's fated that you must help us." zenji pleaded.

he would prostrate himself before the individual, lowering his head. "we will do whatever it takes to prove that we mean no harm. we only acquire your assistance."

lucario continue to the lead way. with whimsicott gently holding the professor's shirt tail. the professor's freehand would come to find itself placed upon lucario's back who would guide. "it's alright, whimsicott. just remain close by." zenji fatherly spoke.

"keep up the good work luca--" zenji took notice of the jungle foliage around them. it was then that a rustling was heard. for a moment, as he turned toward the rustle, he thought he said lower-half of something PINK. it was too quick to fully notice, but for now he would ignore it. assuming it was to be none other than a pokemon running from groudon's wrath.

but there was another path where he heard the rustle emerge from leading toward something else. "whimsicott, refresh your SAFEGUARD once more." zenji would tug at lucario to halt. whereas the group may have chosen to go one way, zenji would choose another.

"let's see where this leads." and so he would steer of course toward the direction of where the pink blur moved. maybe there was a hint within this path that could lead them to victory.

the sudden eruption would cause lucario to take hold of whimsicott and zenji. attempting to break their fall by protecting the both of them. after all, he was the most durable between the human and grass-type. as zenji stood to take notice of the newcomer. the ranger, so he assumed for them to be, took the challenge to stay behind and face regidrago.

"that's the pokemon..." there was no time to show concern for something trivial. zenji would nod toward the brave ranger (giona ferrara ). though, to be clear, he wasn't a ranger. zenji had no idea who the individual happened to be. he just assumed. regardless, he would say, "if you die i'm gonna make sure your pay is docked tenfold."

for a smart man he sure has his braindead moments.

"let's go!" with his computer in hand and backpack in tow. zenji continued to move forward. "for that pokemon to be here is no coincidence. it must be after what we came here for. we need to find it." zenji spoke aloud toward his pokemon. "lucario, can you DETECT anything?"

the pathway made by Zac Ramsay and company allowed for the zenji's group to traverse safely toward the sound Asriel Pryde and their luxray leapt toward. the individual wasn't looking so good, but there was no way for zenji to help the stranger for they were already ahead.

at the moment the professor, with his backpack in tow and laptop in hand, continued moving. for now there was no action needed on their part. "stay close you two." the zenji ordered whimsicott and lucario, both who were possibly the most vulnerable around all of this intense heat. if needed he was prepared to recall when the time came.

exiting a personal vehicle with lucario. zenji, donning attire befitting for the assignment, stood beside the league provided car with a backpack and laptop in hand. "the heat is not kind," the professor commented. no surprise considering the beast.

with Eva Morales and illeana reyes on the move. he would leave the two of them to dissect the skies. while they do that, zenji would choose to head a different way: into the mountains' cavern. "whimsicott, come out." zenji called the little grass-type. "erect a safeguard around us." with the effect of whimsicott's protection it would act as a second layer of skin for not just himself and from the protection of the heat, but lucario and whimsicott themselves.

"let's go." zenji trailed behind those who were ahead.

zenji stood from his chair and headed toward the door. placing his strong hand upon the knob, he would open it. just as he was about to walk out and close it, he would turn toward Razz Kingsman .

"dead men tell no tales." and he was gone.[break]

momentarily he left alone for awhile. time elapsed for no more than twenty to thirty minutes. eventually, he would return with an associate at his side. hendrix emmerson , one of hoenn's top engineerers. an individual zenji was lucky enough to have apart of his team. "hendrix, Razz Kingsman . a promising ranger of the league."

once introductory was out of the way. a gesture was made for Razz Kingsman to follow them. together the trio and their pokemon maneuvered into the lower depth of evol's institute. there were a variety of rooms filled with high-tech equipment. but there was one room where it was all white, bright, and had only two operating tables within it. beside them were personal individuals employed by zenji to work at evol. inside the room it could almost be seen as if they were getting ready to set up for some soon-to-happen operation.

"that's where we'll be holding the operation. they're merely here to ensure that our vital signs are stable and that everything is going well. hendrix emmerson will be overseeing the technical side of it all. so no need to worry with confidentiality." zenji calmly spoke, adding, "like i said. dead men tell no tales." a keyphrase indicating that his chance of survival was quite low if they were to proceed.

looking back inside the room through the one-way mirror, he'd ask once more, "is this something you're ready to do? there's no turning back once we get started." if Razz Kingsman accepted his fate and trusted his gut, he would be taken away to get changed into something more comfortable: a white t-shirt and a pair of white bottom scrubs.

it was no secret that the head scientist was a jack of all trade. he was naturally gifted when it came to the laws of science. his name was one of many that traversed through the world of scientists and researchers. as a former frontier brain, he was chosen to once serve among the elite 8 for a reason. the symbol of knowledge was no mere pleasantry when zenji was the mere embodiment of such a prestige emblem.

which is why it would be no cakewalk for him to accept the man's funding.

"your offer is very generous and i'm sure the league would be overcome with euphoria by your donation," zenji would say in response, "but i'm going to have to decline your offer." it was an easy thing to do. did he enjoy it? not exactly, but his unfamiliarity with the man and his lack of reason for wanting to research did not exactly ring pure intentions.

"you're interest, knowledge on the matter, curiosity, and reason aren't emanating pure intention. with all that's happening within the region i'm assure you're well aware of my reasonable caution toward your proposal." a man he nor the league had little to no idea about just suddenly woke up one day and chose to fund research for something possibly dangerous? the meteorite was locked away for a reason and still under surveillance. though, as for the pokemon that emerged from it, the subject's whereabouts are still unknown.

"unlike the previous head scientist i'm no pushover. sweet words, money, status? all of that means nothing without integrity." which led the scientist to ask the following, all while placing a cigarette from pocket of his lab coat within his mouth, "what's the real reason for your interest in something you have no tie to?"

the cancer stick would be set alight.

"you'll be left in charge in my time of absence. be sure to report back everything to me." zenji spoke with his assistant. just outside of the door where he was scheduled to meet with an individual that requested his presence. zenji's voice could be, had they been listening, heard.

the researcher would come to open the door. as he made his way into the room, he would greet the individual with a nod. "mr. rose i presume?" a laptop was seen at zenji's side in the palm of his left hand; though he was not alone for a porygon trailed behind the professor. he would come to take his seat before the individual.

"if i'm not mistaken i was told my presence was required for something important? the details weren't exactly all relayed." regardless, he'd prefer hearing it straight from the source rather than by word of mouth from another. "you needed something researched? did you bring whatever the item was?" zenji assumed, not knowing that the item in question was something in their possession, not his.

in his search for help. zenji examined Razz Kingsman 's physical movement and expression. he listened closely to everything he said. all while casually returning to the screen of his computer. his facial expression remained neutral.

"your determination to have this blockage gone is commendable." zenji would comment, "you've changed." he said with a soft smile. a fatherly response given. "it's like your maturing every time i see you." he'd let out a soft chuckle, "but you're still a brat." even with all this being said. zenji didn't feel as if razz was being truthful with him. call it a hunch, but zenji felt there was more the ranger wanted to tell him.

"anyway, i'll ask again, are you sure about this? there's no way of telling how this will effect your psyche after all. so think carefully on the mere fact that there will be possible side effects after the operation."
