[break][break] he nods in understanding. "yeah, i can see that." even as a kid, vic had always been the hard-working type. the type who simply thought too much. more than once, flynn had wanted to knock him on the head, and tell him to stop worrying.

[break][break] it hardly ever worked.

[break][break] "dodgeball sounds fun," he says with a grin, tipping his head back to drink. the charjacola sizzles in his stomach and flynn is left wondering if maybe there's something suspicious in the drink. "met anyone fancy yet? i think i met one of those - uh - singers earlier. her name's Melody Miro i think?"

[attr="class","flynn"] "it's fine." flynn's ambivilant. he just hopes that there's no fights he has to break up that lands him in Rory Faust 's office again. the director could be a pain in his ass.

[break][break] the smile that breaks against flynn's face is wry as he sets himself down next to the pinkette. he cracks open his charjacola. "you got a lot of wins?"

[break][break] from what flynn remembers, vic's father kinda had a stick up his ass about this kinda thing.

[attr="class","flynn"] he's technically on assignment still, but he's always sure to make room for Victor Wexler. the precinct had ordered him and a few others to go to slateport for the tournament, to make sure that the festivities to get out of hand. luckily, flynn hadn't had to break up anything too terrible.

[break][break] there were the fanboys of Melody Miro, but otherwise, it'd been pretty calm.

[break][break] he walks over to where he's supposed to meet Victor Wexler on the beach, handing him a cold beverage and a teriyaki skewer handed over to him. "how's it going?"

[attr="class","flynn"] "thanks," flynn said, and for once, his words were genuine. the corphish still had a lot to learn but he was excited to see where it's journey would lead him.

[break][break] the girl smiles at him, and it makes flynn feel flustered. he's not used to the attention. he runs a hand through his hair, an anxious habit, and gives a shrug.

[break][break] "it's officer edwards."

[break][break] a pause, teal-colored gaze shifting to glance down at the top of pink, cotton candy hair.

[break][break] "... you can call me flynn, " he says, after a moment.

[attr="class","flynn"] maybe the attack would've changed the tide (haha get it), if titus had been able to hit. however, his claws don't make purchase on flesh but actually thin air.

[break][break] the pokemon teleports behind him and bonks him on the head.

[break][break] it's almost comedic the way the corphish faints, flames sucked into nothingness behind him. he lays burnt on the floor, and flynn returns him in a beam of light.

[break][break] "your gardevoir's pretty powerful."

[attr="class","flynn"] it's not the corphish really minds. after all, at least flynn caught him!

[break][break] "get 'em, titus!"

[break][break] still he appreciates it as his attack makes his mark, even if it was out of pity. burns scald him as he runs forward through the mystical fire. it's painful, but it'll be worth it.

[break][break] his claws cut through the heat with crabhammer.

[attr="class","flynn"] the attack hits, but with it comes another consequence. psychic energy coils around the corphish, immobolizing it for a moment before it's thrown into the air like a soccer ball.

[break][break] impulse drives flynn as an arm flashes out, crabbing the corphish before he's thrown too far off course.

[break][break] "damn, your pokemon's got quite the throw." he gently lands the corphish back on the ground as he skitters forward towards the center.

[break][break] once again, he uses bubble.

[attr="class","flynn"] she seemed very excited about the corphish. nearly as excited as THEO BECKETT tended to get about his fish tanks.

[break][break] the moon beam smashes into the corphish, knocking himself back. titus gets back to his feet quickly enough. "razor shell, titus!" the pokemon speeds forward, blue light glowing around one of it's pincers as it attempts to slash downward.

[attr="class","flynn"] to be honest, flynn wasn't one for battles. he was just trying to live his life.

[break][break] maybe he could sell it for a pretty buck, though. plus, he was never one to turn a good deal.

[break][break] he releases his corphish into the space before them. the pokemon clicks it's two pincers together before releasing a bubble.

[attr="class","flynn"] a part of flynn is glad that he never got the chance to be a parent. he couldn't imagine what noah would've been like in his teens? would he too have been a fan of Melody Miro?

[break][break] he shifts, throwing her a look.

[break][break] "sure," he shrugs. flynn's not much of a battler, but as well as he's here, he might do something to pass the time. "it'll be good exercise for us, in any case."

[attr="class","flynn"] while fought long and hard, a battle has to come to an end soon enough. it comes in threes.

[break][break] his houndoom wobbles as it hits the floor, the last of her health drained by the leech seed from earlier.

[break][break] a few feet away, the dewott also lays unconcious. sparks fly off the otter's pelt from the thunder punch that had ended him.

[break][break] and finally his mightyena was thrown against the sand too, the multi burst crashing into her with ferocity.

[break][break] they are all returned to their pokeballs, and flynn walks over to the silver-haired man. he clasps the other's shoulder. "good fight, man."

[break][break] not that he cares. he's got no skin in the game.

[attr="class","flynn"] it's Melody Miro appearance that actually breaks up the fight. at the appearance of the celebrity, the two boys turn bright red. they stammer something - ILOVEYOUMELODYHIME - and then run away.

[break][break] Flynn blinks, mouth breaking into a wry smile. "You've got quite the influence, huh?"
