Paxton is happy. Perhaps its because Luciano is familair to him, or perhaps he still found the man attrractive but jsut talking with him again improved his mood. Paxton is damn near as pristine as his first day in the office. Hair tied back, wit ha little gel to hold it down, uniform pressed to perfection, shoes spotless. The works. He's on his way to a meeting about one of his reports. It's...troublesome. But to be expected if he was raising concerns. [break][break]

He's not really visited the Pokemon League too much. Even his missions with dahlia goode or GABRIEL BLACK , he met them at different locations before he began his assignment. So he may have been a little...distracted as he moved around Ever Grande City, taking it in. [break][break]

He doesn't notice what was probably a poor intern until its too late. The slightest of bump into her and he's already turning away, giving her space. Not out of courtesy but because he saw something grow unstable in his periphery and wanted to avoid it. Turns out he was right in doing so. Unfortunately, he got to watch a poor girl lose like 8 orders of coffee and they tipped over and went flying onto the sidewalk. "Ah....shit." he murmured. It would be a hella dick move to leave. So he doesn't, staying put to offer her help if she wanted it. "I- Uh- I'm sorry."

Paxton is hot on her heels trying to reach her, grab her. Anything to stop her and ask what the hell was going on. He can't exactly help if he doesn't know what's going on. As she turned around a corner Joules kept eyes from above. They see the glint in the darkness, her posture as she tensed up and froze. It's automatic. Before they even figure out he's there a LIGHT SCREEN goes goes up. A pale transparent wall dropping from her head to the ground to protect her. [break][break]

Right as Paxton skidded into view. The event triggers the gunman, who in his surprise can only look up before back down. Blue uniform, sweating. The police. Paxton doesn't even get to say STOP! and Joules isn't fast enough to cover him, focused on protecting Blythe with more walls to cut her off from their attackers. [break][break]

A shot rings out as Paxton made a break for Blythe, about to use her position as cover. He dodged the worst of it, but he's shot. That much is evident by the tear in sleeve and the small spray of blood as the bullet carved out a chunk of his bicep. "Joules! Stop them!" he ordered as one of them prepares to leave while the other is glaring at the missed shot. His own eyes, wild with pain and fury turn to Blythe. "Move!" he ordered as Joules zoomed to try and cut off the alleyway. As he does another pokemon is released. A Salazzle that immediately blasted out a wave of fire at the steel type. Paxton is busy fumbling his own arm, clamping a hand over it to add pressure to the wound.

He waited patiently for the secretary to give him the ok to enter. Paxton had been waiting patiently in the lobby, hair tied back into a short ponytail, police uniform pressed and ironed. His cap was tucked carefully away under his arm along with a thing folder, and his shoes polished twice before driving over to the office. A report of the rangers only meeting which he had filed after concerns of unprofessionalism and lack of discipline between ranger ranks had- well it'd landed somewhere. He'd been mildly surprised it hadn't been Elinor Anderson herself. But then again, she didn't seem like a person who gave speeches or spoke often either. Taciturn to a fault damn near. He could relate. [break][break]

The council member today was someone else. With a last name he didn't recognize nor remember seeing. But he had the meeting scheduled, and did his best to be on time. Once given the go, he stood from his chair, checking himself for any stray pieces of lint or hair out of line before giving a small thanks and letting himself into the office. [break][break]

"Councilman I apologize for th-" he stopped frozen, just barely closing the door behind him as his eyes landed on Penelope. "What the fuck are y'doin' in that chair?" he asked, blood pressure sky rocketing. They didn't have the best history. she notoriously hated cops...and subsequently himself. And then there's also the other elephant in the room. "First the precinct, now my meetings- what do you want now?"

He's got all the time in the world, and he doesn't seem in any rush despite how straightforward he'd been. Maybe...just maybe, a little distracted, but chalk that up to the alcohol. But really, it wouldn't be the first time he got off behind a dumpster.

That much is evident by the slight surprise Jayden's appearance gave him. "Huh-?" he doesn't process it all fast enough as evidenced by the slow series of blinking and furrowing eyebrows. The pretty guy from the contest- He'd- Oh yeah, right. "The-...The fuckin' part...?" he asked slowly before his expression changed into a casual grin. "Yeah, you interested?" there's a slight pause but the alcohol gives him just enough push to continued. "I'll make it worth your whiiiiiiiile, pretty boy~"

"Don't take it too seriously, if you don't though." he added with a laugh.
