Callie doesn't understand why he keeps bringing her to these places, why the League needs more intel on these rifts when there are already so many groups going into it. But it isn't her place to question it, so she doesn't.

[break][break] She grimaces as they step into it, the change so violent that it makes her skin tingle even long after she's stepped out of it. When she blinks, she finds that the place they're around is one that she recognizes. It's then that she is reminded of the excursion that she went on with other people too — flashes of ginger hair and a warm smile, and her cheek flushes when she thinks of sunny clark.

[break][break] "Our" suits?" she scoffs, brushing the dirt from her elbows. "Don't you mean yours?"

[break][break] Callie doesn't have a suit, but she doesn't need one. She survived last time without it, after all.

she blamed work. with things ramping up in hoenn, there was more work to do more than ever, especially now that paxton concordas had abandoned her to work for the council. callie was lost without him to lead her at the precinct, which made her feel even lonelier knowing that she was practically alone. MATIAS SILPH was busy these days... doing whatever the fuck that elite four did. same with Eva Morales . and then paxton concordas seemed to have his hands full with dahlia goode and PENELOPE LIVY .

[break][break] it made callie wonder if she should've followed him out too — maybe her skills would've been better utilized protecting the council than it was guarding lilycove's finest.

[break][break] but halloween was one of her favorite holidays — and she was glad for the reprieve when it prsented itself. callie found herself at one of slateport lower district's midnight parties before the holiday itself, reminded of the days in goldenrod that she'd spent it with @sole and Alexandra Briarwood .

[break][break] looking at all the slutty costumes everyone wore, callie used this one time of the night to laugh at them with irony. by the end of the night, she was too drunk on margaritas to really care, but she enjoyed playing 'who's the biggest slut' with blue murtagh , who she had somehow dragged to this event. callie wore a tight-fitting shiny midnight lycanroc attire — a crop-top that exposed her midriff a fluffy tail and ears exposed. it was the one of the time of year she could look stupid enough to not give a shit, and the one time of the year that she really put effort into her make-up too.

"right!" she agrees, with a sharp nod. they have to find an exit, before those — whatever those things were caught up to them.

[break][break] her eyes glance sharply towards something silver just in paxton concordas's way.

[break][break] "cap, watch out!"

[break][break] it looked just like those guards that were chasing them, but different, somehow. she let him deal with it, though. she had a plan.

[break][break] callie broke through the door right after paxton, barricading the door with a long soup spoon. then she turned, realizing they were back into the servant's quarters. her eyes widened at the sight of what appeared there. an entryway to tunnels. it wasn't like callie was afraid of the dark but.

[break][break] "guess way we have no choice," she muttered under her breath. as they walked through the tunnel, and her eyes gleamed towards the carbink working away at the machine. forever a bleeding heart to those indebted, callie whistles for skoll to break them out with a well-placed STONE EDGE. when they are freed, they twirl and chime in thanks, before floating away.

[break][break] with the guards behind them, they had to find their way out. but before they found their way out...
