Chilling at the shores of Route 104’s beach access had run away from them. Andres had fallen asleep, Chuchi had wandered off to be a menace to the local fauna. Overall, it had been a long day for the both of them. By the time she licked his face to wake him up, the sun had already begun its motion to set. Andres had quickly grabbed their things and begun running back to the woods, having to cross through to get to the hotel in Petalburg City. “Chuchi!” he complained as she hopped beside him before jumping into his arms and then proceeding to set herself atop his head, despite her weight.

She didn’t seem to care at all about his discomfort. She could absolutely run beside him. Hell, she was sure she could outrun him when it came to their individual mile pace, but she chose to do this because she liked it. She may have been bigger and heavier than when they’d first met, but she enjoyed the habit. Even if Andres was missing a hoodie for her to disappear into. She chirped, content with her spot, her overwhelming floof haloing around Andres’ head and cutting off his peripheral vision. “I know, I know, you’re feeling fine. But I’d rather not travel in the woods at night if I can help it.” The normal type yipped at him, almost as if teasing him. “No! I am not scared.” He couldn’t see her face, but he knew that little shit of an Eevee would side eye him if she could. He slowed his pace, careful not to trip. The last thing he needed was a sprained ankle on top of being in the dark woods.

With he cover of the canopy above, the woods were a bit darker than the route still bathed in the last rays of sunlight. “Let’s move quickly.” He urged, trudging past despite the sense of unease that seemed to prickle the hair on his arms. Maybe that was just the temperature dropping as night came. “Stay aLERT-” he yelped catching movement in the bushes. A wild pokemon already? Chuchi tensed on his shoulders like a tight spring, ready to pounce on whatever bug or ground type that showed up.

“The inter dream zone they said.” Andres replied, though he was entirely unaware of how he knew that. Probably heard it at some point but didn’t quite process it until now. “Weird. It’s…gotta do with all that mist, right?” he added. There’s been the sound of glass shattering and then just clouds and clouds of mist. And then? He didn’t quite remember. He’d woken up and started making a feast of pancakes. He shivered as the voices began, rubbing his arms and turning back to Melody. “C’mon, you said you’re looking for Cobalion?” he said. Though his friend wasn’t listening. Quickly, she began to look more and more distressed before finally. [break][break]

Andres flinched back, looking around wildly for whatever she was seeing. “Melody?!" he cried out as she moved away desperate to stop whatever it was that was happening to her. He dind’t know. The black figures passed by him like shadows they were going for Melody. Could she even see him still? “Hey, wait, it’s not real! Melody!!” he shouted pushing past the shadows and trying to stay near the pinkette. “Can you hear me? Melody? What- What are you talking about?!” he asked. She said something about remembering. That was off-putting, especially when she had made some weird comment about forgetting earlier in the kitchen. And something about a condition? He didn’t know. He hesitated unsure of what to do but ultimately decided maybe he should help her run. [break][break]

He offered her a hand and took her arm to help her to her feet if she let him. “Breath Melody! This is a weird nightmare thing now!” he said trying to be the intelligent, calming presence that he totally wasn’t.

“Mr. Greyson Connors!!!” the young girl shouted, echoing the other trainer. “With…A Buneary!” she can’t help but squeal in delight at the sight of the little normal type. Chuchi is intrigued but shakes herself out and waits at the ready. Andres isn’t sure if she can move right with all that weight on her, but she didn’t seem deterred. “Well, hopefully you can learn something. Usually, I’m coaching from the sidelines.” He said. With that, Chuchi takes off in a sprint towards her challenger starting off strong, and beginning her hunt. It kind of puts off what he’d wanted at first off, the table. But he can still roll with this. “Move in with Double Edge! Try not to eat in this time!” He called out. Chuchi let out a growl to denote she hadn’t appreciated his commentary. [break][break]

Before Andres could complain or panic anymore, he felt a sharp pain in his foot and clamped a hand over his mouth to keep himself from screaming. The stiffled scream made his cheeks poof out like pikachu cheek pouches. “What the fuck?!”the blonde hissed as she got to work examining the lump under the sheet. “Was that really necessary, guera?!” he added quietly balancing on one foot to reach and squeeze his pained foot.

At least she had a plan. He tilted his head as she considered it before nodding at her. “N-No…that sounds pretty good an option. The pokemon around the docks can take care of it…problem solved.” He should be horrified he was even saying that, but better this than to get caught with a dead body. “We’ll just sya we’re moving around props or something.” He added quietly as he began the work of making sure they could even grab the fucking body without getting leaked on. Unless directed, he would continue to move the body in an attempt to carry it to its final resting place.

Andres was floored for a moment as Ollie revealed how he’d gotten in before letting out a laugh at the redhead. “That’s some pretty good hand eye coordination for a drunk.” He said as he grabbed a load of bread and began making toast. Maybe it’d be good to get him some dry waffles as well. Just to help soak up all the alcohol. “MMm…I dunno how you plan on contacting your Dragonite bud.” He said watching the poor ranger try to balance o his stool. Chuchi eyes him suspiciously but more so stood around in case she needed to smack him back into his chair to avoid him cracking his head on the floor. [break][break]

She jumped back as Ollie bolted upright while Andres turned just in time to see the guy pause upright before ebeginning to wobble. “Shit!” he blurted out as Chuchi and him both moved in. She managed to jump up and shove him towards Andres’ open arms would hooked them under the guys armpits before gently setting him on the ground and letting out a small sigh. His coffee whatta? What was he talking about? Chuchi ran past the pair of trainers to rip off some paper towels for Andres as the blonde made sure Olli was upright. Was he- was he crying too? “Goddamn…you really are drunk, bud.” He said as he retrieve one Chuchi’s paper towels and made sure to wipe the guy’s mount before folding it over and dabbing Ollie’s eyes. “C’mon now, it’s fine. I can deal with it when its not…3:29 am. Full moon's out its still dark...” He said trying to comfort the drunk.[break][break]

Chuchi yipped at him before nodding over at the bedroom and Andres nodded in agreement. “Hey man, just sleep this off in my bed, take the trashcan with you. We can talk about it in the morning.” He said, already gaging Ollie’s weight. From the fall he hadn’t been super heavy. After adjusting himself, Andres shoved one arm under Ollie’s knees, and the other to rest his back on before grunting and standing up with the drunk. “Just try not to pee yourself, guero.” He said as he wobbled around his furniture before depositing the ranger on top of his sheets. He then set newly cleaned trashcan next to the bed. “I’m Andres by the way. And the guard dog’s name is Chuchi. See you in the morning.” He said as he turned off a digital clock that would ring an alarm out in less than three hours’ time.

He nodded at her. “That works. We can try this kind of schedule.” He said beginning to highlight some days for her. “Just depends on what you need. I typically don’t do back to back days since I prefer my clients to rest in between. Especially if we’re working the same muscles…” he said rattling off more personal trainer stuff. He gave her a thumbs up. Her education sounded like fun. He’d always heard that art kids had the most fun time…or the least amount of sleep. One or the other. [break][break]

“Ah, well, I kind of just showed up a lot and they offered me the job after a few people thought I worked here.” Truly, a testament to the amount of time he spent at this gym. “But, I have a bachelors in kinesiology so I’m technically qualified.” Technically. He hadn’t exactly known what he’d wanted to do in college other than find something more difficult than Gym Challenges but that hadn’t panned out too much. Coordinating was an option, but he was still fine tuning some things. “In any case, what about you? What kind of superstar are you with that music degree?” he asked.

The fog of the dream is slowly being pulled from his mind, like clearing out cobweb. Its tedious, but gradually there began to appear a bit of clarity in his eyes. With Melody’s persistence, he’d distracted from the fantasy they’d both been sucked into. Her hands ground him further, and his eyebrows knit together as he began to focus and come out of his dream haze. “Right. Right.” Had he seen it? He didn’t think so. He’d woken up and made pancakes. He hadn’t even looked outside their idyllic home. [break][break]

Practically tethered to the pinkette, he followed her looking over her head to see what she saw. The picture perfect, white picket fence neighborhood was distorted. Clouds of purple swirled overhead and he could see some unown moving through at high speeds. “What…the Unfezant fuck…?” he asked his head stinging on the side as he tried to reconcile what he was seeing with his dream. Flashes of the perfect neighborhood attempt to overlay with the danger before them, but its too late. He’s awake now. “Do you see Cobalion, Melody?” the previous familiarity of husband and wife is gone, and what’s left is just Andres. Serious, but alert. He nodded to her, ready to take her lead and stepped down their little home’s porch. Nothing happened. Yet.

The class was loud, cheering on their respective favorites as the pair of kids battled, with the blonde overseeing them. The scrimmages were his favorite part of class instruction. Textbook lecture was well and good, but he preferred drills to lectures. He thought the kids did too, considering how eager and competitive they got. A little competition went a long way for a class. Built camaraderie, and friendships. And despite the prestige his school carried in their title, he had no intention of pushing his students to the brink if he could help it. They were all young kids after all, and more of his experience came form trial and error.

The match he’d been watching came to a close and he called in the group to give some tips and notes before calling the session. “That should be it for our class block. File in to get yourselves water and use the bathroom before you go to your next class. Walk around the leaf piles.” He called out to a bit of grumbling and bemoaning as the crowd of kids headed back inside. While the last students filed into the school, Andres looked around the field checking for damages to write down, maybe help fix if he could, Chulito could probably help bury back some of these new holes… He perked up, as someone else approached him.

“Oh, uh, hello!” he greeted, waving at the trainer. “How’re you doing? Looking to sign up?” he asked. That was common enough question, considering this part of the school was in public view which he both liked and disliked. “I’m Andres, I’m one of the instructors here.” He said offering a hand for a handshake.
