hello yes i know he's not in your plotter but still! having rolled him on egf, i thought it would be fun for jak to pesker arthur being a galar prince and all. unleeesssss he's not publicly known to be. if the latter's the case then maybe a chance encounter would work, maybe put him on edge knowing jak's a journalist and all that who may pry into his business :eyes:

With a defeated look to his face, Jak handed the sword over towards the blacksmith. He gave the blacksmith a bow of courtesy and a nervous grin to show that he was, in fact, sorry for the way he acted. He gave his opponent a squint and a similarly nervous grin. "Well there's that." He sighed.

"I myself seem to have not much time" He shrugged. "But I do like to continue. I propose a sparring match with our pokemon sometime." He suggested. Jak handed over his burner phone towards Kyle with its contacts list open.

"I'll give you a ring once I'm free." He added, his arm stretch forward with his phone. "I've got to submit my resume in a while for my new job."

"Sirs I-" "Sir Jak of Jubilife!" He exclaimed, unintentionally cutting the blacksmith off once more. With another clash of blades, Jak's overhead attack was parried. As the other returned to his stance, so did Jak, sizing his opponent as he held his blade before him.

"Well met, sir Kyle!" He said, completely engrossed with the whole renaissance theme of their surroundings.

"Can I please get the swords back..." The blacksmith finally said, evidently miffed with how the acted thus far.

He felt the earth beneath him shake, something's amiss, he thought; that was when a loud warning was given to him from afar, just in time for Jak to turn and see his impending doom. "Mother f-" The loud rumble of the oncoming torrent of earth had cut his cuss. "Yo, give me a beat!" He exclaimed in a hurry as he covered his ears and hid behind the exploud.

The exploud's mouth opened wide and faced the incoming wall of earth as a focused blast of soundwaves came shooting out of its mouth. The loud, and ever so destructive boomburst came crashing against the wall of earth the donphan's bulldoze had made, ending in an explosion of earth and rock.

"Holy-!" He exclaimed, still unable to clearly see who, or what, was responsible for the whole commotion as dirt and dust invaded his eyes. "What in fuck's sake is going on!?"

"Wassshhhaa!" He exclaimed as he swung his sword vertically, parrying the blade off of its trail.

'CLING'

The blacksmith had his eyes wide open, in shock for sure, and raised a finger in hopes to intervene. "Uhm I-" "Hah! Art thou the mighty warrior of thy region? I beseech thee to speak thy name!" Jack said, cutting the blacksmith off before he could even blurt out a few more words

Jak swung the blade overhead, headed towards the top of Kyle's head, though just as slow as what he had recieved; enough for his opponent to dodge and parry as he may please. Just what was he doing, playing warrior with a real sword of all things? Either way, not that it was a problem for the blacksmith... right?

It was a good catch, but surely that wasn't it, right? Hoping to capture more, Jak decided to stay a little longer along the route before his trek back to town. He recalled his gastly, who did great work on the salazzle, and instead opted to switch to Beatz, his exploud, to deal with the next batch of pokemon that he may find.

It's hot, no doubt, most likely due to the volcanic activity nearby and the influx of fire type pokemon as of late. The rocky path didn't make route 112 the easiest place to traverse either. All these elements were enough to ache his already tired body; perhaps a dip at the hot springs would be a good idea should he return to lavaridge after his hunt.

Determined to catch new strong additions for his team, Jak went on his merry way in search for more pokemon, perhaps even a new acquaintance should he happen to meet some along the way.

"Hoooo weeee." He whistled. It seemed as though his move to Hoenn were just in time for the renaissance faire. To think that there were still celebratory events in spite of all the crazy happenings seemed a tad bit too off for Jak, but he's not complaining.

The blacksmith nearby held a showcase of various weaponry. Seeing that someone's already testing the blacksmith's products, Jak thought that it would be a miss to pass the opportunity of trying out an actual traditionally forged sword. He went up the blacksmith's wares and, without much heads up, picked up a blade from the immediate display.

The blacksmith nodded and guestured towards the other man who's now busy swinging the sword around, it was as if to say that he's free to test the blade out himself. It had a darker blade than the rest, perhaps even thinner than most, yet it had length to it. It was incredibly light, he gave it a test swing and it was as if swinging a roll of paper.

He gave it more swings and, accidentally, had hit the blade being tested by the other man with a mighty...

Well that was fast, he thought. He gave Spooks the gastly a nod which then promted the ghost type to launch a shadow ball towards the lizard. The salazzle retaliates with a fire lash of its own, however, gastly immediately recovered, firing hypnosis once it had regained its balance.

"Good find." He uttered to himself and threw an empty ball towards the lizard.

New ventures call for new allies. Without much else to do, Jak took his well deserved free time to search for pokemon to call his own. His small party of three coming with him from all the way back from Sinnoh were all with the up and coming journalist for this journey.

The Vantage reporter might be very new to Hoenn, someone who had literally migrated just a few weeks past, yet still he knew what transpired thanks to his research. Seeing his boss be on edge, struck by the curious crowd with questions and accusations; he thought it was now or never to start with his own line of questions.

"I propose we back track a little here." Jak said, raising his voice from the crowd of journalists who are frantically going about their jobs. "Shouldn't a question be raised on why the league allowed the execution of little root's beauty contest in the first place? And shouldn't the theatre, before anything else, have been closed for public access to be investigated with regards to what the tree is and how it suddenly came to be? Safety and investigation should have been the first line of thought, not have a contest where people would flock around on this unidentified, and potentially dangerous, tree. That said, is the league not accountable for the injuries and casualties of this incident?"

"Another question; how would the league handle the surge of avatars? And what would the course of action be should someone undesirable were to gain the privilege of becoming one?."
