Crude humor, Remi was not one to play nice, clearly. He proposes a bet with unfavorable odds.

Its a good thing she's spent the morning drinking her worries away. She has none left, and the world exists in the palm of her hand. Remi laughs, tossing her head back, and snatches his hand in her own.

"Good thing my suitcase hasn't arrived yet then, hm?"

With a sudden iron grip, she buckles down to wrestle his wrist into the table.

"Huh. I definitely don't remember giving out my number."

But apparently she had, and now she had an obligation to follow-up with the pretty lady from the bar. Red hair and red eyes, a wicked smile and good taste in alcohol.

It's the alcohol, is what she tells herself.

"What's the angle? If you're trying to get my attention there are easier ways, my dear."

She's teasing, mostly. The text had mentioned a quest, alcohol, and maybe even the promise of pay. She liked lining her pockets with money that isn't dirty. Remi pulls a cigarette from her lips and exhales a plume of smoke out of the corner of her mouth. She winks.

"Hm."

He had to be lying-- everyone needs something. But she lets it slide and doesn't push. She doesn't care, in the end, she's just looking to get paid. If he wasn't interested in what she had to offer for work, she'd find someone else. He was just convenient, is what she was telling herself.

"You might be right. You might be wrong."

She regards him, her attention never straying even as the final ball is sunk. He's won, but had she ever even been trying? His rules are simple, too simple, maybe. Vague, too, with plenty of room for fucking shit up and involving strangers.

"Guess I'd better quit bein' a stranger then, hm?"

There is a slightly seductive smirk that flits across her expression - but it fades quickly.

"No friends, just me. You can search me, if you'd like."

"Imagine losing an arm wrestle to a Pokemon-- no wait, imagine picking an arm wrestle against a Pokemon."

She laughs more, wheezing and leaning back with her arms crossed over her chest. Gasping breaths are forced out of her and she comes to a slow halt, wiping tears from her eyes with a cheeky grin.

"I didn't make that up, I just heard it."

Truth.

He then growls, much the same way a bear might, honestly, which makes her chuckle more. He slams his elbow onto the table and stares at her, his face pink with what she picks up as embarrassment.

Naturally, she rises to the challenge. She kicks off of the bench she's been sitting on and makes her way over. With an open-kneed drops down across from him, she smirks, flashing teeth. Her elbow drops in front of him and she wiggles her fingers.

"Let's find out then, babe."

Her fingers dig into her scalp, messing up her silver hair. She grips so tight she stifles pain, and she appears ready to crumble to her knees.

But a familiar voice asks her if she's okay, and she pulls her face out of her hands to stare. There is fire behind slate-coloured eyes, a rage unbridled, raw, and distinct.

"Oh, fuck me."

Rather than answer him, her face flushes red, redder than it had been in her grief, and she walks quickly away from him.

Background noise, that's what this guy was. She'd met people like him in her line of work: total weirdo's who got a rush of blood when around Pokemon and their behaviours and.. whatnot.

She'd learned to ignore and walk away. Unfortunately, this guy didn't just keep talking to himself - he was persistent and intentionally talking to her, and expecting an answer.

So she sighs, tilts her head back, lowers her clipboard and turns her cheek to face him.

"I did not, nor did I ask."

But she glances back at the Pokemon, squints, shrugs, sighs again.

"Looks like God's ugly mistake to me, though. Shoulda stayed extinct."

"Ew, the fuck?"

She immediately looks down and steps back for fear he's already pissing himself. Fortunately, it appears his pants aren't damp and there is no wetness on the floor - but maybe he has good pants.

"Don't piss on the floor, man, have some self-respect."

Fortunately, the mentioning of virgil roach eases some of her concerns. But only some, because apparently, this guy has a bladder the size of a pea.

"Uh-huh... sounds about right."

She squints.

"He does, sometimes." If I have anything good for him, that is. "But he didn't know anything about this."

A bold-faced lie, because Roach almost certainly knew and would have probably shot her if he didn't. Because he would, eventually. But it was all the better to make this guy squirm.

"Wouldn't you know that if he'd sent you?"

But she smirks, playing along with the inappropriate line of joking. It turns into barking laughter at the mention of her boobs and whether or not they look like udders.

"Thank God, no."

He introduces himself and she tilts her cheek away, plopping down on the bench or whatever it is he'd been sitting on in front of his Miltank. With expert jazz hands and a cocky smirk, she grabs hold and begins her demonstration.

"Remi, and I can't say the same, really. You don't seem the type to check out women."

She laughs.

"A perfect job. Yeah."

They always do, right? They're impeccable, working tirelessly to shame and degrade the League of whom were such a disappointment. What a crazy world.

"Sounds like you've got a bone to pick or two with the League, eh? What'd they do, kick your puppy?"

"Is that the best you've got? Here I thought I was meeting the big bad bear-man so I could learn a thing or two."

She guffaws, her voice carried by loudly proclaimed confidence and a belly-laugh. The woman doubles over, hand clapping to her knee as she tries to catch her breath. There might not even be anything particularly funny, but she's clearly seen something.

Set aside on a table is a half-empty bottle of liquor. It sloshes as she picks it up to bring it to her lips, and her easy grin persists even as she takes a swig.

"You look ridiculous."

"What? Has it eaten? I don't know, I put food in there with it. I'm not it's mother, if it eats or doesn't isn't my problem."

She sounds frustrated, but that may be because it's taken them the better part of the evening to set up the shipment. None of the containers had been emptied on time, which meant Remi had spent her time clearing shit out and preparing them for housing Pokemon.

Not ideal, is what she's saying. So to be asked for the third time in the span of ten minutes if the damn Arctozolt has eaten is wearing down her patience.

With a wave of her hand, she attempts to blow off the man interrogating her, resuming mulling over the paperwork in her hand.
