Yeah, Asher couldn't help but feel stupid. Shaking his head, he elaborated. "I don't even know what a contest is. Well, what kind you're talking about." What was she talking about? Sadly, his current circumstances also didn't allow him to have internet. He didn't keep electronics, far too easy to lose them or get stolen. And he wasn't going to waste what little money he had on something like that. What did make him pale and his eyes widen was that this lady just introduced herself as an Elite Four member. Although...she also seemed very friendly. Not at all what he expected.

She even called Bones cute. The fire and ghost Pokemon blushed and looked away, making Asher giggle a little. Melody had other Pokemon, because of course she would, but currently only had her biggest boy with her. Well, duh, Wailord were like, the largest Pokemon known! "Yeah, Wailords are giants. Anyways, what contest routine, what are you talking about? Sorry, my circumstances don't exactly let me have luxeries like the internet..." Or other things kids like him should have. Like loving parents and brother. But that didn't happen.

Asher ignored the old man and continued on his way. Sadly, as he was ruffling through his catch, the man actually caught him off guard. After the comment, as if to prove a point, the man emptied his wallet...definitely not much. And then mentioned a threat. Snorting and looking at the guy up and down, the boy responded. "A lot of people claim that. And yet, they're full of shit, and nothing happens outside of me getting a few bruises and them getting a lot more bruises. The only thing in your favor, was that I did get a bad feeling and decided against it at the last minute, so you might not be full of shit. That said, if you have some odd jobs a kid like me can do...I don't mind earning money more legitimately...just not many places will hire a kid." Let alone full time, nor enough to maybe live off of.

That said, he was no prostitute, or anything of the like. He had delivered questionable goods for Rocket and others before. And he was careful himself, and his Alolan Marowak made sure he was safe. They did occasionally get over their heads, but they'd been lucky so far. Maybe his luck just got a little better? Hopefully not worse...

Cillian Quinn

A man stepped out and immediately started to ask questions. The guy showed no fear. That alone sparked some hesitation. Still, Asher snarled back at the man. "None of your business, and securing a roof over my head, temporarily or otherwise. You?" Maybe some guarded sympathy might help his case. But otherwise, a little intimidation might be good too. Ash slipped a hand behind his back to where he kept his tanto dagger that he kept in imaculate condition. Only...to not find it there. Eyes bulging out, he sputtered a weak "Eh?". That made his Marowak look back and around. Spotting something up above, he fired a ring of green flames in Will-O-Wisp. The figure disappeared, dodging the attack. Angry, the teenager quickly spotted a way up, a pipe. He went into a boosting position, and Bones jumped into the boy's hands. And he got boosted up onto the roof, using Bonemerang to stop the culprit dead in its tracks.

Asher then climbed the pipe with surprising speed, showing some of his athleticism. By the time the red head was up, he could hear a fight below him, and Bones and a Thievul locked in battle. And Bones was easily winning. Thinking about what Thievul do, Asher thought maybe the dark type would be a good addition to his theft crew. Plus, clearly it knew how to steal, it just stuck around too long. After Bones smacked it with the bone, making it drop the tanto, and seemingly about to drop, Asher took out a Pokeball and threw it.

Asher tried to find some easy targets on the way towards the man, but no luck. As it happens, he spotted the man buying some food, putting his wallet within easy reach of the boy. Oh, this was going to be good. At first, he slowly moved in, hoping the Vulpix mask hid his eyes enough so no one would know where he was looking at. As the man adjusted his Blaziken mask and started to text, Asher moved in for the swipe. But as he got close...something didn't feel right. Just as he decided at the last minute to think better of it, the man suddenly turned around and told him that he hoped that Ash wasn't following him. He'd long been had?!

But if nothing else, the red head thought quickly. "What? Ew, why would I follow a disgusting old man?! Weirdo..." He continued to walk. Oh, but he was going to rob the guy. Well...since the guy had long spotted him...maybe it was best to see if the man had any jobs that he could take? Guess he just need to keep an eye on the guy and see what more he can glean from him. Seeing a prime opportunity though, he snagged a wallet from an unsuspecting couple. Moving on, he stayed in the shadows, going through the wallet's contents as he kept an eye on the man. Maybe the guy would actually let his guard down if he ignored him long enough? Well, whatever the case, he was a big fish...too big for Asher to ignore.

Cillian Quinn

Asher Beran was out in the Night Market Bazaar. There was some sort of celebration going on or something, it was a more festive air than normal. The blazing red head wore a fox mask with his yellow T-shirt and ill fitting black trousers with a red cloth-like belt. Worn blue shoes rounded his outfit along with three pokeballs at his waist in an old holder that he had found when dumpster diving one day. While he was partially out here to enjoy the extra festive air, he was also here to get some of that sweet sweet dollar signs. Sadly, in the only way he knew how. Theft.

And so far, he hadn't had many good targets. A whopping two wallets. Whoo hoo. One had a mere five pokedollars in it, the rest being cards. Pfft, those were risky to use. The second one was only marginally better, with twenty pokedollars in it. At least he could buy himself some snacks. But enjoying anything else was practically a no go. But someone did catch his notice. He didn't know why, but he had a gut feeling that they had a lot of money stashed in a wallet. What the heck, in this crowd, who would know that he was stalking someone, just waiting to see where they kept their money and lifting it off of them? Let alone who would suspect a kid? Asher set off to stalk his prey...

The startled cussing made him giggle a little. When he wasn't working at a bakery or over at Lavaridge Town being a hot springs attendant, he was stealing and peddling stolen goods. Or just outright theft of money, food, or clothing. Taking any jobs he can get his hands on. Including those odd jobs from Rocket. It wasn't the best life, but sadly, better than the one he had back in Alola. After explaining that she didn't see him there, Asher pointed back at the beach house surf board seller. "I was hiding behind there for a minute." Who knew his level in stealth had been upgraded.

Still, she seemed somewhat guarded. A performance? Tilting his head in curiosity, he asked a question. "Not the entire time...just some of it at the end. What kind of performance? It looked good whatever it was for..." He'd only caught the tail end of the performance. Maybe it was better if seen all the way through? He didn't know, but it had piqued his interest. "You also look vaguely familiar...like I've seen you on TV or something...Oh, I'm Asher, by the way. Silky here, Fletcher up there, and Bones all the way over there. Nice to meetcha." He pointed at each of his Pokemon too. Fletcher the Fletchinder, Bones the Alolan Marowak, and Silky the Larvesta. All fire types.

Asher had been dumpster diving. While he did manage to get some food for his Pokemon, he didn't find any for himself. That was fine, he had some already...main thing he was looking for were things that could help him keep a place to himself. A little shelter. He had found what appeared to be an abandoned business, the owners long gone and no one looking at it for a long time. The five foot five red head had set up shop there, making his "bedroom" in the office. Still, he needed to secure the place of any other breakins. And he didn't need any other Pokemon in there too. So here he was, searching in dark corners for anything of use. Since you never know what you'll find in said dark corners.

Silky the Larvesta was on his shoulder, while his strong Alolan Marowak, Bones, was keeping an eye out. Plastic wrap was great for setting up traps if it was long enough...but this stuff was moldy. Cardboard was nice for bedding...and these sheets were decent size. A noise startled him, and Bones was immediately confronting the direction of the noise. Ash waited with baited breath in the pale moonlight, waiting to see what or who stepped out of the darkness...

DW: Poison/Dark types

While music wasn't completely odd around a a beach, whatever kind this was fit the oddity. Even more so since there was a lady dancing on a huge Wailord. While she was beautiful, and looked good dancing...something was...different. He couldn't really place it. While she herself was recognizable enough for Asher to know that he's seen her somewhere, with his current living situation, he didn't have time to focus on who she was. But it seemed like she was preparing for something. Stepping around the beach house, he made himself fully known.

"Um...if you don't mind my asking...what were you doing? It looked like you were practicing for something..." Normally, he was more than a little mischievous. But this time, he had pure intentions. The five foot five red head still kept his distance, not wanting Silky to get wet. He also didn't want to startle her too much. And if she took offense to his watching her, the distance would be nice to make his escape.

Asher walked along the beach. His goal today wasn't just scouring the beach for anything of value to pawn off, but to also chuck any little Pokemon annoyances out to sea. He had convinced a Shellder and a Corphish to skedaddle from the area. Through peaceful means. All of his Pokemon were fire types...and sure, Bones is by far his toughest, but even he would get defeated easily by water-types. Though perhaps that was because he wasn't a particularly tough battler...merely average? He didn't know...he didn't get into a whole lot of playful Pokemon fights. All he knew was that to be strong, you had to learn to fight alone. And he and all his Pokemon can do that. Speaking of, his Fletchinder was flying above him keeping an eye out on things, while his Alolan Marowak was a dozen yards more inland, still on the beach, patrolling and keeping the peace...if anything was actually causing a ruckus. And his baby Larvesta, Silky, was on his shoulder.

It wasn't until Fletcher started to circle around something did the little red headed petty thief and general odd jobs kid take interest. Jogging over, he peaked around the corner of a little beach house selling/renting surf boards...

Asher nodded. And seemed like Adrian didn't have anything else in mind. "Well, if you happen to know someone that could use someone for odd jobs, I do work part time at Chansey's Bakery and Breakfast, and I'm sometimes at Auntie Maydall's Hotel, helping out their cleaning staff on occasion. I still appreciate the thought and suggestions. Good luck with your music career, and thanks again for attempting to help me." Another dud, but at least more productive than the last one, since that was Eris, someone younger than him. Hopefully that will come back to give him another job.

Even if he was famous, Asher probably wouldn't have known it. He was far too busy just trying to get by, after all. Though the thought of letting his Pokemon do it...was kind of hilarious. "All I have are fire types. So unless the person wants to turn their yard to ash and risk burning down their house, I'm the guy to go to." He chuckled amusingly. Wouldn't that be funny? Still, the thought is appreciated. The musician suggested PokeJobs. Asher's shoulders slumped and looked down. Sadly, he often needed his Pokemon to help him steal. But he couldn't say that. And he had tried that before...to disastrous results. "I've tried that...Bones ended up beating up the client's Eevee and Pikachu, and Fletcher ended up setting the job site on fire by accident...clearly they're not cut out for those Pokejobs...ah, they're my Alolan Marowak and Fletchinder respectively." Did he mention he had fire types? And they tended to burn things? He wasn't going to go anywhere...and he wanted to do something with his life...but he had no support or anything. Did this Adrian guy even know how lucky he actually was?
