The Teddiursa shouldn't have been such a tough opponent for the Charmander. When Belial demanded an EMBER from the little fire lizard, however, he instead got a puff of black smoke. The bear closed the distance in that time and assaulted with CLOSE COMBAT.[break][break]

"C'mon! Get up! I won't tolerate a loss here!" The mercenary captain roared. spurring the Charmander back into action with a RAGE. Despite the injuries it had sustained, eventually the tide turned to its favor. This gave Belial the perfect opportunity to cast a ball at the cub.[break][break]

Charmander needed plenty of field experience to become the terrifying flying war-machines they were meant to be. While the Jagged Pass seemed a more adequate location for such experience, however, Belial also needed to continue restocking his supply of new recruits. As such, he purchased a safari ticket and set out to kill two birds with one stone.[break][break]

Angus the Charmander, as innocent and golden-hearted as they came, struggled to keep up with his captain. Every so often he would fall behind so much that he would need to sprint to catch up with the man again. And, clearly, said man had no intention of stopping or walking any slower.[break][break]

Suddenly, the sky turned a dark shade of purple (NIGHT SHADE). Belial was quick to take cover and keep his eyes peeled to the sky above. His Gliscor camouflaged almost perfectly against that maroon backdrop. Perhaps, for that reason, the Hoothoot it chased down was unable to evade its strike, despite its attempted counter.[break][break]

The mercenary captain is quick to unlatch an empty heavy ball from his belt when he witnesses the small owl get struck by a critical NIGHT SLASH. It snaps a few branches on the way down before hitting the forest ground with a dull thump. Tossing the ball and capturing the unconscious is easy enough afterwards.[break][break]

A Teddiursa training for CLOSE COMBAT against a pine tree? It was an odd sight, sure, but a most welcome one for the mercenary captain. The target hadn't been of much interest to the Gliscor gliding up above, but that all changed when Belial signaled it with a whistle and pointed at it.[break][break]

The little bear would put up quite a fight, of course. But its CLOSE COMBAT was no match for Razerbait's NIGHT SLASH. Knocked unconscious, the Teddiursa was easy enough to aim for when Belial pulled out an empty heavy ball.[break][break]

A floating, shiny gold, sentient bell was, perhaps, the most distracting thing to a Meowth. Taro ran off in pursuit of it without a second thought, and Belial growled. "Get back here! That's an order, you little shit!"[break][break]

What followed was a chaotic chase through the Jagged Pass, wherein the Chingling employed all of its moves to try and escape before being forced to use its LAST RESORT. Cornered and slashed up by a previous FURY SWIPES, however, it could not escape the HYPNOSIS that came next from the cat's eyes.[break][break]

Belial would come to find it seconds later, being gently gnawed upon by Taro. "Little bastard," Belial scowls, pulling out an empty heavy ball and tossing it at the cat's plaything.[break][break]

After their little detour with the Unown-Q, Belial and Chai the Mienshao regroup. Their previous destination, the bar, appears packed from across the ballroom. Instead, the black-haired Stone snatches a glass of white wine from one of the passing waiters and strides towards the wide exits leading to the PLANETARY GARDENS.[break][break]

Reaching a beautiful fountain designed after the solar system, the man props a single boot atop its edge and takes a sip of his wine as he gazes up at the stars. His attempt at seeing constellations, however, are in vain. "That doesn't look like a Litleo to me at all... just a bunch of dots." He remarks in a slightly bitter murmur.[break][break]

Drowning out the clamor of conversation, music, glasses clinking, and footsteps dancing, she breathes... and one endeavor is laser-focused on her mind. She must DETECT where the Unown will appear next.[break][break]

While the last attempt ends in failure, the Mienshao is adept at forming new ones on the fly. Darting past and between the legs of dancing people, she manages to flank the Unown-Q once more before casting a WIDE GUARD. Should everything go according to plan, it would double back and run straight into her captain's arm while he waited.[break][break]

Scanning the immediate area, the mercenary captain abandons his path to the bar in favor of a gilded banner hanging from the wall. With little regard for ballroom security or any of the shocked guests staring at him, the man grabs it firmly with both hands and tears it off its hooks.[break][break]

The tapestry of planets and stars spirals downward onto the ground and he gathers it before spreading it wide. With his free hand, he points upward toward the flying Unown-Q and orders his Mienshao to it. "Flank the little cyclops and smack him right towards me. Hustle!"[break][break]

The juvenile Wynaut that had wandered aimlessly into this treacherous terrain seemed to have only made it that far thanks to a SAFEGUARD. While this protected it from burns or other environmental factors, however, this did nothing to satiate its growing hunger. It waddled up to the man and his Meowth in an effort to beg for food.[break][break]

With little remorse, however, Taro scratched the Wynaut's face and sent it running away with the last reserves of energy it had left. Belial snickered, shaking his head as they continued on.[break][break]

The trash appeared to be regurgitating all manner of junk in the middle of the forest. This was all in an effort to make itself lighter (AUTOTOMIZE), it seemed. If Belial hadn't seen much worse, he might have gagged.[break][break]

Needless to say, he walked past the heap of trash without another thought. His Gliscor continued to glide above, scanning the terrain from above for anything else of interest.[break][break]

An EERIE IMPULSE captured the attention of the bat-winged predator above. Gliscor had been down to snatch Mareep and toss them off the edges of cliffs in other parts of the world. This one should count itself lucky there were no cliffs nearby.[break][break]

Instead, Razerbait swooped down and assaulted it with a ferocious NIGHT SLASH, landing a critical hit that completely rendered the prey unconscious. Afterwards, catching it was as easy for Belial as calmly striding up and tapping a heavy ball against its forehead.[break][break]
