Various sounds of all different kinds of Bug Pokemon could be heard throughout Petalburg forest, which gave off mysterious vibes in the night.. With arms crossed Lux relaxes against the back of a tree, eyes shut peacefully. While he may appear relaxed, he’s actually on high alert for all kinds of sounds. Currently, their mission was to protect the Ledian and Ledyba that are to soar through the night sky.[break][break]
So far, thankfully, it’s been a pretty quiet night. However, Lux knew better than to let his guard down. Predators lurk around every corner.[break][break]
Still, it couldn’t hurt to kill a little time, right?[break][break]
He shifts his attention to Emmett (his partner for the mission) and offers a warm smile.[break][break]

As always Luka was absolutely stunning, picture perfect, something polaroids and paintings could only hope to recreate. Sirius happily cuddles in her arms, because after all, it’s been forever since he’s been last held by her![break][break]
“You have? Merveilleux! I always knew you would turn out to be an excellent trainer.” Lux smiles, genuinely proud of her. Not to brag either but, he’s been making pretty great strides in life as well too. He tugs on the green ranger armband on his sleeve, bashful in expression.[break][break]
“A-Admittingly i’m still in training.. But! I wanted to follow in my parents footsteps in Pokemon Preservation, but in my own way. So I’ve decided to become a Pokemon Ranger!”[break][break]

Someone’s beloved Pokemon has gone missing and it’s their sworn duty to reunite the pair back together. To not take this seriously, well, he should just turn in his armband right then and there.[break][break]
Alright, where to look first..[break][break]
When asked directly, Lux ponders for a short moment, before voicing aloud their exact thoughts.[break][break]
“Well.. I would guess within the city first? There’s lots of hiding places, so the Skitty wouldn’t have needed to roam very far outside.” Besides, Skitty isn’t very good at camouflage (the bright pink coat doesn’t help matters.) Still, the forests within the city were dense and thick, so it could easily hide itself and not be spotted. “If I had to guess.. Skitty got out, was spooked by something, then ran up the nearest tree? Though, the question is.. which one.” [break][break]
It’s daunting to even begin searching, given that this is the tree capital of the region. [break][break]
He’s treating this like a mystery really, but it’s good to see him taking it so seriously. Lux would be heartbroken if he lost even one of his Pokemon.[break][break]
“Have there been any recent sightings beyond the point where it was last seen?[break][break]

Even behind the curtain the bustling energy of the audience had reached Lux’s heart, freezes it like cold stone lodged in his throat. It’d be an outright lie to say the suspense wasn’t getting to him, stage fright at the worst opportunity. Just when he thinks about disappearing in the night (wouldn’t be too out of character, given his outfit) Meowstic tugs down on his cape, nods up at their trainer with a determined expression.[break][break]
Lux, smiling back, crouches down and returns Meowstic back to his Pokeball.[break][break]
No turning back now.[break][break]
As Lux steps out onto stage all the lights are already overpowering, but he doesn’t flinch, rather he basks in the glow with a newfound confidence. In the middle stands Lux, who’s cladded head-to-toe in an extravagant tuxedo suit, dark and mysterious as midnight itself.[break][break]
"Bonjour, tout le monde! My name is Lux Defort. Tell me, do you know what the brightest star in the sky is?"
[break][break]
The audience goes silent, a little confused.[break][break]
Behind the white mask adorning his violet eyes lies a glimmer, a faint spark, though it's hard to notice with the mysterious grin he flashes the audience, leaving no room for any answers.[break][break]
“If not, then I shall show you.”[break][break]
On cue all the lights, aside from the spotlight centered on him, shudder off and go dark. All eyes on them. Lux sways his sparkling cape as he takes a humble bow. Then, gracefully as one can, tips the tophat off from his head. With a calculated flick of his wrist, Lux throws the hat directly upward into the sky above, leaving it all to chance![break][break]
From inside it’s depths, the tophat begins to harbor a strange light. Then, within that blinding flash pops out Meowstic, cloaked in a magical white light! Even as the afterglow fades the Pokemon’s appearance does not disappoint.[break][break]
As if the Milky Way itself were captured in fabric, Meowstic adorns a white and midnight-blue Sailor Moon-esque dress. A single crimson bow lies stitched in the collar, a subtle, yet beautiful representation of the ever-burning sun in the solar system.[break][break]
Now all the lights click back on! Without skipping a single beat Meowstic twirls midair, naturally as any ballerina on stage, surrounded by an mystical array of beautiful rainbow waves that reach all the way out to the surprised audience, who erupt into cheer.[break][break]
Meowstic maintains this hypnotizing use of Psybeam right up until he nails the landing, settling perfectly atop Lux’s extended out arm.[break][break]
As it falls, Meowstic swiftly catches the top hat as the pair bow in unison.[break][break]
"The scientific response would be, "Alpha Canis Majoris", but you may call him the one, the only, Sirius!"[break][break]
The hat levitates into the air and back atop Lux’s head as Sirius backflips off it’s trainer’s arm, another perfect landing back on the stage! Both trainer and Pokemon bow again, ending their little show. [break][break]
"Merci beaucoup, Slateport!"[break][break]
As the curtains draw to a close Lux winks, then boldly throws out a purple rose out to the audience for any lucky person to catch and keep!

Unlike Lux, who weakly laughs along at his superior’s joke, Sirius crinkles up his little face in what could only be described as "disgust." Though, back to more important matters at hand.[break][break]
“A missing Skitty?”[break][break]
Right, a beloved Pet Pokemon throughout the Hoenn region. He’s seen his fair share of the pink felines while staying here. It worries him that one’s lost here of all places, given all the trees. The poor little thing could be stuck anywhere, all cold and afraid.[break][break]
Lux nods, wears a determined smile. “Y-Yes, we’ll find it in a flash! Um, j-just a second please..” He turns back to Sirius, levels down to his friend’s height to hold onto his small paws.[break][break]
“You can’t join me on this one, buddy. So stay here at the Ranger Station and be a big boy, alright?”[break][break]
Sirius meows back, as if to say 'I should be saying that to you!' though who could tell?[break][break]
Lux stands up back. “Right! My first mission.. I’m ready whenever you are.”[break][break]

Lux never claimed to be one for sentiments, yet as he sees Luka (for the first time in a long time) he cannot help the feelings of happiness that display across his face, like hues of the rainbow, vibrant and expressive. Sirius is delighted as well as he mewls happily in her arms, shamelessly nuzzling his face in her bosom. Same old Sirius, he never changes.[break][break]
He collects his bearings and smiles brightly, yet politely in her presence. Lux, also, never changes.[break][break]

He had branched beyond Galar and Kalos to come here to train as a Pokemon Ranger. He never expected to see her again along the way. Truly, it warms his heart to know she’s well.[break][break]

Field experience is an entirely different experience than just reading books and memorizing information. Of course, he knew, but being practically thrown into the wild is intimidating nontheless. Now, they're waiting for the person meant to train him for their first field day, guide them through the ropes as they say.[break]
Just when Lux felt like getting cold feet, try again another day when he's more mentally prepared, Sirius rubs against his leg, giving him a paw... thumbs up?[break]
Lux chuckles and lovingly ruffles the Meowstic's head.[break]
"Thank you." He whispers.[break]
Just like that the sliding doors from the Ranger center open and a booming voice soon follows. Lux immediately straightens his posture (his Pokemon mirrioring him) and bows briefly toward his mentor, before rising up again.[break]
"Yes! I'm Lux, Lux Defort. It's nice to meet you." Sirius hops into place like an excited Scorbunny and Lux holds back another smile. Act professional. "And.. this is my Partner, Sirius. Though he won't be joining us on the mission."}

Lux was used to this by now, his Partner Pokemon's childish defiance, the insistence of always going on headfirst. At times it was endearing, though now it's more of a pain in the neck than anything else. He watches as the little one rushes through the grass, keeping up a steady pace, and the color drains from Lux's face when he notices Meowstic run straight into someone else's leg, immediately cuddling it.[break]
"H-Hey!" He reaches down and grabs the Meowstic. Sirius mewls, making grabby hands whilst Lux sighs, an apologetic look befalling his expression. "S-Sorry about that — "[break]

Born as the second child to two Pokemon environmental researchers, Lux may of been born in Galar but he grew up in a variety of enviroments due to his parent's travel work. He especially loved exploring the great outdoors with his big sister, Camillia. Lux had excellent grades in school, and was socialable with lots of his old classmates despite almost always being away with them for work. His most stable companion was none other than a male espurr, who he found foraging for food in his family's garden. The two had an immediate connection, and Lux named him "Sirius" after his favorite constellation. [break][break]

When Lux's family moved to Kalos for good his old schoolmates were heartbroken, but supportive of him nonetheless. As Lux grew up in Lavaridge, with Espurr and the newly obtained Fennekin by his side, Lux realized that he wanted to be around Pokemon forever. He loved Pokemon with all his heart. And so he dreams big, wanting to become a Pokemon Ranger to protect not only the enviroment his parents studied for decades, but Pokemon themselves. [break][break]
