it's like a bullet-shot, being thrown into the portal and ripped into the flowing fabric of time. it reminds him of those days in the SOOTOPOLIS BAY, when he and several other rockets had championed into the territory that was rightfully theirs.

Jayden has every intention of doing it. He has all the means.

[break][break] The rage that is inside of him builds and builds. It grows without warning, without limit. However this time, when his hands glow with the power granted by his patron, he finds his hands fizzle.

[break][break] The ice that bursts from his hands falls short of the DISCHARGE that races past the frozen shards, crackling with intensity, as it torches the metal creature. There is a brief moment of confusion, shock, and then the mist disapates. The disappearance of the paradox pokemon triggers the world around them, and as Jayden sprints back to his partner, they are thrust back into reality.

[break][break] It was funny how time worked. After all these years, after all the months of wanting and pining and aching for the thing that was — the thing that could never be — they were finally here.

[break][break] With that, he leaned forward. His lips brushed against his, and sealed it in a kiss.

When "Jayden" leans forward, it is with the brush of warm lips, but rather than meet his - suddenly - the hand that is caressing the scientist's face shifts towards. It easily slips towards Kaname Fujihara's neck, closing tight around it.

[break][break] Swiftly, this "Jayden" grabs Kaname by his neck, pulling him into the air. Dangling him easily with the strength he has. Now, the look that he wears is not soft or tender or warm.

[break][break] It is madness.

[break][break] "Is this how you think it works, Kaname?" the words are a sneer. "That I'll lean towards you, that we'll kiss?"

[break][break] "How dare you?"

[break][break] "Have you no heart? No soul?"

[break][break] "You may not care about fern delaney, but I thought you cared about me."

[break][break] His mouth lifts into a mocking smile.

[break][break] "Guess that was a lie."

[break][break] "I'm just a toy to you, aren't I? To do with as you please. You say you want me, you love me — but you don't know the first thing about me. You don't even care what I have to say in the matter, do you?"

[break][break] Another hand flips into a knife, tipped at Kaname Fujihara's chin.

[break][break] "But I guess that doesn't matter anyway. It's worthless — your love for me."

[break][break] "You're worthless, Kaname."

[break][break] That viscious hold on his neck drops, black hair spilling around him in waves. His eyes are blistered white and blue, ice crystals gathering in painful clarity around his neck and face. Each shard is full of blood frost, the way that it consumes his armor, but it is the look that he sends the other as he stands above him that is withering.

[break][break] "You left me when I needed you most."

[break][break] Pathetic.

[break][break] "No wonder Walsh sent you back to Kanto."

[break][break] And just like that, it dissipates into a cloud of smoke and blackened smog. As though someone had PHANTOM FORCED him away. But no, it's not Jayden, not his Dragapult.

[break][break] Just wisps of INTERDREAM MIST that leave Kaname Fujihara in the cave, all by himself.

two swords find their way into his hands, alabaster light swirling into the shape of two identical duoblades.

[break][break] "illie," he says, voice dripping with toxic venom. the whites of his eyes are the only thing that's visible now as they stand in the center of that frosted mansion. of their childhood. "don't be like this."

[break][break] 'i don't want to do this.'

[break][break] 'i wish i didn't have to.'

[break][break] "just come home!" he shouts, sprinting forward with the intent to swipe at her with his blades.

[break][break] but she doesn't listen. of course not. she's never listened.

[break][break] with a screech, her pokemon unleash an unnatural explosion of darkness. shadows hiss and leap with frightening speed towards his phantump, and there's not time for the pokemon to dodge. it splinters into shadowy wisps almost immediately, it's life sucked out of them. a scream dies in it's throat just as jayden is also hit by the attack, thrust backwards just as the swords fly out of his palms. he crashes through several layers of crystal-white walls, the last sight that he sees is of the desperate rose pink eyes of his childhood friend crying for him.

[break][break] he's knocked out too from the force of the attack, just as the INTERDREAM MIST thins around them and warps them back into reality. his dragapult manifests just in time — right before his skull is to bash fatally against the floor, vahagn manifests and scoops him up. the pokemon stares back at the slumped over, unconscious form of illeana reyes. his eyes sprinkeld with the same hatred that composes the cursed.

The INTERDREAM MIST is an evil thing, sinking it's claws deep into memories better left forgotten. Though Jayden has the blessing of a demon himself, it doesn't make it easier to see his past coming out in full force to haunt him.
