standing in the midst of the crowd was doing her no favors. Siobhan would turn, but she collided with someone else in the process. the man was quick to apologize. she waved him off, shaking her head. really, she should have watched her surroundings better.

"it's no trouble."

strangely, she recognized him. was he not the new caretaker of Mt. Pyre? Siobhan saw it in a news report when she arrived in Hoenn. but that is not why she followed after him; he had a good idea. going to one of the walls, that is.

she would take a respectful distance between them, leaning against the wall near. if he chose to talk to her, he could expect idle conversation. but consider herself a bit quiet, watching the crowd still roaring from the performance.

being a criminal was very versatile. though the main export for Rocket was science, there were other things like Pokémon that brought in money. today, the news would advertise a set of valuable gems from Sinnoh. Lilycove's Department Store was to house them, already sold, until the next afternoon. apparently, a rich buyer had already paid full price for them.

time to move in.

Rocket had seen the news obviously. they wanted the gems to sell on the Black Market, and if they could get the money held in the vault that the buyer paid for? all the more reason to get going. Siobhan was a bit surprised to learn CIAN MAHER was a Rocket too, and that she was assigned him as a partner in this endeavor. she waited until the store was closed for the night, further patience needed waiting for him.

Siobhan dressed head to toe in black, her hair tied back to get out of her face. on her belt were six Pokeballs, just in case they were needed. various equipment loaned from Rocket was in a heavy bag by her feet. outside of the department store, she hid in the brush and eyed the security.

it was simple, as simple as the man in front of her with his direct speech. she does not appear concerned with the lack of badges compared to some. Siobhan faces the stage across from him, wondering what Pokemon he would call out. trying to make sure she was prepared for whatever came out.

"I just arrived in Hoenn" she would tell him. perhaps it didn't warrant an explanation but perhaps courtesy was in order "are you a Gym Leader, sir?" Siobhan would ask him politely enough, a lift of her brow at the brown haired man. he was to the point, which she appreciated. how far would that last?

these two were quite chatty.

Mint was unaware of the ruse, and she was not going to remind him of their values in Rocket. Siobhan did not want to tip off the League member, so she went along with it. the blue haired man sat beside her in the passenger's seat while Vic went in the back with the Slowpoke. "back roads are breeding grounds for criminal activity" she says to Mint "we take a direct route - more people along the way for witnesses."

and though risky with the police and rangers, it was better than being caught in the boonies somewhere. a flat tire. a slashed tire. or a slashed face. Siobhan put the vehicle into gear and drove forward, taking the main road back to Slateport. as she suspected, once they got onto the path there were others securely around them. nobody seemed to mind a truck and the Slowpoke.

"you know him well?" Siobhan would ask Mint of the pink haired man, both hands on the wheel and checking her four and twos.

come out of your shell mission

Siobhan Burke was infamously late to the party. perhaps ironic was a better turn. she walked in just in time for a drinking game. slightly amused by her timing, she stood back to watch the chaos. some would no doubt make asses of themselves. she was here for it.

though not knowing a great deal of the people, she stood out of their way. it was up to anyone to interact with her, tempt her into drinking or dancing or doing gods knew what else. she was not a hundred percent here for that - but would partake.

"I suppose you wish to battle?"

it was a simple response to his overly dramatic way of asking. Siobhan laid her eyes on the man from a brief distance, already being pin-pointed by him casually. when their eyes meet, she leisurely walks over. her arms crossed over her chest, eyeing him up and down with some sparse judgement. 

"I accept."

another simple response, before the man could reply properly perhaps. fiddling with the pearl-belt she wore over her wrap, containing her Pokeballs, Siobhan waited for him to call out a beast of his own. she could play, no problem. it was amusing someone would seek her out. how fun would this be?

before she knew it, the crowd would lower her and Lorelai to the floor. Siobhan would mentally sigh in relief, feeling the prickles of unease leaving her. the unwanted body contact was too much, even if her Pokémon had very much enjoyed herself. Lorelai was quite social for being Siobhan's Pokemon.

making her way to the back of the crowd, Siobhan would make sure to avoid anyone else close by. she didn't know the vast majority of people in Hoenn yet. only a small handful, which did not warrant her being here for long. she kept to herself, eyes watching the crowd. attempting to be unfriendly -

so she didn't have to socialize.

it was time to stop sitting on the sidelines. Siobhan would walk toward the tournament stage, ready to do battle. her black bikini was paired with a shimmering red wrap. sandals completed the look, but beside her was her Dragapult. he floated to and fro, swarming around her like a protective yet spooky ghost. she waited for any challenger to approach her.

compared to the others in the tournament, she had been in the background. an unknown. perhaps that would entice others to show up. challenge her. win or lose she was here to grow as a trainer. it did not matter if she failed. experience was gained both ways. crossing her arms in front of her chest, she is patience personified.
