Ah, cleaning. Cora knew the bare minimum about it. Someone like her didn't have to clean - there was no need for her to dust or even do the laundry herself, there were many ways for that to get done without her needing to even be in the house![break][break]

And yet, for the glory of Rocket, here she was. Forced to trim and clean and organise an old, forgotten secret base that had since become - judging by the colours and patterns on the feathers lying about - the home of an Unfezant.[break][break]

The call to sit back and do nothing was strong, but Cora was here with Mars. Mars in admin mode, on top of that. She knew he wouldn't take her bullshit, but also... he was a friend, Cora considered, and even the laziest part of her personality didn't want to saddle him with all the work when she could help out by, uh...[break][break]

Cora laughs when Avery strikes right back, and she laughs hard - it's positively unladylike. But she can't help keeling over and standing back up with a face-wide grin at being called an old lady. If anybody else had said it, she might give a polite, curt little fake-laugh if she wasn't allowed to cuss them out, but otherwise it'd be pistols at dawn. With Avery, though? It was far too funny, to see her little blue-haired treasure hurling such cruel insults. Mostly because she knew she didn't mean them, just like Cora didn't mean hers.[break][break]

She leans in close, just barely beyond teasing - at another time, she might've planted a hard kiss on her right then, but for now Cora kept things pleasant - just a gentle tickle of her lips against Avery's cheek. A tiny, neat smooch. A promise of more, silently, later.[break][break]

She almost dies laughing again at Avery's adverse reaction to acrylic nails.[break]
"They're nails, dumbass" She wiggles her own in her fellow rocket's face. "You think I have the time to paint my nails every single day? These are just stick-on ones, super simple. Although..." She takes Avery's hand, scans over the younger grunt's fingers for a moment. "Your short nails are much more useful in certain situations, hm~?"[break][break]

At the suggestion, she leans back, pauses. A finger taps on her chin. "Huh... I bet you could. A whole lot more fashionable than carrying a knife around."[break][break]

That being said, you could get some really cute knives.[break][break]

"Come on, try them on! For me?"

"Pft. While you're here, I'm your manager" She laughs right back. Cora was indeed inexperienced with Melody's mother, and perhaps if she knew her better, she might have minded her words... but as for now? Melody was a cutesy girl who Cora wanted to gain a little bit of confidence from their meeting today. Also, pretty selfishly, she wanted her model to look hot and not concerned about what her mum thought.[break][break]

She raises a brow once Melody's cheeks redden and can't help but grin, she's just so damn cute. Cora isn't sure if it's all a cutesy-wutesy act that Melody is just very good at, or whether she really is this naïve and sweet, but either way, it's charming. She wanted her to succeed at this as much as Melody did![break][break]

And so she waits.[break][break]

She taps her foot against the floor for a second to fill the silence - the photographer and herself exchange a quick wtf? glance, at which point Cora decides to just double check that Melody hasn't, like, accidentally knocked herself out while changing and died of blunt force trauma or something.. She hovers outside the curtain of the changing room, clears her throat a little.[break][break]

"You okay in there, amore mio? Need any help?"

When the Magnemite hovered into view, completely unaware of the group, Dolce bristled. He'd already charged, he was ready to let out a thunder shock to scare yet another intruder away, but Cora simply raised a hand and he stood down.[break][break]

The little magnet pokemon wasn't doing any harm, and honestly? It was pretty fucking cute. Maybe Cora's new life as a single mother of the tiny Toxel sleepily mumbling into her chest had melted her heart, or maybe she just had too much of a soft spot for little electric types to let this one go. Then again, she also loved cute little things like Unown... which in truth, didn't look all too different from Magnemite.[break][break]

Dolce leant against a whirring, beeping machine, closing his eyes - he appreciated the sounds as much as baby Gucci did. Gabbana joined her brother by the comfort of the machine, and Cora took the moment of chill to gently throw a pokéball towards the Magnemite, letting it bounce off of it's hard metal body... uh... head? Both?

She was aware that Avery got impatient like a little kid - it was something she adored about her, in fact. That made saying no to her all the more fun - Cora treasured the times where things could be draaaaawn out. So often her flirtations were a hunt for just one evening, a couple hours, never to be seen again after the sun rose. But she saw Avery much more often than her previous flings, so she could take time and tease things out. It was cruel, and it was delightful.[break][break]

The younger rocket keeps as still as promised while Cora applies her lipstick, though Cora can see in her face and in her every sinew how much she wants to move or fidget. It makes her smile - reminds her of herself as a kid, when she was learning how to clumsily put her face on with her mother's makeup.[break][break]

Cora watches her watch herself, stands up to stand behind her. She's positively beaming.[break][break]

"Me? I think it looks gorgeous, tesorina. It suits you beautifully. You look very grown up"[break][break]

It sounds condescending, but it's true - it removes a certain girlishness from her, no matter how much Avery's hard edge tries to mask it. Cora often felt she was the opposite - maturity masked by ditziness. [break][break]

"What next, hmmm~?" She taps her fingernails against the mirror's frame in thought, then disappears quick as a bolt - the idea hits her at the same time as the sound of the click-clack of her nails does. Not long after, Cora returns with acrylic nails, laid out delicately in a set, and much longer than would be convenient. "Wanna try these?"

Machamp time, indeed.[break][break]

Cora was used to being thrown around by big muscled strangers, but a pokémon was a new and slightly weirder situation. Still, she descended with grace and a slightly less dramatic tilt than Chu-e did. She managed to land without falling flat on her ass, though, which made for a pretty positive situation.[break][break]

She heard the fall too, though since nobody else seemed to have that much of a reaction to it, she also moved on. The stars aligned, it seemed - with the Underboss sorting out the whole lock situation and Kris taking out the technological side of things, Cora had little to do beside stand there looking beautiful. [break][break]

She re-adjusted her harness a little so that the wedgie situation was less urgent, checked her nails, then sidled up beside the ever-teeny-tiny Kris, who looked only more so besides Cora, considering she was a model-ready 5'11"[break][break]

"What was that noise, hun?"

That Sol didn't know what she was talking about had no effect on Cora, because she frankly didn't even notice - she did this wonderful thing where she would talk and talk, not specifically to another person, but mostly just as an excuse to talk about what she wanted. If her teammate had volunteered the information that she thought the Zorua hairpiece was cute, however, Cora would have definitely made a note. Probably would have found a way to hunt it down and gift it to her.[break][break]

Cora follows Sol and, as they catch up, the wolves towards the distant Mudsdale. She noticed that the air seemed to be more chill the closer they got. She shivers a little.[break][break]

"Ugh- it's so cold. Do you feel that?"[break][break]

In the corner of her eye, just the faintest glimpse of that red glowing orb again, then gone. The horse pokémon calms a little as it's rider pats it's neck.[break][break]

"Wh-! That glow again! Am I going insane, or do you see that shit too?"

Perhaps hearing the commotion, a Pawniard is quick to take the place of the curious Rotom, but it seemed more agitated than the previous guest had been. With it's pokey little blade-hands bared, Cora couldn't help but roll her eyes at the little pokemon.[break][break]

This time, it took a little more than a growl, but Dolce's CHARGE, although not too effective, proved enough to scare the little Pawniard into also disappearing back into the darkness.[break][break]

It was a shame it was so hard to lie low here in New Mauville - hiding behind machinery tended to be what the wild pokémon did too, unlike in the forests up above where one could really just duck behind a pile of leaves or something.

The Rotom seemed more curious than ready to attack, despite how mischievous Cora knew the plasma pokémon could be when it wanted to. Perhaps it recognised the sleeping baby Toxel and the mama-bear-death-glare from Cora, or perhaps it was the fact that the two Toxtricities in the area prepped to fight it off as soon as they noticed it, but it barely even took a GROWL from Dolce before the Rotom was zipping out of there as fast as it could.[break][break]

The gentle rumblings of machinery whirred on, and Cora gently stroked Gucci's ear with the back of her finger. If only there were a better view from down here - if she could have watched the full moon while she petted the fussy baby, it would be perfection.

The descent down into New Mauville was something you wouldn't assume a model and fashion designer would do often, especially considering she literally didn't even work here, but she honestly liked it down beneath the city, surrounded by the whir of all the power planty... thingies. Hey, I already said, she didn't work here, okay?[break][break]

Even better, it made the kids feel great.[break][break]

With Dolce and Gabbana content to explore on their own terms, Cora had the baby Gucci strapped in a sling across her front, fast asleep to the sounds of motors and machinery. Cora's excursion to the depths today had nothing to do with the fact that sweet little Toxel had been wailing for hours and this was the only thing that made him sleep soundly. Did she still have her curlers in? God, what time was it?[break][break]

Any wild pokémon that was tempted to wake the sweet baby from his peaceful slumber had better say it's prayers, because Cora might just beat them up herself.

She grinned at Avery telling her to shut up - it was almost cute coming from her little blue-haired delight. In a way, when she said that, it was a lot more charming than any romantic line she could have thrown at her. What could she say? Cora had a thing for the feisty ones.[break][break]

"I'd love to, and you know that" It's said alongside a wink, and spoken entirely in truth. Cora may have been a slut - and a proud one at that - but she didn't flirt without meaning it.[break][break]

She took a moment to fetch a chair for herself and move it in front of Avery, so they can sit just about knee-to-knee to each other. She took the lipstick in her hand and leant in, just a few centimetres from Avery's face, before putting her free hand under the young woman's chin and hold it, gentle and firm, to stop any wobbliness that might lead to unbalanced application.[break][break]

"Don't move too much, amore mio, and keep your mouth just a little open"[break][break]

As much as Cora loved make-up and took it très seriously, it was hard to not just smooch Avery's nose or squish her cheeks like the pouches on a Skwovet. Having a little power over her like this was far too tempting.[break][break]

He was right, they were pretty good, and as she downed her cup she couldn't help but be glad they were somewhere... y'know, safe to drink. She'd had drinking competitions before in some of the stupidest places, and doing some of the stupidest things.[break][break]

Multiple times backstage at a show, twice at funerals - on horseback, once, too.[break][break]

Cora had certain skills that could be put to use by Rocket in a whole menagerie of ways. For example, she'd lost count of the married men she'd slept with in order to blackmail them into providing her money - money that, of course, went to the great goals of rocket. And a little bit towards new shoes.[break][break]

Another one of those skills she was good with was whenever people wanted to disguise themselves. Unlike pokemon, people couldn't obscure themselves as easily as a Zoroark's illusion could. But with Cora around, they could get pretty close! Plus for girls like Avery, to whom make-up seemed like something unthought of and forgotten, it doubled as an important life lesson in looking good and, in turn, feeling good.[break][break]

She did have to try really hard not to laugh at the way Avery was holding the lipstick tube, though.
"It's lipstick, not a Zigzagoon, Avery, you don't have to hold it like it's about to bite you"[break][break]

"But yeah, you just put it on. You wanna try or do you want me to do it?" She raised a perfectly-threaded eyebrow above an eye covered in enough eyeshadow and mascara to paint a small village. "You're lucky you've got such pretty lips."[break][break]

Was it flirting? Was it sarcasm? Was a compliment? Was it mocking? Yes.[break][break]
