It was the way Vic said it that made Claude gain interest. He tilted his head and raised an eyebrow at the man, ”Back then?”. Claude knew what it meant, but he wanted to know why. Why the person suddenly stopped challenging gyms and ‘stuffs’.

He chuckled at his brother’s attempted remark. He would never live down the moment Lars freaked out when he saw two of Claude. The younger man rested his head on the couch while petting the Zorua that was on his lap. He still needed to recover from the hangover.

Though what he did notice was a shirtless Lars walking out the door. It was very peculiar. But whatever, he just assumed that his brother was a shameless person.

When Lars returned, Claude looked up from his short rest, ”Pshh, whatever. You clearly did not learn anything last night,” he mentioned. Claude literally did not care what breakfast he got. He was also not a heavy eater, a fruit would already do for him.

Though despite his own words, and perhaps his own thoughts. His face brightened up when he saw the sandwich. ”Thank you, thank you big brother,” he said with glee as his hands reached for the frappe and the sandwich.

As he bit through his sandwich, he asked Lars, ”Not to be rude, but can’t you make your own breakfast?”, Claude had always find it easier to fix his own meal than rely on others to do it. That way he can do it the way he wants it. Plus he did not like to rely on other people.

Who would know. Mistralton was not far from Driftveil City at all. In fact they were just neighbouring cities. Claude gave another look at Vic. The other man seemed to be older than him. He listened to the man while twirling the glass around, the ice inside clanked lightly against each other as he did.

”Only for work. Why do you travel?” he redirected the spotlight back to the man. He didn’t really feel like talking much. He just wanted to drink, and so that was what he did as he consumed more of the alcoholic beverage.

Claude covered his ears to lessen the pain his brother’s shouting was inducing, ”Jeez chill out, you never asked,”. He then walked over to the couch as instructed. His doppelganger followed him.

The man dropped himself on the couch and the Zorua turned itself back to its original form. It jumped onto its owners lap and rested there.

When Lars returned, Claude didn’t wait any longer. ”Give me,” he said as he snatched the pill right off his brother and popped it into his mouth, swallowing it with one gulp.

”Ahh...” he let out a breath of relief as the pill began to take effect. He and his Zorua both perked up when the phone rings, ”You know how you treat your guests,” he replied with a grin.

Most people would leave him alone after he answered with only a yes to a question. But not this guy. In fact, the guy seemed to think that he wanted a friend.

Claude turned his brooding face at the smiling guy. He took in the other’s appearances, judging his every trait. After a while, he decided to humour the candy looking person. As long as his privacy is not being nosed on, he will play nice.

”You from Unova?”, he asked before taking another sip of the drink, eyes fixed on Vic.

Had it not been a good night, Claude would have ignored the man. But because he didn’t want to ruin his mood, he decided to play along with whatever the guy was playing.

”Yes.”, he answered with his most gentle tone.

The bartender returned with his drink, its dark and brown complexion suggested to Claude that it was rum and coke. He brought the glass up to his nose, ’A fruity smell,’. He then lightly pressed the cold surface of the glass on his lips, tipping it slightly to let the drink fall into his mouth. ’Yep, definitely rum and coke,’.

He noticed the bartender shaking his head at the pink-haired guy. A smirk formed on his face. He found the gesture amusing, though he was grateful for it as well. As he could tell that the guy was born annoying.

His body froze and his eyes widened. It was as if all the alcohol had been flushed out from his system as he tried to process what he just saw and heard. As if the person in front of him was a ghost.

”What the fuck are you doing here,”.

He ignored the question entirely. His veins were filled with adrenaline. He did not know whether he should be scared or thankful. It was all too confusing and too sudden, he was not prepared for any of this.

He didn’t feel like dressing up, so he left the house wearing denim shorts and a white tee, with a golden necklace as accessory. The man decided to walk over to the bar while enjoying the nice balmy breeze beneath the night sky. There wasn’t much happening in Lily Cove, it was quiet. Just how he likes it.

The change in the atmosphere was noticeable once he entered the bar. It was more lively with chit chats and laughters. Claude didn’t mind the noise, as long as nobody messes with him.

”Surprise me Brian.” he said as he took the seat near the counter.

The bartender nodded as if he was used to it. Claude was a frequent customer at the bar and Brian, the bartender, knew what kind of a person Claude was. He knew not to talk back nor engage in idle chit chat.

Claude went through one of the drawers, desperate for any painkiller at that moment. Lars’ shouting did not help at all as Claude experienced a ringing pain every time Lars finishes his sentence.

He seethed, ”That’s just my Zorua, now painkiller please,” he begged. Which was very rare of him. But he did not care at that moment, all he wanted was for his brother to calm the fuck down and show him where he kept his damn painkillers.

Claude walked out of the room, wearing nothing but an underwear and a black tee he had worn from last night. Walking was a challenge for him as everything was spinning. Plus he did not know the layout of the house and navigating was not fun when you have a hungover.

He then finally entered the kitchen with a hand pressed on his head, passing through his clone like it was nothing. ”Where do you keep your aspirins?” he asked in all seriousness, he was not feeling good.

Claude could feel himself sighing from the moment he began to dress up. He didn’t want to do it but a big part of him insisted. The man walked out of his villa and into a cab he had called earlier. ”To Piazza Oro Grande please,”. The vehicle started moving and the man prepared himself mentally to meet with his father, something he had been doing all day long. [break][break]

The cab passed by streets and buildings and the backseat passenger gazed at the various forms of human architecture. Though his mind was in a different place entirely. Perhaps the reason why he was doing this was because the child inside him still craved the attention and affection from a parent. [break][break]

Not so long after, he arrived at the bank. The moment he had been preparing for was so near ahead, he couldn’t help but to feel his heartbeat race. [break][break]

Once he entered the building, he could already see the man he shared a bit of a resemblance with. As with any forms of social interactions, Claude shut everything down. Nobody can ever sense a form of weakness from him, he simply would not allow it. [break][break]

His movement was subtle, quiet, nimble footsteps. A few moments later he found himself sitting a seat away from his father. [break][break]

The figure that looked like Claude just kept staring down at the other man. It didn’t even blink. It’s gaze followed Lars to the kitchen, still looking at the eyes of the man, as if was demanding something.

While the real Claude had just steered awake by the sunlight that crept into the room. ”Ughhh,” he groaned, lifting the blankets up to his face to cover his eyes. Then the hungover hit him. An intense pain grew inside his head and his stomach. He could no longer sleep, he reached his arms at the bedside table, only to find that his aspirin and his water bottle was not there.

Then it dawned on him that he was not in his room. He sprang up. That was a big mistake as it intensified the pain in his head. ”Ouch...”. He looked around the room, and then remembered what happened last night. The last thing he remembered was playing some question drinking games with his older brother that he just met yesterday after so many years.

So he was either in his brother’s room, or in another man’s room he had slept with. And there was only one way to find out.
