He's rough, violent, intense in his pursuit. The cuff of her jacket catches on her wrist and he pulls it off anyway. His want for her is dizzying but she keeps up, teasing him with warm breath against his neck and teeth against his earlobe.

And in the midst of their power struggle, she manages to remove clothing of his, too. It should be cold outside, but with their extravagant bonfire glowing behind them, it is impossible to be cold even without their extra layers.

Remi growls, pulled closer and held tighter. His fingers dig to find purchase and she curves her back in toward him to eliminate the distance. Her hand hooks around the back of his head, holding just as tight.

"The big.. bad.. wolf.. is here, I see."

Her chuckle is dark, her smile predatory. She removes her shirt and presses close to him, body molding to fit his own. She leaves a trail of sharp kisses against his neck to find his lips. He wants it rougher, and so she stops holding back.

"Is that right? Wow-- I'm flattered."

She chuckles, her intentions less than innocent. Once more, she loses, but evidently she doesn't mind. With each removal of clothing, she takes longer and longer to peel them off. She removes her jacket next, shrugging it off slowly.

If he wants a show, perhaps he should pay closer attention to the one right in front of him.

"Let's hope that you can keep up, hm?"

She knocks back another round, flicks it closer to him for a refill, and wraps her fingers around his hand once more.

"Head of Intel but you won't tell me where the fuck my brother is. You're really bad at your job, I hope you know that."

Keeping secrets was disgusting, especially when it came to matters as serious as this. Or at least, it was serious to her, and therefore, despicable.

"No, no you're not."

But he interrupts her and it takes her breath away. He circles her, and although she attempts to keep moving and keep her eyes trained on him, he falls out of her line of sight and eventually comes up from behind her. It would be hot, probably, if she weren't so pissed at him.

"Why are you asking me? Head of Intel should already know the answer."

Feelings long since left behind, buried beneath distraction after distraction rise to the surface quickly and violently. Though he doesn't touch her, he might as well have.

Remi turns at the sound of her name, eyes wide as they take him in. He is exactly the same as she remembers him, tall and kind and just as impossibly far away.

But his questions leave her exasperated and confused. For a moment, she has to wonder if he even remembers her at all.

"I'm here because my brother is dead."

She keeps her distance, one hand held out to stop him from coming any closer.

"Are you telling me that you didn't know? You were supposed to protect him."

"I'm sure."

And his interest in her increases exponentially. It brings a smile to her face, one full of confidence and seduction and unbridled lust. Her bra remains on the table and his attention switches to it immediately, like a predator and she the prey.

Oh, but how she enjoyed being hunted.

"What's the matter, hm?"

She speaks too soon, but the thrill and the fun keep her interested. Even when her hand slams against the table again and another piece of clothing is payment for her loss. This time, she kicks off her boots and runs her toes up against his shin.

"You're trying awfully hard to win, my dear."

Her brows furrow as she brings the cigarette to her lips. She savors the heat and the burn, choosing to focus on it rather than the ceaseless chatter of a man she doesn't even know.

Only when she feels satisfied with the silence and the smoke in front of her face does she speak up.

"... excuse me? She's pregnant?"

Whatever, that just means she can charge a premium. She didn't deal in 'two for the price of one'. Another drag, and she can respond to the second half.

"Are you telling me you came unprepared, without your own food and water?"

Unanimously, the crew all staring at him begin to laugh.

"We don't offer hospitality. We're smugglers and thieves, and we bring our own water bottles to gigs."

What a strange, strange girl.

Remi watches, amused, as Kaida stifles her laughter and comes to a moment of silence. Her Krookodile continues to puff out its chest, evidently energized by the ferocious display. And now, with the people all gone from the streets with their signs and their pitchforks, civilians come out from their shops to breathe a sigh of relief.

"Friend?" she scoffs, but stifles that, too, because she realizes that once again, this girl is serious. "I'm just peachy. Glad to, uh, be of help."

She even salutes, even if it is inappropriate to, before dipping her head and beginning to walk away. Her hands are in her pockets and she shakes her head, clearly amused by the entire situation.

"The people of Hoenn are so strange."

Remi laughs, loudly with her head thrown back.

"I don't think anyone's too lucky to see a pair up close n' personal."

She gasps, seconds later, as the back of her hand smacks against the table. It stings, and she pulls her hand back. But rules are rules, even if she's sure he cheated somehow. His continued teasing, however, prompt her to be sneaky, too.

"Wouldn't you like to know?"

With deft fingers, she unclasps her bra and pulls it out from under her shirt. She tosses it onto the table in exchange for the renewed glass. She downs it in one gulp, drawing her tongue along her bottom lip and fitting her hand in his once more.

She's done her research. She's done everything in her limited power to find him.

But there was plenty more out of her reach. There was an entire universe of possibility and power that she had never had access to. Power that she had been afraid of understanding, and so she'd turned the other cheek.

And in doing so, had lost her brother.

"It should mean something to you. Someone murdered him- and I believe he was an avatar like you, like the others."

Her grief is thinly-veiled as she struggles to keep her voice in check. Her attitude remains the same, but it trembles now as she stands opposed.

"If you weren't involved, that means you might be next."

"What? It's fine. I got it like that, and nothing has changed-- it's fine."

But she takes a second look anyway, a sharp double-take to reassure herself. The last thing she needed was to transport a dying Pokemon. If it died after delivery was one thing, she knew how to shake off an ungrateful customer-- but delivering a dead one?

When she looks back, he's grinning at her. It's so creepy she leans back and away from the man, visibly put-off. Who was he? Who hired him? Send him back.

"Do I look like the cook? I don't have anything."

Nothing but a half pack of cigarettes. The same pack that she reaches for now, hurriedly fishing for one to fill the space between her lips.

Was this guy dense? How was he in a position of power if he had a thousand-yard stare?

"You're one of them."

Disgust, maybe, lines the edge of her sharp tone. Where he bites, she bites back harder. Fearless to a fault, arrogant and direct. She wanted answers and she would stop at nothing to find them.

"Gavin Merlino, the holier-than-thou patron of Lugia, I guess. I know who you are."

Barely.

"My brother is dead because of people like you."

A guess.

"He put his faith in a deity and it got him killed."

Pain lances up her heel all the way to the hollow space behind her kneecap. It sucks the breath right out of her lungs as her entire body vibrates from the impact. But she stands tall, shoulders back and face severe, barely masking her pain.

And the man on the other side of the door opens it to stare down at her. Somehow, that aggravates her even further. Maybe it's because he doesn't recognize her - not that he should. Frankly, he shouldn't, otherwise she was a terrible businesswoman in her line of work.

"Roman Cassel. Reshiram. Any of that ring a bell for you?"

She speaks quickly and with venom on her tongue. There is accusation in her words despite the liklihood that he has no idea what she's talking about. Something in her gut tells her that the man in front of her can't even help her. Roman would never have gotten himself involved in the underground, in Rocket, in experimentation or dirty hands.

But.. what if she was wrong?

Naturally, she's overreacting. She's always been a ticking time-bomb, but she's always been the protector. If anyone had ever been unkind and bullied her brother, she'd been the one to step in. She'd always been the one to step in.

And now he was dead, and she hadn't been there, and she hadn't been able to protect him like she had when they were kids.

So the only logical course of action for her to take is to channel her anger and her grief into some fucked up form of acceptance.

How?

By putting her foot through Cillian Quinn's door.

And once the door is open - or maybe it's reinforced so she's just bounced back really hard and given a solid, jarring, probably terrifying bang... she just stands there. Because she hasn't thought further than her own impulsive aggression. She had a million questions, and she'd heard plenty of rumors and truths and information surrounding the admin.

He was an avatar.

And an avatar is the reason her brother was dead.
