Even sticking to the facts wasn't enough to appease Luci's fury, his hurt...his agony. Paxton feels like shit under his gaze, failing to live up to his confessions. Even if it meant nothing to him. If DEREK HOFFMAN had tried to kiss him first and he had just as angrily tossed him aside as he had spat venom at Remiel Calcifet . luciano fisk doesn't care about that. He swallowed as Luciano gathered himself. [break][break]

"No. I guess we're not." he echoed. Because what else could he do right now. The party's music fades into something hard to hear. Luci's gaze is intense and while he doesn't shy away from it, his own posturing is less defiant. He does move, only slightly, to flinch when Luci turns away from him. A plea dies in his throat as he watched the sculptor move nearby rather than storming out. [break][break]

He felt his heart seize, catching sight of the mistletoe before Luci is finished talking. Does he even know Kazimir Wynter ? Does it matter? Paxton steels his expression. Not because he is angry, though there is a part of him that is, but because he has no right to be upset. Paxton doesn't say a word. He doesn't snap or glare at Kazimir. He doesn't even storm off. Luci is different to him. He's lucky the man would even look at him, much less talk to him. [break][break]

If this kept Luci around- if it made him feel vindicated- enough to stay- then he'd accept it without complaint. What was this if not just a consequence of his spur of the moment actions. [break][break]

Annalise and her Togekiss take off and he takes what reassurance he can get before setting to work. Bait Kyogre away, and send it back into open sea. The bait takes and Paxton lets out more pokemon to help supplement their forces while Annalise tries to maneuver. [break][break]

His Porygon and Octillery make an appearance as Joules sets up a ELECTRIC TERRAIN. Streenstrup locks in to blast BULLET SEEDS at the retreating figure while Hopper blasts a TRI-ATTACK hoping to help paralyze the legendary. Waves crash around them splashing the group and threatening to push them into churning waters. [break][break]

As they maintain the assault, Annalise disappears behind the rocks and…doesn't come back out. “Henderson? Report in. I lost your visual.” He said quickly into his comms, hoping he didn't have to race to grab her. She couldn't be downed already?

Before he can take a calming sip of his coffee, Gunner explodes on him. The shout echoed throughout sacred grounds and sent flying nearby birds pokemon. Paxton only flinches, dropping his cup on the ground and freezing as he stared at his partner. [break][break]

Paxton doesn't snap back, doesn't move at all. He stared, watching Gunner's face twist and the man stopped. All composure lost. The gears turn. The microwave dongs. The lightbulb flickers on.

His voice is small, not from fear but from the building realization he was having. He works it through out loud. “You said you were assigned to oversee her progress.” Paxton straightens up, pulled out of his panic as he focused on the one who'd even told him all this. “You were leading me-” a blink of betrayal before he stands, eyes narrowing into a glare. "You're fucking your parolee?!” Indignation. Because Paxton was ignorant. But Gunner was fully aware. He knew her better than he did. He was her fucking parole officer.

He nodded along as he clipped in and began the descent. It's deeper than he expected and Hopper TELEPORTs ahead to gauge the distance. “Has Professor Eva Morales or Professor illeana reyes ascertained the link between the crystals and the dream mist?” He asked though he imagined Fernando wouldn't ve spelunking if it were obvious.

Hopper chirps from the depths, as Paxton eyes the glinting of crystal clusters that grow in number as they go lower. Finally, his feet brush the floor, and Paxton releases the tension from his rope. He gives a glance to make sure he's steady before beginning to unclip. As the earth opened up, he cast his head light on them. “We've had several earthquakes since AQUA 4 and it seemed like the crystals just suddenly manifested. However, on my investigation with MATIAS SILPH , it looked like natural formations.” He pointed at the walls where a huge slab of flat tera crystal pushed through what he thought may be basalt. “That looks like a tera inclusion. See how it cuts through different horizontal layers on the way up?”

mila alexopoulos 's transfer was before his time it seemed. He hadn't heard or seen any of that in his work. He felt little relief when Gunner confessed it was an old case. He runs his way through a mental dossier of every defector to date since he'd taken his position still. Was he slipping? No way. [break][break]

He'd been meticulous with his AMIGO, blocking even the likes of Gunner. He'd purposefully sought out his coworkers and staff to block that avenue of communication to him. [break][break]

After the strange terastal earthquakes had somewhat settled, and the league was cleared for reentry, talks of the tunnels t hat had cracked open the elite 4 chambers had come up. Paxton had been eager to get in on the studies. Geology, after all, was something he was actually familiar with. He could follow along with the scientists on this subject and had volunteered to get out of his desk for a chance to pull specimens and study the caverns underneath. [break][break]

He just hadn't expected it was with FERNANDO SILPH . His office clothes had been abandoned for a more comfortable fit as he gave a nod to the taller man. "Morning sir." he said as he tightened the ponytail holding back most of his hair. His Porygon floated by his head, chirping at their trainer and then their partner for the ride. "Didn't think you'd be eager to get back into the caverns you were attacked in." he said as he lead the way towards what had been deemed the safest point of entry for them to begin the rope climb down.

The earth opened up, small tera crystal specimens poking out of the earth and rock. Some merged together with the rock itself. It looks weird. He wonders what could've caused such rapid growths or if it was there all along. He tries not to simmer around Matias, trying to better understand .He wanted to hold out hope. That one of the League's strongest and tenured members wasn't completely gone. [break][break]

"You involved yourself without notice with one of Rocket's Most Wanted, and confirmed to have been one of the factor's in the loss of Sootopolis." he stated, eyes ahead. All of it horrific. But the entanglement with Elisabeth Fiorelli was more of a sticking point to him. Even if you could rationalize the take over of a crippled city, the propaganda revealed from its fall well documented, honey potting a terrorist? [break][break]

And not even doing it well. But Matias didn't look like his strong suits were subterfuge if his track record had anything to say about it. [break][break]

The clearing doesn't reveal much. Some untouched pots that were miraculously intact. Strange paintings on the wall of the sun and the ocean. He pulls out his work phone to begin taking photos. "Why put yourself in that position?" he asked, holding his demeanor together looking back at the E4. They called him the Volatile, and he was certianly doing his best to fit the title. But Paxton wanted a reasoning. He wanted to dissect his actions and make sense of them.

Paxton's spat with Remiel Calcifet runs short as he hears his name uttered from a familiar voice. The upright, tense posture frozen before deflating as he turned towards luciano fisk . The scowl on his face morphing as he saw Luciano before him shocked and then afraid because by Luci's posture it is unmistakable to know what the man had seen. [break][break]

Gods, this party really was the pits. [break][break]

His fists unclench, and he for the first time ever, most would watch Paxton revert to something more fearful, more panicked than he ever really let on. Derek tries to cover for him, though maybe it was merely trying to defend himself from Luci's glare. "Yes-" he said before flinching, feet forced forward towards the Fisk as DEREK HOFFMAN clapped a hand on his ass in defeat. [break][break]

Paxton stares up at Luci incredulously, mind blank before attempting to calm down. Don't say anything cliched. "Luci, I was-" he began before realizing his explanation of getting into a pissing match with one man, and having a colleague try to pull him out of it via mistletoe kiss sounded fucking absurd. Paxton doesn't have much experience with the RKS, too busy to really pay it attention. Though, he'd heard it may contain leads to the legendaries the League was still unaware about so he signed up to hop in. With anybody really, eager to simply move through with whatever group was going through. He's paired up with Remiel Calcifet of all people, and grimaced. [break][break]

He lets out a breath, dressed more for office work than the field. So its not liek the prince had anythign to worry about. Mostly.
