Everyone moves and it's a bit disorienting, but the researcher is determined not to be left behind, if he was to compete then he was to give it his best. His appearance on the route has become as common as a wild pokemon. Were he not buried in a lab or out with Stormy chances were Miles was here honing his pokemon and his body in the wilderness becoming stronger with each trip. How long they stay like that hidden in the fog he's unable to say, but in time a ding comes from beyond informing the two that their time together had come to an end. Reality's grip begins to tear into their lives as is its nature.

Killian Decker was at first glance a very intimidating man, even more, intimidating than Merlino at first glance. He knows nothing about Decker, but then again that was his job. Killian Decker was the head of Intel and espionage in the organization and other than the fact he spent a more than fair amount of time with Alexandra Briarwood he was a ghost for all intents and purposes.

Thankfully for all his transcience, the man is at least conversational regardless of how genuine his words may have been. "It's a pleasure to have good company, I may even be lucky enough to learn something about the famed Killian Decker if I'm lucky of course." The tone remains light as they watch from the shadows. "I believe the job is simple enough, I plan to get a sample from one of the main excavation veins and a few of the stones for testing purposes. Think it's feasible to manage that while staying under the radar? I'd prefer to keep my head out of the limelight for this one, if possible of course." It was what it was and Decker was the more experienced field agent by far. In this decision, he'd defer to his senior's experience. In truth, Miles had little inclination to hurt scientists because they happened to be in the way after all in another life he was one of those scientists.

When he's anxious, and fear begins to cloud she's there. It's an odd feeling to have someone with him like this, but he can't see himself shrinking away from it, shrinking away from her. "I feel bad, you always seem to be the one easing my concerns, and here I thought you'd be able to lean on me a little today." It's a joke of course, but like lies, the best jokes always had a hair of truth in them.

"We're always glad to see a healthy Stormy." His free hand would reach to pet the trapinch who leaned forward before moving across the stone to Stormy's side. Happy to be in the mix between the two in any capacity. "Rude." His eye follows the pokemon to the woman's side before answering her question.

"I was promoted." It's an unsure statement but it's accompanied by a smile. A promotion allowed him deeper access to his organization's resources it also increased his pull within his people as a whole, but at the same time, it's trapped him to an extent. He's bonded further with the organization as a whole and untying himself would already have proved difficult even prior to his promotion. "My research is apparently valued and I think we'll be able to help a lot of people, once we get it off the ground." He hints further choosing his words carefully; his indecision could be felt in the way his fingers curled around hers searching for safety within her fingertips. Stormy had begun to make him feel secure unconsciously and that was dangerous.

"I attended a gathering with my colleagues from other departments soon after the promotion. In our discussions I've begun to have concerns that the goals of my colleagues don't quite align with my own." His grip loosens slightly as he takes a deep breath, "but I suppose that's natural for any job, no?"

It was like a class or perhaps a show? A performance that swore it was predicting the future judging by the movements of the leads. They dance, they fight they twirl into the night. Miles has little interest in the fairy type generally they're out of his field of expertise, And while he admired their grace from a distance at times never did he feel compelled to interact with one personally. Tonight's different he's become entranced in their grace and so he takes the plunge throwing a pokeball out into the den of powerful fairies. Even he could get lucky from time to time.

The main decides to attack the bulbasaur the poison forcing itself into its veins before it fully collapses a pokeball following soon after. Pain for the purpose of pain was abhorrent, but it was something Backett relished in or at least was more than willing to utilize for the sake of himself. Miles says nothing, refusing to even turn and face the man his fingers hidden in his pocket had long since curled into a fist. He chooses to focus on the question instead.

However, the pokemon wasn't nearly as versatile as it'd been upon coming into Miles' possession. From his moves to his tactics all those were instilled by the trainer. He had to give the Emporer credit to a degree, the pokemon had found its base style on its own, a style that dealt particularly with his hardiness. The pokemon was made to take and receive as opposed to focusing on dodging. He was built to counter and Miles recognized and capitalized on that.

He returns to Beckett's question eyes surveying the area for his next fight. "Yes." He's sure the man doesn't care about the minutiae and so he answers simply. "Is it the same for your crobat." He asks only to confirm the merciless nature of the elder rocket's pokemon was attributed to Beckett himself.
