A lone young girl, in the middle of wasteland. "Hello?" he sent back, closing the distance but not fully, wary of the newcomer. "Identify yourself." he added as he adjusted the straps of his pack.

His kitten tries to dodge the GASTO ACID, skirting uneasily as it pools on the rocks before ringing a little bell on her collar summoning HEAL BELL under the cover of fire from her trainer. Hopefully the sound attack would help whoever was suffering from the poison generously spread around the camp. PARANOIA of he comrades choking to death made helping that a priority.

The continuous squeeze only shoots panic through Paxton as he grows more and more desperate to break free. He doesn't hear the Bewear crying, not his Riolu struggling to pull Jelly off her trainer. When Paxton begins coughing, struggling to suck in air she bounces off the Bewear and looks at the scene in a panic. And when Ashley punches the helmet, whipping Paxton's head to the side as he wheezed in a daze she makes her decision. The Riolu runs away, QUICK ATTACKING to gather distance before locking her eyes on Jelly. [break][break]

She sprints forward, faster and faster in more bursts of speed before jumping into the air and using her FINAL GAMBIT, flying kicking the Bewear in the head. The blast of firepower jolts the bear enough that Paxton gasps, arm finally reaching down to his knife before he puts it in a reverse grip and stabs it backwards into the Bewear. [break][break]

He hears the faint gasps of his Riolu and feels a cold fear grip his heart. He pulls the knife back out trying to carve it up the pokemon's body and escape. His eyes follow the noise and he shudders feeling like he's seen this movie before. [break][break]

Romeo cries out, relieved Paxton is still moving- fighting, even if he cannot. And as the Riolu heaves in her own death throws Paxton turns to the party responsible, letting out a scream of rage as he tries to close the distance and aim a punch blow with the hilt of his dagger at Ashley. Relentless, he follows with his other fist and a wild kick. All uncoordinated, all thoughtless.

As Lam's Pidove sends out a little RAZOR WIND the poison type heard roars angrily, stomping towards them as it summoned EARTH POWER. The attack throws Tango the Trapinch backwards an an almost comical arc. The little bug type scrambled back up from the incoming Nidoqueen before sending back the female pokemon with a FISSURE attack. Paxton stumbled forward but kept his balance. The Nidoking doesn't stop either sending out a SLUDGE WAVE towards the Pidove and Trapinch trying to poison them in order to slow them down.

The Articuno updates are concerning, but considering their familiarity with god beasts, Paxton tried to err on the side of caution and not panic. After all, everybody had taken their lumps during the Meteno clashes. Kyurem being the seemingly most powerful of the creatures the Triad had unleashed that day. [break][break]

He mulls it over before turning to look at ollie morales as he heard his named called out. Right, his notes. PENELOPE LIVY had helped him prepare before the meeting. It'd been a good distraction after their conversation that night. He tilts his head towards fellow lead, Josh Devlin before speaking up. "Thank you Josh for the update on the Beasts." [break][break]

"Afternoon, everyone. While my main position is Ranger Corps Liason to the council, I have been honored new responsibilities under Project SAPPHIRE as co-lead of exploration with former head ranger, annalise henderson . Essentially, all aspiring archeologists, historians, and explorers report to us." He glanced around at a couple of rangers that he'd already collaborating with. "Our department specializes in field work. Anybody interested need only apply with or without leads. However, those more interested in the science behind it may apply with illeana reyes as well. Our strength, as well as our understanding of legendary pokemon are just as essential as tracking down the beasts." he gives a nod to Callan Young . [break][break]

"As for outside of League affiliation, skyler dross and angelo vestri , co-owners of NAUTICA were present. However, I would be careful of speaking too much on Project SAPPHIRE plans with non-affiliated personnel." He looks over DEREK HOFFMAN nodding at him before adding, "And of course Derek has first hand accounts of Registeel which I imagine are what excited you in the first place." Foxtrot circled overhead chirping to make itself know, smoke trailing it as it prepared an EMBER attack. "Who are you? Where are you coming from?" he asked the trainer, distressed as she might be, he doesn't recognize her. He doubts she's a ranger, but he can't be sure if she's a civilian who snuck through or someone from another squad that's delirious from blood loss.

Their attacks hit but it doesn't seem to slow down the newcomer. Even as the THUNDERBOLT slams everything on the field, with Streentrup NOOTing in pain. But the Gallade ignores it, favoring to continue the attack with STONE EDGE. His partner is weak, and she probably couldn't handle much longer after all the concentrated abuse from the Golurk before it. [break][break]

"Push back!" he called out to his poor Octopus as she inhaled deep before blasting the field with HYDRO PUMP. Water goes everywhere but he's sure the Spiritomb can handle a little water. Under the cover of the oncoming wall of water, Paxton pulls off his rifle and takes one shot at the Gallade, the casing of a bullet flying hot and away before another is immediately loaded. Quick movements, and he aims the shot at the Rocket while ordering Elise back with a firm, "Go!" [break][break]

From this distance, and position the sniper lacks surprise in his movements which was a cornerstone for effectiveness. But he doesn't need to blow off heads. He just needs quick shots and the sound of Elise's stupid heels clacking farther and farther away from here. Gods forbid he lets a rookie drop before he does. Streenstrup lets out a cry of pain as CURSE continues to claw at her consciousness.

There's a pause in the shots as Isaac disappeared, and a wave of smog rolled through. Hot and carrying the smell of burning. The scene shifts, the screams muffle, and the gloom under a cloudy dusk is lit up by the burning of a building on a hill. Explosions goes off, the cries of survivors CALLISTA MOON and @sol ring out in the background. [break][break]

They corral the living, count the dead. All quickly moving back into the woodwork under the protection of battered and bruised pokemon. Paxton feels empty, staring at the demons of his past and the red, glowing eyes of the Rocket in pursuit. He trails behind his comrades gaze falling into that scanning motion. Joules steps forth to defend but the ghost and trainer disappear with the shift. They stay alert as Paxton turns to look at them, hearing a distant pinging. [break][break]

An SOS signal. Constant, weak. The man turned, swallowing hard. "Juliet." He whispered, before his eyes catch sight of the skull mask slipping in and out of the gloom. He follows without warning, slowly at first before taking off into a sprint after him. Association in his frazzled brain and the dream mist twisting reality and memory together until it slots Isaac perfectly into the role he always wanted to play: Rocket.

"You trained!?" Paxton snapped, never taking his eyes off Ashley despite the threat of another BRUTAL SWING from the sidelines. Romeo could take care of it. "Get up! You can't wave around your fuckin' toy anymore." he added not letting Ashley a second to recover. He'd toyed with him, laughed at him. Planned this whole fucking revenge plot over what? He picks up the pistol aiming it at Ashley, and fired a round right next to his ear, the one he'd mangled. Once, twice, three times. His hearing rings as his breathing turns into hard pants before he clicks the remaining bullets out and throws the gun back into the Rocket's face. [break][break]

"Get up and fuckin' kill me, brat!" he yelled grabbing a knife at his side. Before he can pull it out, the Bewear is upon him, squeezing him tight in a BIND he might've called cute were he not enraged. Stopped temporarily he squirms and struggles with no plan. Violent, aggressive. Wheezing as he tries to claw free and biting down on the pokemon's arms before realizing his helmet is still on. "ROMEO!" [break][break]

The Riolu responds in turn, rushing a FEINT from one of Jelly's flanks as Paxton tries to stomp on it's feet at the same time. He wouldn't let this pokemon stop him from reaching Ashley and that much is evident by how he tries to reach for the Rocket, clawing and fighting against the large bear pokemon.

PARANOIA begins to set in, and he fears he may have to pull back with Elise. After all, this lead was starting to feel lie ka dead end. He could keep supporting his rookie, sure, and set up a battle of attrition, or they could move on.

Even now, this is the only person here. If the SEAL really was down this cave, they'd be swarming out to put an end to the fighting. After all, with all the noise, both Rocket and League would move in to clash. It may be a hasty post, or a supply set up. Important in the grand scheme of things, but not enough to warrant Paxton sticking around. With no confirmation of the greater prize, he's less inclined to put all his effort into this fight.

His Octillery takes the CURSE and shakes as the ghostly power takes over. "You got it!" he quips, as his octopus aimed high and shot a large GUNK SHOT into the air, arcing over and falling over both of their opponents. It wouldn't do anything other than stink up the Goodra and their side of the playing field, but it was effective enough against the other one. "We should begin making out exit." he said as the comms light up on his end. Other skirmishes breaking out, possible movement of a SEAL elsewhere.

Paxton isn't watching and waiting when he encounters a gory unknown traversing the landscape. He's en route to pick up information on his next moves. Where was he needed now? The fights were raging on and Paxton needed to continue traveling to and fro, back and through the realms, until the fighting was exhausted or he was. It's on one of these resupply runs he sees ana fell in the distance. [break][break]

After first he forgets it may just be a trap, a lone Rocket. Mainly because he can see her stagger from his position. His hand moves up to issue a comms. "Cassidy to HQ, intercepting lone target en route to position Golf." he said, transmitting his position as he identified himself. He doesn't step closer to her, dropping his hand form his helmet and pulling the safety off the rifle. "You! Identify yourself. Do you need medical assistance?" he's not exactly the Red Cross, but he could stop some bleeding. Especially when he can clearly see dark red stains on her and her pokemon.
