The frown grows just a bit larger at the smug appearance of the Shinx, “I think she did that on purpose. She’s a petty little thing,” Toni admits, casting a look back towards CJ and their Jolteon. The electric fox seemed more than capable as it showed the Shinx up by nabbing a Vullaby.

Toni pours some more of the water back into the bowl for the Shinx to trot over and lap up happily, “Would, um, your Jolteon like some?” Toni offers the half full bowl to the fellow electric type once Willow has had her fill.

“How long have you been with your Jolteon? She seems quite strong,” an obvious observation, a much more experienced pokmeon than the spoiled house kitten, “I’m Toni, by the way,” she wears a pleasant smile, it doesn’t seem forced, natural rom years of practice. She extends a hand to greet CJ, manicured fingers waiting delicately for the other to take it.

The woman’s posture straightens a bit as the sound of someone approaching creaks through the trees. Eventually, the dense woods gives way to a rather large, impressive man. Typically, Toni is rather adverse to working with others but maybe she could make an exception . . . If only she wasn’t already annoyed, “It’s about time,” she simply says, shifting her gaze to the other sound of someone approaching. This time, it’s a rather unimpressive looking man. Figures. This better not be a babysitting job on top of specimen collection.

Toni is straight to business, not even an introduction, “We have to actually find the hive first,” she corrects @tobias , turning slightly to start down the path, “There have only been reports of attacks and sightings. The hive itself seems to be elusive,” they aren’t the only ones looking for these pokemon.

A pokeball cracks open to release a Houndoom onto the trail. “Alpha may be able to track some down with ODOR SLEUTH.”

All Toni can do is smile, keeping the grin curled over her lips as Caden pouts. It’s too cute.

“You know how I like to tease,” tease her prey before she goes in for the kill. The buildup makes it that much more fun and exhilarating. Theirs has been threatening to boil over for years. Even now she can feel her heart rate rise as his thumb rubs softly against the back her of hand. It feels too intimate, but she allows herself to enjoy the sensation that ripples across her.

“I’m trying something new. If I don’t like it, I can always leave. It’s not like I’m bound to this place,” although she really couldn’t leave since Hoenn was boxed in by an invisible barrier.

Toni turns her body to face him, propping her own elbow beside his outside of the hot tub, the water barely covering her chest, “Haven’t you always wanted to try something new?”

Toni bathed in her element like the true socialite she was bred to be. As expected, the Spina sparkled in diamonds across her neck, arms, and fingers. Brilliant red rubies to match her gown were the focus of each piece of jewelry.

Each smile was pleasant but didn’t give too much away. Each movement was graceful, never letting a rogue camera man surprise her with a bad angle. Her laugh was bright and cheerful as she charmed her way through some of Slateport’s wealthiest. Most importantly, she was never without a flute of fine champaign. The service was excellent, and just as she finished the last sip of her current vice, she expected the handsome waiter that had been catering to her to be there with another. When he failed, she found herself annoyed for the first time this evening.

It was perfect timing, though. Toni used it to excuse herself from the horrendously boring conversation she was having with an older gentleman and his “significant other” (escort). It was perhaps the first time that evening she had a moment to herself. Is that what she wanted, though? No, Toni’s ravenous appetite for company had her dark eyes moving across the space in front of her as she made her way to the drink table. There’s always a void to fill.

A rather beautiful woman in black was the only other party goer near the drink table when she arrived. Toni’s scarlet painted lips turned up into one of those pleasant smiles, “Saving the good stuff for just yourself?” her gaze briefly trailed down to the cleavage that hid the stronger stuff before rising again to meet Sienna’s gaze, “That’s not very nice,” she teased as she pushed the empty champagne flute towards the bartender.

Caden seems just as surprised as she was with the realization. When he turns to look at her, she turns as well to meet his gaze. The way the light reflects off depths of his eyes is alluring. Has he always been this captivating?

Although she releases the pressure of her squeeze, her touch lingers there on his arm. Perhaps a bit longer than it should. Her fingers lightly trail down his skin as her hand falls away. Typically, she takes what she wants but this is Caden, not some horny guy at the bar she’d happily take advantage of.

Toni smothers any urges beneath a sly grin, “Don’t get too excited, Caden,” she jokes, “I never said for how long,” though she did intend for it to be quite some time. As long as she had good business here, forever perhaps. She won’t admit it, though.

When he finishes, Toni turns forther to inspect the back of the dress. She scoops a corner up in one hand to pull it out and get a better view. Doesn’t look half bad.

After a nod of approval, she turns her attention back to . . . Lance. Sounds familiar.

“Toni,” she smiles, extending her hand to properly greet him, “I think I owe you lunch or at least a drink for saving my dress . . and me the embarrassment of having to wear it around looking like that.”

How embarrassing. At least there was no one of consequence around to see a stranger kneeling behind her and rubbing her dress with leaves. It all felt so ridiculous, which it was. This was a ridiculous situation.

“Yes, go ahead,” she grants the permission for him to do the same. Toni has never been a shameful person. It’s the intimacy of a stranger working so close to her ass that makes her shift, it’s the discomfort of the fact that she actually found herself impressed by him.

“Does it seem to be working,” she cranes her head to the side to look back at him as he works.

Ton’s gaze moves from the incapacitated Mudkip over to the blonde again. For all her practice, it’s hard to hide the judgment in her gaze when quickly traces CJ up and down. It’s by no means negative, just curious. They are aesthetically pleasing and seem to be in good spirits. She wasn’t expecting to meet someone on their hike, but she could make an exception.

“It’s fine. I have plenty more . . . I think,” she gives the bottle a little shake to confirm there is some left. Perhaps not enough for a long hike but as long as it didn’t get much hotter thay’d be fine.

Toni picks up the pokeball now containing the Mudkip, “Oh, since she was born, actually. Perhaps a year now,” the kitten was born just before she moves to Hoenn. It was her mother’s parting gift to her, “She’s not much use other than just to look at, though. I’m surprised she went after that Mudkip, very unlike her.”

To surprise her even more, the little Shinx sent out a stray bolt of DISCHARGE, purposefully striking a Crobat flying by. The pokemon crashed towards the ground, an empty pokeball leaving Toni’s fingertips before it had a chance to impact and hurt itself further.

The woman frowned, raising a brow at the kit. The pokemon looked rather smug, as if she was doing it on purpose to make Toni look like an idiot in front of the stranger.

Toni found the unsolicited pressure of someone beside, also admiring the art. Her fingers twisted the stem of the champagne fluke gently, spinning the glass in her hand. Her eyes fized on the minimum bid, it was pricey, but not completely ridiculous, “I’ve never heard of this artist, do you if they’re from Hoenn?” she ask Keenan Toral, not sparing the young man so much as a glance.

The new arrival is the one that speaks first. She heard the elegant clicking of heels stop beside them. This time, Toni shifts to cast a glance towards the woman. Dark eyes trails down along the black dress to settle on her chest, in particular the media pass hanging there.

“I agree,” the edges of her dark red lips pull into a soft smile, “Certainly reflects the times,” everyone in Hoenn likely looked out at the see like this, longing to be free of the barrier that trapped them. Toni wonders for a moment if that was the artist’s original intentions. Or was this simply a coincidence?

Toni wore her elegant smile with ease. Years of practice being dragged from philanthropic event to sponsorship dinners. She was bred and groomed to be a high society philanthropist, though that’s not where her ambitions lie. Still, the practice made it easy for times such as this.

The leather box in her hand was gently taken by security to be shuffled off to the silent auction, “It’s polished and shinning as brightly as Hoenn’s future,” she ensured the organizer, even if she didn’t believe it herself.

She watches the donation disappear behind the curtain before she said her goodbyes, grabbed a flute of champagne, and began browsing the expensive wears behind glass cases, each had its own number. She found herself drawn to a rather interesting piece of art: oil on canvas, an elegant depiction of a beautiful Milotic, shinning beneath a full moon as it rest between the rocks on the Hoenn shore.

Toni twists her head to glance at the back of her dress after he motions to the rest of the stains. It looks like she shit her pants. How attractive. The sudden embarrassment of photos with the headline reading “Sinnoh Heiress Shits Her Pants” boils her blood and suddenly it’s something that needs to be dealt with immediately.

”Yes, better to deal with it now before it sets in, I suppose.”

As Amor Rose had laid out, she was to meet two others in pursuit of the strange Vespiqueen he was seeking. Toni typically didn’t play nice with others, but there was promie of additional pay . . . and hopefully with two others that meant she had to do a third of the work. The math was sound and hopefully they didn’t slow her down.

Fortree City is surrounded by dense woods filled to the brim with wildlife. It’s no surprise that the last known sighting of the Vespiqueen was just outside of town. Those daring enough to venture into the dark parts of the forest found themselves swarmed by Combee. Unusually angry Combee.

Follow the Combee, find the hive. Find the hive, find the queen.

The most reported attacks came from further down the trailhead she now stood at, impatiently awaiting the arrival of the other two hunters. The visor of her helmet is pushed up, piercing dark eyes peering through the trees for any sign of her ‘partners’.
