Being called "cute" goes straight to Meowstic’s head as he adorns a big goofy smile, blushing at the pretty lady. Never change, Sirius..[break][break]
“It’s nice to meet you both! And ah.. m-more or less.” His cheeks tint pink. “I’ve been trying to meet more people in all honesty, I don’t know too many people in Hoenn here.” He fetches a heart-shaped cookie off the table, handing it over to the enamored Sirius so he’ll stop staring at the poor woman. [break][break]
Lux chuckles, bashful. “But if a spark of romance happens I might not turn it down? I’ve mainly been trying to find connections as a ranger.”[break][break]

Once again his glutton of a Meowstic ate all the food off the table, which is why Lux finds himself at the dessert table to fetch some more (for himself, not the little gremlin of a cat he calls friend.)[break][break]
He bickers softly with his Meowstic as they reach the table, unknowingly bumping into a woman. He nearly mistakes her for someone else he’d seen previously that day, but quickly realizes they aren’t the same.[break][break]
“Oh, no worries. It's a bit crowded so I understand bumping into people now and then.” His violent eyes glance over to the Delphox, a different color variation leaves him in awe. “Wow! A shiny Delphox. What a beautiful Pokemon.”[break][break]
The Meowstic on his shoulder meows, reaching for the heart shaped cookies on the table. Lux sighs and pets the back of his head. “I’m Lux and this is Sirius. It’s nice to meet you both.”[break][break]

Fortree Rescue and Treatment Sanctuary? Now he’s definitely interested to learn more. Anything that benefits Pokemon for the better really he’s very interested in. Before he can say anything more the sound of the bell ends their date. Seems like Lux also shares the sentiment of good things coming to an end much too soon. [break][break]
“It was nice meeting you too, Alex. I’ll be in touch then!” Lux smiles, then goes to check the back of the card as the other departs out of the picture. He reads it for a few seconds, before flushing bright tomato red in realization. [break][break]

While Lux doesn’t claim to be the epitome of grace, the woman before him leaves them a bit speechless. ‘She’s beautiful,’ he subconsciously notes, before tuning back into the conversation.[break][break]
“Ah! Yes, I-I am. Fortree division, for now.” Lux sits down, smiling shyly. “It’s nice to meet you both, Cielo, Zahra. My name is Lux, and this is my partner, Sirius.” [break][break]
The male Meowstic sits on his lap, ignoring the conversation as he shamelessly reaches for more treats. Lux gently swats his hand away from the plate of sweets. Sirius then meows out, happy to introduce himself once his mind was off food and centered on the pretty lady before him! Their wacky dynamic never failed to amuse the people here.. [break][break]

Impatience led nowhere, especially in the story telling scene. A rushed story is no grand tale at all! Though thankfully, the next segment led to a breakthrough of a positive kind, one that would hopefully excite both audience and judges alike. [break][break]
The curtains unfurl to a scene of Sirius and Braxien seemingly in yet another Texas standoff. However, upon closer inspection, it only seems like Sirius is the one with the problem! [break][break]
“Today’s the day I surpass you!” The eager “Espurr” declares, prideful and unwilling to lose this time around. Braxien merely smiles, twiddling the stick in her paws, waiting for him to show her what he’s got. [break][break]
The spotlight centers on Sirius, who on cue, discards his Espurr cloak, evolving to “Meowstic” in the midst of his declaration of revenge. Bringing white paws together, psychic energy begins to form. Then it grows, festers, until a mighty PSYSHOCK hurdles itself at full speed toward the fire fox. Braxien twirls her magic wand of wood in a perfect display of dexterity, conquering up a FLAMETHROWER within seconds of the PSYSHOCK unleashing itself.[break][break]
The two fearsome powers meet, clashing fiercely against one another, beautiful arrays of pink and gold encapsulating the space. But in the end, it’s the flames that are extinguished first! Meowstic is finally victorious over the fire fox, and the feline can’t help but leap for joy. [break][break]
Just as he goes to rub it in her bratty face, Braxien approaches Meowstic first, graceful as can be. Meowstic growls, immediately goes on the defensive, right up until she — hugs him!?[break][break]
“Congrats, little kitten! You finally caught up to me!”
Braxien nuzzles against navy blue fur, which greatly flusters the feline. She pulls back, gently bops the top of his head with her stick with a kind smile, no animosity to be seen in it’s curves.[break][break]
“But! Time is of the essence, you still have much to learn. But! I will be there to guide you every step of the way. Now, are you up to the challenge, kitten?”[break][break]
Meowstic stares back, large, teal eyes gleaming with awe and wonder. Delighted, Sirius leaps forward and hugs the taller fox. In fact, he’s so overjoyed to have won and been recognized, that they both begin to levitate off the ground for the briefest of seconds![break][break]
Lux smiles. [break][break]
“And so, the fox and the kitten finally come together and see eye-to-eye.”[break][break]

Lux learns a harsh truth; that all those training seminars meant to prepare him for these disaster scenarios, are nothing compared to the real deal. When the text alert goes out to all rangers, he’s not sure whether to consider himself fortunate or unlucky when he happens to be nearby to assist. Regardless duty calls and Lux charges into the fray, hectic as it may be, and “hectic” doesn’t even begin to describe the hellish chaos that unfolds before his eyes. [break][break]
The fear charged in people’s screams, the sound of decaying structures collapsing around at every corner. This was no simple wildfire, and Lux’s ire grows by the second at who could be so heartless enough to attack a small town community without any regard for life. Somebody malicious, that’s who. Just when he goes to head the other direction toward a gathered group of injured people, a flash of pink hits past his peripheral, a beauitful hue forever ingrained into memory. His heart nearly stops beating in realization. [break][break]
“Luka?!”[break][break]
The next thing his eyes visualize are that lovely face of hers, anguished and in danger, engulfed by pillars of flames. An image grueling enough to scar anyone. But Lux had no time to feel irrational fear.[break][break]
He runs toward her direction before he even processes that his legs are moving. By the time he reaches the place in question, a little girl clings sobs and clings to his waist, no doubt recognizing the safety of the ranger symbol hanging off his arm. Despite the dire situation Lux smiles, patting her head.[break][break]
“You’re safe now. It’s going to be okay — ”[break][break]
And when the frightened child mentions a woman still trapped inside, well, his stomach churns. Deep in his heart he just knew it was her. He quickly directs the little girl to join the group of townspeople not far behind him and looks the burning building dead in the eye, accessing the situation. The entrance is blocked completely by burnt wood. Thick, but not impossible to break through.[break][break]
He calls out two Pokemon. Meowstic and Starmie.[break][break]
“Sirus, use Psychic! And Starmie, Hydro pump!”[break][break]
Whatever that can’t be blasted into tiny smithereens by the pulsating force of water is lifted and crushed telepathically by the psychic feline. People would be surprised at how versatile Psychic types can really be in a pinch. [break][break]
With the entrance way no longer obstructed, Lux heads into the burning building, knowing full way it’s stability is wearing thin by the minute. Upon entering the smoke is thick and burns at his eyes, fire no longer at a gentle, smoldering kindle, but at destructive and deadly speed. Lux coughs into his arm, perseveres, and keeps moving forward. [break][break]
There’s a Numel crying in the corner of the room, and while they may like these types of environments, it was no longer safe for it. He sends Sirius to see the Pokemon out to safety, while Starmie stands stationed by it’s trainer’s side, paving the way with multiple short bursts of Hydro Pump. [break][break]
That’s when he spots luka chêne , coughing and kneeling on the burnt floor surrounded by a worried Brionne. She’s definitely weak, but still conscious. There’s no time to feel any morsel of relief, not like this, not when both their lives are still in danger. [break][break]
Without another moment wasted, Lux hoists Luka up and onto his back, instructing her urgently to hold on tight. There are no words needed between the ranger and fellow Pokemon, as they already know what to do. They pave the way with their water type attacks, everyone making it out in the knick of time. [break][break]
His ears pop. Lux doesn’t dare look back as the deafening sound of a collapsing home fills his ears, like large tufts of cotton. Sirius rushes toward his side and shakes at his leg, instantly recognizing the woman on his back and wanting to see her.[break][break]
Reaching his limit for that moment, scraped knees buckle into the burnt ground below as he gasps out for air, letting out a breath he hadn’t realized he was keeping in this entire time. Then, feeling a certain weight begin to slump off his back, Lux instinctively shifts and catches the woman in his arms, embracing her close without a second thought. Tears trickle at his irritated eyes, a trembling hand reaches out, secures itself safely in messy pink locks. [break][break]
“Y-You’re safe now, Miss Luka.”

“I can imagine.” he laughs lightly in response, clueless to the fact that he is, in fact, talking with a gym leader. [break][break]
“And I tend to hop between the outposts wherever I'm needed, but I’m stationed in Fortree a good portion of the time.” Their speciality was forest terrain, after all. He spent a good portion of his childhood with his parents in different types of lands. [break][break]
Lux also grabs a macaroon from the plate, one that matches his eye color, violet. [break][break]
“Braviary! That’s a beautiful avian Pokemon. I’ve never seen one up close before.” He smiles. “Would it be too bold to ask to see it sometime?”[break][break]

“Nice to meet you, Alex.” They smile. “A lap Pokemon, I see. Those are quite the cuddlers.” Lux chuckles at the Wooloo’s spirited bleat. How adorable! He reaches his hand over to give Sirius some pets, eliciting happy purrs from the psychic feline. [break][break]
“I’m a Pokemon ranger! And this little guy is my partner on just about half my expeditions. Although we’ve been together long before my career change.” Since childhood, in fact. While they may bicker, the two shared an unbreakable bond. [break][break]
“We also deluge in contests from time-to-time as well. Sirius loves the spotlight.” As does the trainer, but they’re too shy to admit such a thing. His expression brightens. “Have you taken the gym challenge, then? My hands are a bit too full to attempt it, but it does look interesting.”[break][break]

As Lux continues his search for a new Pokemon companion, the distant sound of rippling water catches his attention. Turning his head, he notices a small pond, and out of it, a Luvdisc emerges, poking out it’s head in curiosity. How cute! It vaguely reminds him of his friend, luka chêne, who embodies the color pink more so than he does. Unfortunately, it’s not quite what he’s looking for. So Lux gives the Luvdisc a passing wave and smile, before continuing on with his search. [break][break]

At long last the fated finale was upon them. All good things must come to an end. Still, it’s been an absolute thrill and Lux, victorious or not, is determined to show off his beloved Meowstic in an unforgettable, beautiful way! [break][break]
All the previous applauses thus far ring persistently in his eardrums, clear as a ringing bell, a sound that guides him to their last spectacular move, one to leave them all impressed and speechless. It’s now or never! Time to pull all the stops![break][break]
Sweat glistens off Lux’s skin as a hand quickly swipes over his brow. His normally calm soul burns with mighty fire, exhilarated and ready to begin.[break][break]
“You’ve been splendid, Slateport! Magnifique!!” Lux announces aloud, his voice charged with electricity and energy. Meowstic trills in agreement, climbing and hopping atop his trainer’s arm it’s outstretched toward the crowd, the harsh heat of the spotlight shines on them both.[break][break]
“And I can think of no better way to end tonight then with the raw beauty of a meteor shower.” He turns to Meowstic, their matching smiles downright radiant. “Shall we?”[break][break]
On their mark, Meowstic springs in the air and opens their folded ears, unleashing a powerful display of Psyshock. Impressive doesn’t even begin to describe it. Like fireworks on New Year’s eve popping off into the night sky, multiple rays of illuminating pink race fervently against each other. Heat accumulates in the air as the audience’s fever increases. Reaching their highest peak flashing pink beams come crashing down, loud bangs begin to reverberate throughout the stadium shortly after.[break][break]

Rays of magenta collide into one another, a collusion of utmost beauty one could create artificially in the span of seconds. Sparkles rain down on the people, adults and children alike rushing to grab hold of their own personal piece of the universe. While It may melt in their hands, the memory shall remain forever alive in their hearts.[break][break]
And at the very center of it all lies Meowstic, crashing back down to earth like a shooting star. Although Sirius cannot just rain down on the people, the next best thing is within reach.[break][break]
Lux grins, opens his arms wide as Sirius aims straight for him. The feline squeals the whole way down, landing into his partner’s arms as they wholly embrace. [break][break]
Their noses bump together as they giggle in unison. A job well done![break][break]
