[break][break] Xenon Antheil releases an battalion of pokemon to face their oncoming threats, but for jayden there's no need.

[break][break] a sword finds it's way into his hand, icy crystallizing in the shape of metallic steel. a KING'S SHIELD protects him from a slew of oncoming attacks — ice, fire, and wind all crash against the shield that jayden hides behind, grunting with the effort of their blow. but his hand grips into the hilt of his blade with fierceness, heart swelling with the reminder of a world undreamt, before he bursts through the defenses with a relentless SHADOW WAVE. several pokemon topple like bowling pins, destroyed by the intense attack.

[break][break] there's a shout somewhere for reinforcements, but the admin pays them no mind. a group of pawniard and bisharp come for him them too, reminding him of his adventures with Isaac Merlo, and quickly corner him.

Jayden nods in approval to Hitoshi Inoue's words. He never doubted him in the first place, but it was good to hear in any case.

in another life, she was a queen.

[break][break] royalty had never had a place in jayden's life in their current reality. sure, of course, he knew of royalty like Remiel Calcifet and Elise Calcifet but as evidenced by both their betrayals, neither could be trusted. jayden had never cared much for politics. at least, he had thought.

[break][break] and then they had been taken to that faraway place, where dreams had spun into reality. a place so alike the tangled woods that he had grown up and yet so entirely different.

[break][break] jayden blinks, shocked by the visceral response. for a second, hurt rises like low tide behind hues of violet amethyst. jayden is not a person who reaches out easily or often; it was part of how he was raised, without the proper love and adoration of a regular family. rocket was his family, and it was only through the recent connections on hoenn that jayden had learned that not all affection needed to be bred into cruelty.

[break][break] once upon a time, the thought of wanting seemed impossible. and yet.

[break][break] the latter uses it's power of MEGA EVOLUTION almost immediately as league agents come sprinting towards them, equipped with an arsenal of pokemon to boot. but it's useless. a DISCHARGE from his emolga fires off, just as the gengar closes the area with SHADOW TAG. a wave of SLUDGE then threatens to overwhelm them, slowing them just enough for Xenon Antheil to make the final blow.
