groudon (-) drought - precipice blades, eruption, earthquake, solar beam, fire blast, hammer arm, thunder, dragon claw

a wave of hatred washes over them as jayden cross approaches, further tilting the scales against them. they spew venom and cancer but it is not matias that deserves it.[break][break]

"look around you, idiot," he spits back, "i'm the one that's going to save hoenn."[break][break]

the jutted earth spikes, regardless of whether they find purchase or not, are not left there without purpose. seconds later, right as jayden cross's hateful blizzard ignites their way, the earth spikes explode, creating a cacophony of colorful explosions, each one heightened by the drought above.[break][break]

through it all, matias and annalise henderson remain safe, aided by Josh Devlin's reflect, and by mew's transformation into palkia which is almost enough to tilt the scales back in their favor. but he knows they are fighting a losing battle, outnumbered but not outmatched. it is time that they do not have.[break][break]

"we're losing."[break][break]

but that doesn't mean they're going to lose. as long as he remains standing, he will fight until the very end for the city he had once condemned. now, he will save it.[break][break]

feeling a surge of familiar primal energy, matias sends out another wave of earth spikes, and as they explode once more, so too does a pokeball.[break][break]

the drought intensifies. the ground beneath them rises, keeping the water at bay while the ashen white further dulls as though eroded by time. desolate land paves the path.[break][break]

no false sun mutes them this time as groudon rises, parting the sea to summon a surge of precipice blades that for a moment look as though it would hit freya morningstar and rayquaza but they stop just shy to pierce into the underside of kyogre.[break][break]

groudon rushes forward, attempting to feed off the primal energy as it intends on squaring off against its prehistoric rival.[break][break]

"anyone able needs to support freya and rayquaza now!"[break][break]

as the explosions around them die down, matias is left vulnerable, his focus divided and compromised. in the back of his mind, he hopes illeana reyes arrives in time.[break][break]

struck by a similar relief, matias turns away from the fleeing civilians, intent on following through with the rest of freya morningstar's order. but as attacks from Hitoshi Inoue, Alba Evovae, and fern delaney come their way, he realizes there is only so much he can do.[break][break]

another order from freya morningstar sounds in his ear, further dividing him. but as he looks over at fern delaney, perhaps there is not much division needed.[break][break]

desolate land spreads underneath him, turning ashen white into earthen clay, parting the heavy clouds above enough for a drought to break through. pokeballs burst, and in charizard's place is a walking wake.[break][break]

hydro steam fires at fern delaney's tapu koko, walking wake empowered by protosynthesis.[break][break]

earth spikes erupt at Hitoshi Inoue, Alba Evovae, and fern delaney.[break][break]

matias moves to annalise henderson's side.[break][break]
