[attr="class","hanatext"]Sometimes, she wonders if a pokemon's ability to discern emotions and hearts are a little too invasive for her liking. That isn't to say that she despises them for their natural gifts but rather, she's a tad concerned as to what they may dig up should they pry deep enough. While her heart remains closed and her lips remain sealed, her scars paint a very vivid picture in the minds of those who recognise such markings. And while she may understand that empathy is but a human reaction to the pain, she finds herself shying away from such notions wherever she can.

The presence of the Gallade is acknowledged with wide eyes, uncertainty traced against her movements as she looks at the hand he offers. In her mind, she knows that this is probably the companions of one of the League representatives but her heart tells her to be cautious nonetheless. In fact, she's caught off guard by the approaching footsteps, her body already shifting out of the way by pure instinct alone before the request even reaches her ears.

"I'm sorry..." She whispers as the woman passes by, her eyes following the trail she takes as the mist somewhat begins to thin out up ahead. And that's when she spots her first signs of trouble, attention falling upon the raised phone as it whips in her direction. Even though she's certain the mist might distort her identity, she still turns away from the shot, keeping Rubia out of the picture and waiting for a moment until settles down.

The last thing she needs is for them to snatch even a possible lead to her whereabouts.

Taking a deep breath to ease her frazzled nerves, Lilith finally gathers the courage to pose her questions. "Are you with them...? The League, I mean..." Though her voice isn't quite as loud as before, it's audible for the Gallade standing right before her. In her arms, Rubia wrestles for the right to walk on her own feet, finally hopping to the ground and rounding her trainer to nudge her forward. And perhaps, that is exactly what Lilith needs - A decisive mind that encourages her to let go of her fears and take that next step.

She never quite dares to take the hand of the Gallade, but she's behind him every step of the way, stopping just before the trio and finding herself tongue-tied. As long as no one introduces themselves, she reckons it's probably better if she remains on the sidelines for now - Wouldn't want to be interrupting important discussions, right?

[attr="class","hanatext"]Though Slateport is known to be a flourishing city full of tourists and attractions, the world is dyed in another colour of liveliness and activity with nightfall - A bazaar becomes a night market full of strange wares and unspoken pleas for people to fall for ripened scams. The fighting ring comes to life with high-stakes gamblers and an audience thirsty for action. Even if she doesn't remember anything close to pokemon battles occurring, this very sight is highly reminiscent of the Vital Spirit Festival that had taken place just a few months ago.

Speaking of the festival, Lilith recalls crossing paths with someone she'd never expected to meet again. In her years of travelling, she's never been known to associate with people too closely lest she leaves a trail for unwanted company to follow. And yet, every shred of that sentiment seems to dissipate when it comes to . Awkward, slightly prideful but a good person nonetheless, Rowan is the very definition of a blessing that she's had the luck of receiving, an odd but trustworthy companion she'd met in her time in Galar right before her hurried departure. In some sense, he feels like a mirror of her existence, bound by the blood that runs through his veins and ensnared in a fate he'd never asked for.

And so, she had offered him the idea of running, leaving everything behind and escaping from the grasps that threatened to suffocate him. As irresponsible as it may have been, she was certain that he would have preferred to see the world from an unfiltered lens and experience what it had to offer compared to the comforts of the bird cage he'd been kept in. Or at least, that's what she tells herself if only to quell the unease that sits heavy on her chest.

"Do you think he's still doing okay? Not forgetting to eat or sleep... right?" Quiet are the words that consult the Mimikyu, a lose shake of his head indicating that it's anyone's guess as the duo slink through the crowded streets. In the end, she can't help but give in to the voices in her head, daring to send Rowan a quick text message to ask if they can meet up somewhere just for fun.

Her only hope is that he doesn't forget.

[attr="class","hanatext"]What does it mean when you can't quite understand an object related to your own profession? As a young botanist who's gained experience and knowledge from many regions, Lilith figures that she might be able to decipher the meaning behind the carrots seeds she had received from the Vital Spirit Festival. But so far, she's draw blanks on how to nurture it, recognised that normal soil and conditions required for the growth of regular carrots doesn't quite allow it to flourish.

So what's next? It's obvious that she lacks something in terms of sprouting conditions and the only option she's left with is to explore the extreme regions and scout around for clues. While the volcanic ashes Mount Pyre may do good for nutritionally needy agriculture, she's much more inclined to try her luck in the frigid expanse of Shoal Cave before subjecting herself to the smouldering atmosphere.

"It's nice, isn't it?" Her voice comes out in wispy breaths, her gaze sweeping over the crystalline surfaces of the cavern as she listens to the skittering footsteps of her Vulpix up ahead. Just like her previous visit to this location, she's somewhat underprepared for the chill that gnaws at her bones, exposed fingers gently curling into her palm as she rubs her knuckles against her other hand. "Try not to stray too far, okay?"

[attr="class","hanatext"]For someone who's travelled numerous regions and weathered numerous seasons, you would have figured that they're well-prepared for any situation that greets them. And yet, Lilith isn't necessarily the embodiment of such traits, bare fingers carefully tightening the bandages round her forearms as she readjusts her jacket sleeves to better cover them. While not quite preparing her for the chilly breeze that emanates from the depths of Shoal Cave, her clothes definitely provide her with ease of movement especially in precarious situations.

"I know I asked you on a whim, but you didn't have to agree to it..." She remains quiet about the remnants of the smouldering cigarette, awkwardly shifting about as she watches Rubia trot up to the man and greet him with a bleat. "I don't know if surveying the area would be interesting for you..." As much as she hates to admit it, she finds herself encroaching on his kindness, taking liberties with her requests and finding comfort in conversing with him. In a sense, he's one of the first few people that have coaxed her out of her shell and allowed her to let her guard down without having to worry about her safety at any point in time.

While the world is certainly filled with strange, unexplainable phenomena, many of them have revolved around miracles granted by legendary pokemons or spirits that watch over them. She recalls reading the stories about the dozens of deities that created these lands, gingerly flipping through yellowed pages as they list the properties of every single part of their being - Flesh of the undying, horns of rejuvenation, will of wishes, blood of the forsaken...

Gentle is the nudge against her ankles, worry blanketed over that fragile body as the Wooloo quietly bleats. This isn't what they choose to live for, her blood shouldn't be the reason she hesitates before the edge. And she acknowledges the concern, picking Rubia up in her arms as she carefully trudges on ahead.

"I'm okay..." She whispers, burying her face into soft wool and soaking in the delicate scent of pine. "We're just here to help out today." Well, if helping out meant obtaining a bargaining chip for her freedom... Shaking her head clear of such thoughts, Lilith is most definitely cautious about where she steps, the heavy mist threatening to steal her sense of direction as she carries on towards her destination. A misstep can mean a tumble, a scrapped knee, a broken rib from tumbling down the hill - The more she lingers on the possibilities, the more she finds herself hating herself for not finding anyone to help guide her.

"Hello...?" Her voice is weak, cracked by a lack of usage as her heart threatens to jump out of her chest. "Is anyone from the League here? I'm here to help... with the collection of samples..."

It's good for the Audino, not for us. Silence grips herself like a heavy veil, swathing her in a tumult of emotions as her heart sinks. One visit can't hurt. She pulls herself to her feet, consciously brushing the scars that litter her arms as she beckons Yule to follow. We'll be gone within hours anyways. She promises herself, already prepping any excuses she might have to leave early and cover as much ground as she possibly can.

"Okay..." She agrees, but she knows those words are empty. In the face of unforgotten memories, nothing she says can be taken as the whole truth. "Hope they're not too busy..."

Her steps are quick, hastened by the gentle wave of nausea that washes over her. Everything should be fine as long as she leaves no traces...

[attr="class","hanatext"]It's strange how the heart speaks more words than the mind itself, a wishful gesture translating into a newfound bond to be treasured. The Galarian Ponyta trots alongside them, her hooves rhythmically tapping the ground as Eclipse and Yule weave in between them.

Careful - It's something that is heard without being said. Agile as they may be, Lilith is still rather careful when it comes to injuries they might sustain. With her lack of desire to visit a pokecentre under any circumstances, first-aid can only do so much for them…

But her thoughts never have the chance to stick around for long, a small creature wandering into their paths as the hyperactive trio slows to a halt. Her mind is quick to recognise the soft pink that colours its body, her hands instinctively reaching for her pouch of berries as she kneels down to observe the Shellos closer.

With the Minior fully fed and satisfied, she catches them with a pokeball, tucking it into her pouch as she ignores the whines of disappointment from the duo. After all, she knows that they'll be distracted and forget about it all in due time, her finger tucking loose strands of hair behind her ears as she sighs.

Sure enough, the two vulpines begin to bark wildly, hopping about with an infectious madness to welcome their newfound victim - A beautiful Galarian Ponyta. Lilith remembers that Rowan has one of his own, a blessed stallion by the name of Wonder.

Hope they're well…

As with her ritual of befriending new pokemons, Lilith begins with an offering of berries and a gentle smile.
