zenji then proceeded to pinch the bridge of his nose. all this talk about the chosen and circus entertainments of the league began to weigh him down. "you are a lot better than me, silph." standing from seating he would proceed to grab his coat. "i'm starting to feel a bit buzzed, so i'm going to head out." turning to face the councilman and look down, he'd say with a half-smile, "unless you wanna continue this conversation and join me back at my place for some fun." zenji teasingly poked.

were those of the league that ignorant? "for people who are made to protect this region. they sure sound as if they lack tasteful personalities." there was more at stake than their little feud. "to act as guides for the youth and leaders of this region, it's embarrassing." if there was one thing that crawled under zenji's skin was the hardheaded son/daughter/person of a bitch.

"if people are unable to understand the importance of everything that's at stake, then this faction is better off being wiped out." he didn't sign up to waste his precious time with children. "honestly," the alcohol was starting to him in the midst of showcasing his annoyance, "how did you work at a circus like this?" queue the clown music.

[attr="class","light"]no different from a impidimp. that smug face reminded him as to why he detested the pokemon so. but, without saying a word, it was nice now and then to see a familiar face. especially one as surprising as this. "such a visit was unexpected."

leaving his brother's side momentarily. he would walk over to a nearby vending machine in order to grab a snack. while doing so, zenji would ask, "what brought you back to hoenn? shouldn't you be off doing whatever it is that you do." aside being a nuisance. though, to be fair, it was the role of a younger sibling.

it was bound to be a long process. so the last thing they need was any unwanted guests getting in the way. every second mattered, "first and foremost you'll be asked a series of questions while undergoing testing. some blood may be drawn, hair, urine, and among other things..." he paused upon thinking about it, "...you may want to wear something comfortable for movement as we won't be sitting down the whole time. or don't, we'll have stuff provided just in case. come in with whatever."

it was practically a upcoming field day for the scientists of league. "there may be no cause of concern that any of you will end up like her, but it doesn't hurt to reassure ourselves. can any of us really afford that sort of thinking after the amount of people the league has lost?" zenji was sure that FERNANDO SILPH had been aware that there was no need to recall names of the dearly departed.

zenji would come to finish the last drop of his drink. feeling the buzz just a tiny bit, considering he was a well-known lightweight, he'd look the councilman. "there's one account, or rather several, tracing back to the first appearance of primal energy." his memory of researching the league's database began to resurface.

in the middle of fernando's toast. zenji remained fastidious in expression. as if he were playing some form of mental chess game within his mind. trying to move one piece after the other to claim victory. "it wasn't exactly spoken by those involved, but there were accounts written in each statement about how it measured differently from mega evolution." of course the only difference is that the primal energy that was said to have invaded the specific pokemon's bodies that were involved seemed as if they were similar yet different from mega evolution that is seen today.

"for primal energy to have done that to her..." there had to be more to it. "...anyway, this will be more than just a 'health inspection'. you'll be out before your tenth assassination attempt is made." a jab thrown as a way to say that fernando was a very busy man who was wanted by all, and not for the right reasons.

[attr="class","light"]having finished a meeting just upon his arrival. it was unexpected for zenji to be contacted for another, for he could only assume the reason for the receptionist to contact him was for another meeting. to his surprise it was for something else. one that would surely catch the individual by surprise.

so zenji made his way down.

once there he would come to stop abruptly. an expression, neutral, slightly shifted into a slight look of shock. what was this feeling overwhelming him? his chest would thump louder with each beat, his tummy rustling. just what was this feeling he'd felt? oh, that's right: indigestion. he would silently burp into his fist. with that out of the way he would return to the individual before him.

his expression once again neutral. zenji could only formulate one thing in his head that would accidentally escape his maw, "why isn't security tackling you at this very moment?" he sternly stated.

[attr="class","light"]at the research tower. preparation for testing started. many upon zenji's personal research team, provided by the league, and members of evol were called in order to assist the head scientist. since his discussion with FERNANDO SILPH and the aqua assembly. such testing was scheduled ahead of time before those of league were sent off upon their respective excursions.

zenji, with dahlia goode 's permission and FERNANDO SILPH 's backing, reached out to each avatar that was available. one by one they would be scheduled to be personally escorted to the research tower located within ever grande city. for today's chosen avatar would be the famous gym leader turned elite four flame princess, Stormy Silph .

she would come to be escorted to meet with zenji and his team by his eccentric assistant, evan. the green haired stud would merrily escort her to the white room filled with advanced technology. all funded and provided by the league. once there Stormy Silph would come to see the head scientist surrounded by colleagues. issuing a order one to the next.

upon hearing the door open, zenji would turn to meet the representative of moltres. "welcome," he greeted Stormy Silph with a small smile, "glad you could make it." those underneath zenji bowed their head to greet the famous elite four member before returning to work. while there were some who chose to stay behind to await further instruction. "i hope you're not too frightened with the many eyes on you," he'd lean forward to whisper, "between you and me my anxiety is through the roof with them hovering over me." zenji stood straight up to release a slight chuckle.

"i hope you'll forgive me for taking away your time. you must be a busy woman, being a silph and all."

these served as a basis from what he understood by FERNANDO SILPH's given theories. "each avatar has a different story, a different reason and outcome which led to the bond forged." zenji is unaware of the situation that each avatar faced. but they were all respectively chosen for a reason. his head would shift toward fernando, "for cooper to have gone through such an ordeal while serving as groudon's avatar for only a short period is troubling."

he pondered on what fernando had given him. the information was definitely a working theory. he was going to have to jot this down as well within his mental notes. zenji would take out his cellular device and began to write within his notes as the pair spoke.

"the autopsy has me worried about all of you. it's suggested that primal energy intoxication was the cause, but the fact that it went without notice." the lot of them were in need of an immediate physical, right along with a interview. "it's necessary that i learn of the origin for each representatives ascension into avatarhood, as well as for what they can do. most importantly you will all be needing a physical starting as of next week before we're deal with the upcoming excursions." and that's only one-fourth of his work. there was much needed to be done.

"are you able to open up your schedule for a checkup?"

"the link?" it has been a topic of interest for him. since learning about their discovery. zenji's interest had been piqued. though his time to devote studying them had been on pause. since his promotion he was now able to pursue more. especially since now he had even more access into the league's database than he ever did before.

"it's something i've been meaning to dive into since my promotion." his gaze would shift to the television, "i can't exactly formulate a theory just yet. first i would need to interview the chosen. learn how they came about meeting them, what occurred during their interaction, and when or how did they go about learning of their abilities." the task sounded daunting, but it was more fun for zenji. though he hated interacting with people that were bound to be a headache. their status as an avatar made the scientist able to push beyond his bubble.

"i'd like to hear those theories of yours."

their relationship was unknown to the head scientist. but if he knew the truth zenji would know that the whole 'best friend' schtick was a lie. but he was allowed to be delusional for it was none of his concern. thus zenji had no reason to know or develop a opinion on the matter of whether what fernando said was true or not. but he'd better stop lying.

the head scientist would chuckle, "take it easy, i'd hate to have to call one of your secretaries late at this hour to bring you home." with that being said and done, zenji had to ask his next question. though he would await for FERNANDO SILPH to respond before doing so. had he nothing else to say or add, zenji would proceed, "so lopez is an avatar? funny," he dryly commented, "each of our respective avatars are all unique in personality. i don't think any of them have shown a proper way in carrying themselves. it's a wonder how any of them were chosen."

but if he had to signal out one that stood out to him. he would have to choose kyle, "something about that kid piques my interest." said zenji, uttering his thoughts allowed.

the vanguards of league were at work. where they had their assigment, zenji possessed his own. typing away at his computer. zenji would call for his porygon, "out." the fluctuation of primal energy where zenji resided remained within a state of equilibrium. it was as though he'd been standing at the focal point of it all.

"this should be a good spot."

to his pokemon he would say, "initiate protocol: pk-tia001, trace on." the porygon would come to emanate a holographic grid that would, in rhythm, pulsate on and off at a rate similar to a human heartbeat. upon zenji's computer was a layout of the sight. on one side there was heavy activity of primal energy radiating about. on the other side, which lead not only toward the battle but to the cave's entrance, activity decreased significantly.

"if i use your modified body to act as a detector, we might be able to find the source(s) emanating primal energy throughout this cavern." after all, porygon's species were just literally built different. they weren't exactly machinery, so the primal energy shouldn't have too much of an effect on their ability to function. plus, with the right modification made to a porygon, such as zenji's, there's a high chance the energy may prove more helpful than harmful in finding the source. "having reprogrammed your code, i've made some adjustments to your ability." a wall of data appeared upon zenji's laptop, and alongside it was a schematic of porygon's modification.





minimizing their pages. zenji would pull back up the cave's map. it would be brought to his attention that there were new readings, or rather dots, upon it. "it's heading our way...?" could it be that porygon had also become afflicted with the primal energy's blessing? unbeknownst to zenji, he wasn't sure as to what this moving dot heading toward them had been. little did he know that it was a member of rocket and their pokemon. "you can see more than what i expected, could this moving dot be Raziel Beckett and his pokemon...?" the range continued to grow as more would appear. unfortunately, they were only manifesting upon the weaker side and not the larger.

"the source aren't popping up yet. is it possible the primal energy is just too great or is it the constant shifting in and out of our dimension that's making it difficult for the fragment to stay long enough to be discovered on the map?" there were too many variables coming to mind. for now, he needed to figure out his next plan of action.

- stuff is popping up on the map upon zenji's computer due to porygon's trace being enhanced by primal energy, unfortunately it's not what zenji was hoping for. it's u sloots popping up as red dots. he was hoping for the source(s) causing primal energy to emanate, but has crafted a suspicion that he isn't able to find them on the computer's map due to constantly phasing in and out. so they don't stay long enough to be found.

[attr="class","light"]zenji stared at the reddened Raziel Beckett . a neutral countenance had been worn upon zenji's face. it would slowly form into a small smile. placing his computer down for all but a moment. he would walk over to Raziel Beckett . standing slightly over the young adult. he would, had zenji been allowed to, place a hand atop of Raziel Beckett 's head and, almost like a father figure, ruffled his hair. "i understand the sentiment, no need to force it brat."

and without further ado he'd return to his original position. "and as for your question on primal energy...well," he'd pause for a moment, "let's just say it may save lives." among other things. just as zenji was about to begin returning to his work, there was a sudden utterance from afar. the noise was clearly an explosive.
