she would give him that as they made their way to the docks. Siobhan needn't tell Xavier to 'be careful' - he seemed to know what he was doing regardless if she was there or not. she would not mother him. the boat was already docked, the captain waving them down. coming away with theories and not evidence, she was faintly disappointed.

but in the end, she could come back. if all else failed, she could study the Fossil Pokémon here. see if anything attributed to them still living in this modern age without science to back them. all the fossil Pokémon in Hoenn had been brought back through other means. it was a curious situation indeed. hopping up on the boat, she'd wait for them to sail back to mainland.

at least Rocket knew.

she had no formal loyalty to them; they'd get her best not her greatest. student loans having been paid, she worked off her debt to yet another organization. but she did not want Remiel to be hurt if he tried to sneak around with his own group. Rocket was aware, and therefore the funding and acceptance would prevent him from being blindsided by bigger fish.

Siobhan said nothing at first, giving a curt nod instead. she did not know anyone in Rocket nor SPECTRE outside of Remiel. while she doubted speaking out against ideas would get her 'terminated', she was more of a Pokémon sympathizer than most. would that injure her reputation or help it? would her ideas even be fostered by strangers? too many variables.

she could not give him a straight answer right away.

the Rookidee seemed to sense her inner conflict and drifted a bit closer. she learned they were sensitive and inquisitive when raising her own. but the other human made it pause, watching warily the Archen. Corviknight cawed once, warning the wild Pokémon to not come closer. Siobhan retrieved the Flapple's new Pokeball, pocketing it.

before Siobhan could reply or react, several things happened. mostly the reveal of the Glaceon protecting Ryuuzaki from the Clauncher. he would capture it before the fox could do more harm than good. she would watch, her eyes drifting along the area with some interest. though nothing did really... capture her attention. no Pokemon that she required, anyway.

"you have a medical background" she states with a tilt of her skull "what sort of training?" she was ever curious of another's training in any field. as Siobhan's eyes drifted back to the young man, she waits for his reply. there were various fields in the healing career. he said 'healer' as a broad term, but she knew better than just accepting that.

trainers? they were the only ones here. Siobhan resisted pointing this out, instead she ran a few paces away from the turmoil. Lich drifted after her. Aerodactyl were apex predators, and if it was felled and injured... wild Pokémon would be eager to dethrone it while it was down. she felt a bit bad for it, but they were not able to go save it and complete the job.

a few hours was all they had left. the woman glanced this way and that before admitting she needed a bigger team to search for artifacts properly. the lore on the island was proven - that fossil Pokémon still existed here. she would come back another time, with a larger group of people. Xavier was focused entirely on capturing species. she merely wanted to explore.

still, they had survived this long. two or so hours passed with them rummaging around the island to no prevail. "I suppose it is time to head back to the docks" Siobhan suggests, else they'd miss their pick-up.

there was a shriek from above, the ancient beast revealing itself. Xavier wasted no time in attacking. Siobhan would have liked to sneak away but if they did find something... it would be hell trekking back and watching the skies with the items or Pokémon. "Lich" she says, throwing the Dragapult's Pokeball "Dragon Dance."

the ghost-dragon screeched, zooming around Siobhan's body in a frenzied motion before she ordered another command. "Hydro Pump as well" she points at the Aerodactyl. the Dragapult complies, shooting a more powerful water attack due to the stat raising move. the cannon of water is concentrated and thinner compared to Blastoise's and hits the ancient beast on it's left wing.

the Aerodactyl yells in pain, flapping awkwardly before the Blastoise's Hydro Pump hits it as well. it crashes to the earth, the hits very direct. "we should keep moving" Siobhan suggests to Xavier "the noise will attract more wild Pokémon."

it was best to be prepared for this mission. Cian would come also with a bag, bending down next to her. "no" she says, having her attention too much elsewhere to really damage his reputation for lateness "and yes."

taking a Pokeball from her belt, she would call out her Sinistea. "Mori" she commands quietly "scout ahead" withdrawing into the shadows, the teacup Pokemon would vanish. "Dybbuk..." she calls out another ghost, this time a Spiritomb.

"Hypnosis."

floating toward the group of guards, it's eyes would glow and place them under the spell. the humans and Pokemon would drop, giving them a few minutes of opportunity. "let's go." Siobhan says, plucking her bag from the ground and taking off toward the store.

opportunity was a fickle thing. it allowed the Shaymin to attack, but also allowed Siobhan to watch. to see. the Air Slashes would assault Gravedigger one after the other. at the third scythe, she uttered a command. "freeze it" was all she gave the Pokémon. the concentrated air came at the Dusknoir, who would use Ice Punch -

and obtain a brilliant sickle of ice in return. before it shattered on the ground, he caught it and sent it back at the Shaymin with a mighty throw. if it connected, the damage would be great. ice was particularly nasty against flying and grass types. to which this Pokémon was both at the moment.

a dark skinned young man would appear, and Siobhan could only assume this was the specialist that Amor spoke about. she would step toward Xander, extending a hand in a business-like way. respectful. a specialist greeting another specialist in their field. "Siobhan Burke, folklorist." she would introduce herself, shaking his hand if allowed.

the woman would step back after introductions, placing both hands in front of her and waiting for instruction. she hadn't pulled out a Pokémon yet - she was saving that for later. there was no need to reveal everything at once. her team would rest until needed. that was fine with her. Siobhan glanced to Amor and back to Xander, waiting.

"Future Sight."

very well. Siobhan did not move or even flinch when Gravedigger made contact with the Shaymin. though most of his moves were indeed physical, this was about endurance. the Psychic blasted him back, giving the Shaymin ample time to escape and place distance between them again.

she'd play the waiting game, if that's what it meant. the Dusknoir calmed itself, closing it's eyes and predicting a psychic attack. it honed its inner ability of clairvoyance before it's eyes snapped open again. he waits for Siobhan's orders, or the assault of the Shaymin. whichever comes first.

she was waiting for the Shaymin to actually attack instead of flying around. "Payback" she quietly orders. the seeds hit some of the Dusknoir's larger body, but he ignores it. instead, Gravedigger is empowered by the assault. his body glows with darkness as he zips toward the Shaymin, aiming to tackle him with the result of the force.

Siobhan stood silently after that. her arms crossed again, her eyes hyper focused on the battle in front of her. this was her first real match since coming to Hoenn, and she would not go down easily. even if she was to lose, she would lose with grace and dignity. Shaymin was eager to keep a distance; she wouldn't allow that for long.

it would seem he would be less of a burden than she thought. "I worry not over the Pokémon" unless they were ruin guards "if we run into any, let me handle it first." before he rushed in with arms blazing, attracting more potential enemies in the process.

the last thing they needed to do was make the locals pissed off. "I am looking for signs of ancient civilizations, so yes; that is exciting to me" Siobhan adds, flicking a stray blue lock from her face. "keep a look-out; Rocket is quite interested as well."

if it wasn't Pokémon, it was history and science.

"hmm."

Siobhan closes her eyes, knowing a fight against the Gym Leader would be difficult. she is not surprised that the Ice Punch misses - barely - but it does miss. "Fire Punch," she orders again pointing at the air between the Shaymin and Dusknoir. the ghost-type looks momentarily confused before complying. flames surrounding its fist, it aims not at the foe but at the Tailwind's effect.

oxygen and fire were a bad mix. 

the combination caused a brief aerial cover of flame between them. spreading over the air caused by the Tailwind, it could be a distraction. Dusknoir waited until it was hidden from sight, the flames licking the wind. if Fernando wanted to draw this out, she could play his game. though what did he plan? she would have to wait to find out. if she was lucky, the Shaymin would be licked by the flames as well.

fire spread, and when air followed after something else, it could crawl to the source.
