Where mint frost was worried his sweaty, sweaty, balls would stink. (Pokeballs). Calem smelled good. It was not Lovespell by Victoria's Secret, either. It was the kind of fancy cologne you know someone spent way too much money on for a tiny bottle. Spicy and woody with a few softer, sweeter hints underneath.

When Mint took Calem's hand, he gave a soft squeeze. It was much like how a prince might take the hand of a princess after, delicate in his hold.

"Too hot?" He didn't miss a beat, the worry on his face softening into something more playful at Mint's words. "Hmm. I agree. I'd be happy to buy one for you... ah, I'm sorry." A soft chuckle and Calem straightened back up; still close but not encroaching on the other's person space like before. "How rude of me to not get your name. I'm Calem."

A soft chuckle, a soft amusement lighting up Calem's face.

"It's a little warm, but I'll be fine." His voice was warm and deep, a soft Johto-an accent slipping into his words. When mint frost took his phone back, Calem fidgeted with his gloves lightly. A small tilt of the head and he offered his hand to the other, leaning in a little closer, maybe closer than conventional, obviously taking the other in.

"Are you feeling well? You seem to have a fever."

Round #1: Calem x Pace

Hair is tucked behind his ear, demure, and Calem glances down as if shy. A small grin is on his face.

"You're my first date of the night, actually." He glanced back up at Pace Mahmoud from under his lashes. This man was a whore. "It'll be hard for the rest to hold a candle to you."

Before anymore could be said, the bell dinged signaling it was over. Calem rose to is feet and nodded to the other, gave a wink, and then turned to go and flirt with the next person.

Pace Mahmoud and Calem were here for more similar reasons than the other might think. Calem just liked the thrill of a good chase.

Calem matched the laugh, cheeks warm.

He thrummed his fingers, quick, on the table.

"You're very handsome, too. In fact-" A pen was plucked from his pocket before delicate script was written on a napkin. Aka, his phone number.

"I know we won't have much time." A cheeky wink as it was slid towards the other.

"Calem." Is offered back, smile sweet. He squeezes the offered hand in a firm handshake, gloves crinkling against his palm.

Since this was a speed date there wasn't much time. May as well cut right to the chase.

"I'm hoping to find myself a partner." Calem lowered his hand and the faintest of flushes was on his cheeks but he didn't seem embarrassed. "What about you?" He was quick to turn the question back around on Pace Mahmoud.

Calem was sitting at his table and waiting on Pace Mahmoud .

His first match!

A red rose, perfectly cut, laid on the table between the two of them as he waited. A few candies still wrapped.

It was time for a speed date.

The ocean waves churned against the shore.

In those photos? Calem, staring out at the water, a soft look on his face, lips curled up in a gentle smile. Wind rustles through red hair, pulled back into a ponytail, perfectly tousled. A black button up and a white vest, black pants. Oddly enough, black gloves that were high enough to vanish under the long sleeves.

A glance over and he met blue eyes. The serene smile crept a little higher.

mint frost played it very not cool, but that was okay, as Calem got up and dusted himself off so he could come closer.

The cell phone was picked up and cleaned before Calem offered it to the other.

"I think you dropped this." A small wink and coy grin, teasing softly.

"Only if they're pretty."

Sadly for Lulu Flint, knocking Calem off his chair might not be as much of a deterrent as she might hope for.

If anything, it would just encourage him.

"I'm not asking you to sleep with me." Not that he was opposed to the idea.

"But I wouldn't say 'no' to a date."

The movements are also missed by Calem, mostly because he's driving, but also because he's more focused on Kano Iyona at the moment.

Since she gives him confirmation on their proximity, he doesn't answer that part. Instead, taking a step back in the conversation to a bit that had caught his interest.

"If you don't mind me asking, why would it be a bad joke? You're a beautiful woman, Dr. Iyona, and you seem to have some wit about you. I'm sure you could very easily find someone to have a child with."

Calem watches the display with the Bruxish with some interest. He had no idea what in the hell that green, high-booted pokemon was or how a fish got out of water on a volcano. Hoenn was fucked.

"Calem." He takes the accepted hand. Calem holds it exactly one second longer than is usually socially acceptable, because I think it's funny.

"Matias... you wouldn't happen to the be the Elite Four member, would you?" I'm pretty sure that's public knowledge. Just ignore this if it isn't.

PASSING

Even as Kano Iyona bad talks him, Calem only sighs dreamily and gives her a lovestruck look.

"Isn't she wonderful?" He speaks to the officer, who looks very concerned, but in the end the act works and he waves them though. When they're far enough away, Calem takes his hand back and puts it back on the wheel.

"I can't believe the bossy wife act, worked. I was going to pretend you were pregnant if it didn't." The thunder rumbles, followed by the torrent of rain. It makes viability lower and Calem has to slow down, which makes him hum.

"How close are we?" She knew the route better than he did at this point.

"I have quite the silver tongue." Calem answers back. He gives Kano Iyona a wink, then pulls up to wait behind the latest person in line.

Calem takes one hand off the wheel, reaching over to quickly try and lock hands with Kano, tangle his fingers with her.

A flashlight is shone through the window.

"What are you two doing out this late?" The officer barks, gruff. He looks tired and grumpy. Not off to a good start. But, Calem just smiles and looks apologetic.

"I'm afraid my wife and I are lost, sir. Actually, could you help us out? We're moving, you see, and I think I took a wrong turn trying to get to the residential district...."
