Far from sneaking into bars, Lilith wonders if he's only had those experiences due to his sheer ignorance of what a bar was at the time. Regardless, her eyes narrow at the comment, a comforting pat given to Hex as she watches her opponent pocket 3 more balls.

With his failure comes opportunity, one so tightly grasped as she swallows any spiteful words she may have held for the insult. The 7-ball is shot in effortlessly then her eyes turn to the prize, a moment taken to catch her breath as she lines up her shot.

"And that's game over." The black ball dances across the table, neat in its waltz as it sinks into the pocket without a bounce. "You might also want to check if the person you just hit is okay..."

[attr="class","hanatext"]Being naive sure is a blessing, how those words linger on her mind, a light grimace quietly hidden as she turns her face towards the sea. While there are those who also volunteer to help out with this clean up, she can never quite be certain of their motives behind their actions - To gain a few extra street credits? To earn a little extra money? To provide them a platform by which they can boast of their chivalry? At least those who don't really care about the state of the beach are open about it and in turn, she may openly hate them back.

Silence is the only answer she provides, a gentle nod of acknowledgement given as she places Yule back onto the ground and receives the water bottle with open hands. It isn't quite her business to go around bursting the bubbles of those around her. Whether they are ever faced with the true nature of reality or she is to be proven wrong about the kinds of people that exist, she finds it easier to get by in life when she keeps her cynicism to herself. And that thought is only reinforced as she watches the two Vulpix begin to prance around each other, with Yule finally tagging Lumi into the sand.

With how calm everything seems to be, she almost forgets why she's here at all. But just before she can truly take a moment to relax, her attention is snagged by a rather chilling sight - A lone, injured Audino moored amidst a lapping ocean tide. It's as if something possesses her within those few seconds, the girl rapidly scrambling to her feet and closing the distance.

Why do they always…

Though she's conscious of the scars that mar her skin, there's something about this situation that pushes her to remove her jacket, a child's understanding of discomfort meaning the prioritisation of providing the Audino warmth. Her gaze darts across the healer's body, grasping for any and all injuries as she tries her best to determine what she should do next.

Humans really are the worst.

From the way he swings the stick, Lilith is more or less able to ascertain his hobby, an apologetic wince shot towards whoever may have ducked just to save themselves. "It's not talking smack if it's just a fact. And shouldn't you be worried if a twelve year old snuck into a bar?"

With her comment comes Hex's dastardly snicker, a laugh so awkwardly foul that he nearly slips off the pool table. Giving the mimikyu a soft bonk on the head, Lilith merely lines up for her next shot.

Once again, she falls short on her fourth shot, a quiet hum drawn out as she surveys the remaining balls on the table. Even if she doesn't make it to the next round, she's at least putting up a decent fight with this little tournament.

Quietly kicking off the wall, Lilith can't quite tell if she's feeling relieved or disappointed - Perhaps, it's a mix of both emotions, though she isn't sure why. In any case, she's tilting her head, a million questions crossing her mind especially regarding how Tony seems to be holding his cue stick. But she's a little too polite to ask if he knows what he's doing, a little too nervous to draw attention to herself that she simply allows him to break first.

"Lil." With how he's introduced himself, Lilith figures it's only right to offer a name in kind, her grip on her cue stick alternating between loose and tight as she watches his every move. "Try not to kill the person behind you with that." Carefully gesturing to the cue stick Tony wields, she hopes that she doesn't have to be witness to an accidental murder tonight.

The 5 ball goes in without any hiccups, a quiet sigh escaping her as she lines up for her second shot.

"Guess I'm solids."

Contrary to expectations, she manages to pocket 2 more (6 & 2 ball) but she finally misses, a slight miscalculation causing the 1 ball to bounce harmlessly off the side. Though she's squinting at how she whiffed, Hex is celebrating her little achievement with excitable jumps, his head bobbing up and down as he sits on the edge of the pool table.

Lilith knows that look that Hex gives her, that quiet tilt of his head as he carefully sways in the corner of her vision. Despite her best attempts to avoid wandering into the city more than necessary, she finds herself lured back to the streets of Slateport once more, sticking close to the walls as she slips through the crowd with ease. Perhaps it's the ocean, that salty sea breeze and crashing tides that draws her into the port, that rhythmical ebb and flow of crystal clear water as the skylines dance with a kaleidoscopic shawl. In the end, the only answer she has is a shrug and a wordless headpat, her attention lingering on the numerous shop displays as they soon slip out of sight.

Before things slip their mind, Hex calls out to her with a rather strange noise, an unnatural call almost akin to the crackling of electricity as he bops his head against her cheek, a black tendril extending from beneath his cloak as he directs her attention to a small restaurant up ahead. "Hungry?" She's certain of the nod the Mimikyu gives, her arms slightly tensed as she prepares to catch him if he falls.

"We'll figure something out..." Reassurance is the only thing that she can give, half a mind still lingering on the money she has left. Amidst mapping routes and exploring the region, Lilith's barely gotten any time to search for a job, much less earn any sum of money to offset the cost of supplies she recently bought. "Maybe it's time to…"

She lingers on the thought for longer than she'd like, her eyes dulling as her expression fades to nothingness. Then, she snaps back with a quiet jolt, an unspeakable sadness worn upon her lips as she reminds herself not to traverse that path ever again. But just as she's drowning in her thoughts, her attention is ensnared by the sound of metal clattering against the ground, her gaze drawn to the source as she stares it straight in the eye -

"Did you just… steal that?"

[attr="class","hanatext"]Whether influenced by upbringing or personal choice, every person has their own unique speech pattern, especially when they attempt to lie. For Rowan, his expressions are an open book, one that she gladly takes her time to scour through to catch even a glimpse of his many hidden secrets.

"I mean, you can be nice when you want to." Perhaps, she's being overly blunt in how she addresses his concerns, years of relative isolation dulling her interpersonal skills. "Rarely do people go for jerks with attitudes, so you've at least got something going for you." Do such words really count as reassurance? Though uncertain if her words hold an edge, Lilith chooses to discontinue the conversation lest she ends up wounding a man's pride. Ah, but she immediately encounters her next obstacle, a lack of information regarding Rowan's fated encounter.

So the trail goes cold… Or so she imagines, the flushed cheeks and forceful jolt only providing her with more questions that she can't possibly retrieve answers for. "Are they nice?" Instead of searching for things that she can't find, Lilith's content with narrowing things down. "Do they flirt with a lot of people? Or are they already seeing someone else?" With all the questions she's asking, she almost seems like a mother hen fretting over a child but her heart can't help but worry. Even if she doesn't have a name or a description to go off just yet, she'll find out their identity soon enough - All she needs for now is to be sure that Rowan hasn't ensnared himself with the wrong company.

Humming softly at the little mistake, Lilith can't help but pat herself on the back for the successful interrogation. For the sake of Rowan's dignity, however, she instead turns her gaze back to Rubia, offering the Wooloo an extra snack just to ensure she's full.

"Cat's out of the bag, huh?" She presses once more, patiently awaiting an answer. "Whether you're pleasant or not, he clearly took an interest in you." In the midst of all her questioning, Lilith might have been a little too intrigued by this topic to have ignored the need to reassure Rowan that he was fine as he was.

"So what's he like? He's clearly your type by the way you're reacting… Or perhaps…" Her eyes gleam with a rare mischief, "you've held hands and kissed…?" Reaching out to pat Mistral, she presents him a small offering of a lollipop, ready to enlist his help if so needed. Arceus knows that this is gonna be a long night.

Expenses have been rather tight lately and she knows that her trainer is in somewhat of a pinch. Hence, she had jumped at the first opportunity for a job, a small huff of mist exhaled from her nose as she remembers how she dragged a loose flyer and slid it right into Lilith's hands.

Though she's placed on the ground and allowed to go work her magic, Yule can't help but look back at her trainer and offer her a reassuring nuzzle. Everything's gonna be okay as long as she's here! Bounding over to her position, her gaze flickers over the stage set, her tail swaying to the rhythm of the music as she turns to face the camera on cue - All she has to do now is act cute, right?

That's the only thought that she can process amidst this entire conversation, a grumpy Piplup garnering more attention by misting the entire grounds while her Wooloo gets lectured by a rising star. Arceus, she swears she's ready to put everything behind her and go back to prying into Rowan's love life as long as she can be anywhere else but here. Watching as Melody Miro gently squishes Rubia's cheeks, Lilith's shrinking further into her jacket, her gaze fluttering from one side to another as she seeks a way out of this mess. What else is she supposed to say to this social butterfly? That was a great performance? I liked your song? She had barely listened to the music that was blasting during that concert...

"Pretty... I mean uhm! Pink suits you..." There is a reason why she isolates herself from crowds, her cheeks burning up as she averts her gaze from Melody. With the idol's fan present, Lilith's almost afraid to ask any questions, as if expecting a lecture for not knowing anything about this beauty in the limelight. What's more, the singer is quick to offer a group photo, one that she's ready to skip out on if only to remain a passing face in the crowd. Thankfully, Rowan's unwittingly got her back, dragging her attention back to him as he carefully hands her a portion of food.

"I mean... No one was expecting to wrangle wild pokemons... Much like you meeting that special person." Is she overstepping her boundaries with this? Gently placing Rubia onto the ground, Lilith sets down her plate and takes a seat right beside the Wooloo, waiting for yet another claim of ignorance as she takes a bite. She knows that he's blushed in response to her question, understands that there are hidden reasons to his denial and definitely wants to know more about the mysterious figure. "Are they nice...? Or do I have to ask Mistral about your certain someone?"

[attr="class","hanatext"]Rarely does Lilith know the meaning of madness but in those moments that she experiences mania, she can always pinpoint one common factor: The root cause is any of her pokemon. Listening to Rubia insistent wails on getting a move on, she tries her best to ignore the gremlin, simply giving her a little bop on the head as she takes a step towards the snack store. Heaven knows how many pairs of eyes have fixated their attention onto her, a quiet sigh leaving her as she closes her eyes to the world.

"What do you feel like getting?" The question is popped and quickly answered, the excitable Wooloo swinging her hoof at her favourite snack as she loudly bleats at the shopkeep. "Oh... and uhm... I'll take these..." Flashing the vendor a sheepish grin, Lilith swipes up a few lollipops from the counter before averting her gaze. Though the man returns what seems to be an understanding smile, Lilith can't help but reckon he's only being nice due to their patronage.

As the store owner turns his attention to getting the Wooloo what she wants, Lilith can't help but notice the odd duo standing beside her, an engineer and that singer that was performing on stage just moments before. Ignorance is often the best way to go when dealing with strangers but it seemed that life just didn't feel like being kind to her today. Before she realises what's going on, Rubia's already attempting to reach out, her maws wide open as she tries to take a snap at that brightly-coloured hair.

With a strangled screech, Lilith separates her companion from impending doom, panic written all over her face as she attempts to diffuse the situation. "I- uhm... sorry! S- she's just a little hungry... and probably thought... uhm... your hair was cotton candy?"

From being ran down by a Tauros herd and nearly being injured by Tapu Bulu to having to explain to a stranger why there's a Wooloo eating their hair... Maybe festivals just aren't her thing.

[attr="class","hanatext"]"L- lummox?" Her lips curl at such an insult, the sheer audacity of the boy to use such awkwardly refined words in her presence. Old habits really do die hard, she guesses. Though he's chosen to run from home and distance himself from the reputation of his family, he can't quite seem to hide that pretentious status. "It's just something you learn... the longer you travel..." From treating scratches and mild poisoning to setting bones and stitching gashes, there's really no limit to what she can do with regards to treating herself. All that really matters is the quality of work that she can produce with such limited knowledge and unskilled hands. "You should probably... learn it sometimes..."

He cares, Rowan claims. From the reaction he has, both of them are rather iffy on this matter, unused to the idea of looking out for another person after isolating themselves for so long. Though uncertain if she'd be able to offer the same kind of assistance he did, Lilith reckons she might feel something if he gets injured, perhaps even get her hands dirty if those wounds were the work of another human being... Or she might do nothing at all.

It's her cynicism that bubbles to the surface first: A cold, calculative creature that's counting the benefits and pinning the motives of those around them. Even after all the time they've spent together, she isn't quite sure how she feels about having Rowan as a companion and perhaps, she may never know. She shelves those thoughts for now, a quiet snicker passing her lips as Mistral dismisses his trainer for the slander.

"Why would I be on a date?" Her question flows naturally, a sheen of curiosity coating her words as she squints at him. "I'm not really interested in having a partner... and I've never really met anyone that I've like-liked." Romance isn't her strong suit but Lilith at least knows enough to rebutt such a joke. "Weren't you the one that said you had someone?"

With a loud bleat, Rubia snatches her attention back, her hooves waving at the candy store nearby as she squirms about. You can talk on your way there! Those actions speak, the Wooloo calling out to Mistral as she points once more at a takoyaki stand. Perhaps, if one pokemon making a ruckus isn't enough, two screaming gremlins will be enough to convince them.
