Lux stifles a snort at the Toxel who sleeps away the day. “It’s alright. I find it cute.” It vaguely reminds him of his own Pokemon who couldn't’ stay up past certain hours. Even as a little Espurr he had loved his sleep. Meowstic goes back to his pile of snacks after the kind offering, now ignoring Shiro, it’s just how he was sadly. A bonafide glutton. Lux, thankfully, is the one with manners![break][break]
“Strange little one, isn’t he? You wouldn’t suspect he’s the one that accompanies me on all my ranger missions.” Of course, he’s in the process of training a few other Pokemon for specific missions, but Sirius is always with him, for better or worse. [break][break]
“But yes, I would like to work together sometime! I try to appear upbeat, and while there is some truth to it.. I’ve been finding it difficult to find someone to work c-consistently with.” He admits bashfully, expression subtly shy to match. "Of course, outside of being co-workers.. I think being friends doesn't sound half bad. Wouldn't you agree?"[break][break]

As Alexei reached out for some dessert, a white paw seemly appears out of thin air. Then, several macaroons were swiped off the platter in the blink of an eye! Though there's no room for mystery, not long after the culprit is raised up in their trainer’s arms. A kind expression settles on his face.[break][break]
“Oh, here’s our table! Good work, Sirius.” Lux smiles and takes his seat. Sirius, his Meowstic, sits on the table with his collection of sweets, happy as a Shellder.[break][break]
“Sorry for the wait. It g-got more crowded than we anticipated. My name is Lux. It’s nice to meet you.” His violet gaze then travels over to the darling little Wooloo. How cute.[break][break]
“I was a bit surprised how welcoming and inclusive this event is to Pokemon, well- not that i’m complaining. Are you a trainer as well then? Or is he more of a pet?”[break][break]

Once again the spotlight has called to them. Who was he to deny it’s call? Lux appears on the beautifully lit stage all alone. His outfit is stunning, nothing short of what a prince would’ve worn in the ancient days of Renaissance Kalos. His attire glows snow-white, subtle pink itched in to highlight and a beautiful flowing clip-on cape drapes down their broad shoulders, like a river of sparkling lavender.[break][break]
Letting the mystery of it all soak in to the audience, the hands behind his back reveal two tiny Moonballs between his fingers. With a quick press of a button they increase in size, and they’re promptly flung to the air as a white glow lights up the sky. Splendous decals of pink and orange shower down on the audience as Meowstic and Braxien descend gracefully onto stage. But, what’s this?[break][break]
It seems their appearances differ! On a closer glance, Meowstic wears an Espurr-style hoodie over it’s form, while Braxien adorns a cloaked hood which resembles it’s past evolutionary form, Fennekin.[break][break]
Lux claps his hands, requesting silence amongst the excitement of the ever-curious crowd. He hums, voice clear as a ringing bell whilst his gaze looks over the sea of people. [break][break]
“Since the very beginning these two have been by my side, alongside each other. Although they’re quite close now.. That’s not how it always was. This is a story of beginnings, and I hope you’ll listen!”[break][break]
Lux fades back into the darkness of the stage as the spotlight shines fiercely on the two. However, his voice can still be heard![break][break]
Perfectly timed, Meowstic’s mouth moves to the sound of Lux’s voice. A blue paw points forward, accusatory:[break][break]
“I don’t know who you think you are. But I was here first! I’m Lux’s friend!”[break][break]
In an eerie glow Meowstic stares down the female fox, glaring hard, leering through her very soul.[break][break]
“What’s this? A Fearsome clash of personalities is at play!” Lux interjects giddily, then allows the story to continue.[break][break]
Braxien huffs and approaches the Meowstic, practically touring over him. All at once her claws elongate and glow, then in a blink of an eye. Swat! She swipes right at the pesky feline and Meowstic pretends (but very convincingly!) to tumble backward.[break][break]
With the pride of a Pyroar, Braxien smiles, smugly at that. “Better get used to me, little kitten! Because Lux is my friend too!”[break][break]

Agile fingers work on writing down all the necessary information needed in the span of seconds. Seems like working for his father all those years had its perks! Then, her words make him pause as he goes to put away his ipad. Shining ranger spirit? Does he really appear like that to other people?[break][break]
The voice of her praises reach Lux. They smile sweetly, full of joy and warmth. “Thank you, Luka. I.. hope so too.”[break][break]
Sadly all good things must come to an end, and the loud ringing of the timer signals that very moment.[break][break]
Though, what an absolute curveball she threw at the end there! Boyfriend, huh? His carefree smile remains as he stands. “Hm? Oh, no worries. But rest assured I'll be holding you to that promise.~”[break][break]
Lux goes to retrieve Sirius, who puts on an immature display of ridiculous cat noises while dramatically clinging to Miss Luka’s clothing. When he finally pulls the little bastard off of her, the pesky Meowstic is held like a sack between his arms. Problem solved.[break][break]

The next spectacular had to blow them away. Although, this would prove to be quite the challenging prompt indeed. Given his previous past filled with nothing but uncomfortable silence, to use his voice in such a way is clearly out of his comfort zone. However Sirius was his guiding star, and would pave the way for sure, just as he always had. A true testament of their tight-knit bond.[break][break]
Lux clears his throat, perfectly and professionally enunciated for all to hear.[break][break]
“As beautiful as they are stars don’t shine, they burn. Sad as it is, they are not an eternal beauty. So, we should cherish them for as long as they are with us.”[break][break]
As the applause dies down the lighting shifts, that intensity from before all but gone and forgotten. Now, Lux purposefully inserts himself in his beloved little constellation’s spotlight, something his partner had been silently encouraging him to do for the longest time. Moon meets sun, though not a single eclipse is to be seen on this stage, for they shine together.[break][break]
Violet eyes stare into those of pure aquamarine, and they meld together, two beautiful together hues as one. In that moment, Sirius’s voice sounds out to the crowd, just the right combination of melodic and mechancolic.[break][break]
Lux’s eyes close as they sing in perfect sync to Meowstic’s tune. Soft and deep, together, their voices are a perfect soothing clash to behold. Trainer and Pokemon in perfect harmony.[break][break]
“At first sight, I felt the energy of sun rays. I saw the life inside your eyes.”[break][break]
Meowstic continues supplying calculated power to the song, twirling while his dress sparkles in the centered lighting. Together, they burn. Gradually, like a gravitational pull they dance closer to one another, skirting close but ever so far. Then, toward the song’s end where they finally meet face-to-face Lux props down on his knee, finishing the last of the chorus with every ounce of grace one could effortlessly muster.[break][break]
“So shine bright, tonight. You and I, we’re beautiful like diamonds in the sky.”[break][break]
Meowstic’s round fades in with the natural decrescendo. Then, Meowswtic hops forward and nuzzles into Lux’s arms, caught in a twirling, wholesome embrace. It's unplanned, but still perfect all the same.[break][break]

As they talk Lux goes to pull his I-pad out of his shoulder bag. Best to jot down notes of this conversation, better to be thorough than unprepared after all! He ponders her latest suggestion. [break][break]
“Hmm.. The contest hall could work. It’s big enough to fit Pokemon and large numbers of people. If not, I know the Lilycove Department and Mauville City might be willing to reserve some space if we want to go a bit smaller, but still spacious enough to fit in everything we’ll need.”[break][break]
He blinks, then smiles reassuringly at Luka and also Sirius, who’s purring contently in her lap. He’s going to be so sad when their time is up. Honestly, Lux will too. They enjoy her company.[break][break]
“No no, It’s not a problem at all! You’ve been an amazing help, Luka. I couldn’t have thought of this on my own. So if you have others who could also assist us that’s even more helpful.”[break][break]

“You’re correct.. It definitely wouldn’t hurt to have more people on our side, given the times.” They sigh.[break][break]
Sirius cuddles right into Luka as if it’s the most natural thing in the world, meowing out pure bliss, extremely unprofessional. Sometimes Lux humorously wonders if he prefers her over his own trainer until it isn’t funny anymore. But, back to more important matters at hand. [break][break]
He’s heard of similar events held at the Pokemon Centers. Lots of displaced Pokemon from the chaos in the Hoenn region. Many in need of good homes. It was like tackling both problems at once, which he greatly appreciated being able to do. Benefit both Pokemon and man. Violet eyes shimmer at such a beautiful thought.[break][break]
“Yes! That’s brilliant, Luka!” It’s as if his whole face lights up, attention wholly grabbed. “That alongside recruitment event sounds perfect. We have a lot of displaced wild Pokemon as well who’ve lost their habitats. So I’m sure an adoption event would benefit lots of them.”[break][break]
Sirius claps in agreement. Thank you, tiny little business associate.[break][break]
“It would also shed light on how not only we as people are affected during natural disasters, but the Pokemon as well.” He smiles softly at her, eager to get the ball rolling. “How would we go about organizing something like that?”[break][break]

They’ve made a habit of running into each other at uncommon places as of late, haven't they? Regardless, Lux is delighted to see her all the same. The warmth of familiarity from her hug melts against his skin, yet passes all much too soon. It’s unfortunate how these “speed dates” didn’t last very long at all..[break][break]
“I know, it’s not my usual thing e-either.” He laughs gently as he takes back his seat. “But I thought it would be a good opportunity, nonetheless.”[break][break]
His business sense wasn’t as refined as his father’s, still Lux wanted to try and make the best of things, better the ranger’s image in whatever way he could. Sirius meows happily at both Luka and the little Togepi next to her. He smiles and lightly boops Toffee’s nose.[break][break]
“I figured good publicity can help the rangers in whatever way it can. Mostly in the sign-up department. It never hurts for the region to have more rangers on hand, after all. Would you be able to help me with that?”[break][break]
