In hindsight Eris made a good point. Johanna did not have a sygna suit, unlike the child, and so was far more susceptible to the environment, the toxins, and anything else down here.

Still, she forced a smile on her lips as she spoke. “Perhaps, but we can’t be relying too much on that suit of yours.”

A faulty argument, if not outright stupid argument, Johanna knew. But she had to seem strong. Besides, the radiation wasn’t so bad.

“I will. Don’t worry. I am fine, really.” Johanna assured as she let the Comfey fuss over her. It was a white lie, but she figured it would be better that Eris didn't worry too much.

Not even a second later she began to feel lightheaded. Her heart began to beat faster as a sense of being watched washed over her.

I am fine, I am fine.

She would remind herself as she began to mine. Only for her breathing to grow heavy and panting shortly after. Her knees grew weak, and so she fell to a kneel, in defeat, forced to take a moment to focus on resting.

Maybe I am not fine.

Johanna wasn’t exactly keen on being down here again. She had grown far too familiar with the Ultra Deep Sea and its inhabitants. Yet here she was accompanied by a child.

Honestly having a child here felt wrong. But, Eris Halla was supposedly a rather strong trainer. Still, this was dangerous so she tried to keep herself in the front as they approached the organ. She hurriedly stepped into the danger zone to take the brunt of the dangerous radiation.

In her hurry she forgot to make sure Eris didn’t do the same.

Johanna wasn’t exactly keen on being down here again. She had grown far too familiar with the Ultra Deep Sea and its inhabitants. Yet here she was accompanied by a man she knew only through reputation.

As the job description had informed, their purpose here today was to extract valuable resources from the area. But first they had to deal with the dangers of radiation. For the moment she kept outside of the danger zone, but she knew they had to cross into it.

Whoever went first would be taking the brunt, which honestly felt unfair to both of them so she turned to the man and asked. “Do you want to go in at the same time?” She figured the radiation would cause less problems if they stepped into the dangerzone at the same time.

Two powerful and battle ready Pokémon seemed to be on Jett’s side of the field. Powerful fighters meant Johanna had to take the initiative.

So while Jett was setting up she would instead give two proactive commands. “Thunderbolt and Sludge Wave!”

Each Pokemon was quick to jump into action. Crackling electricity ran over the Dragapult’s body as it took to the air before letting the THUNDERBOLT fly at the Aerodactyl.

Meanwhile the Nidoqueen did its best to dodge the unwanted affection from the Wigglytuff. With a firm swing of its arm it allowed the SLUDGE WAVE to fly, forming an almost crescent moon with the aim of keeping Wigglytuff away.

Future work planning had brought Johanna to Dewford City. Unfortunately her plans here had taken a few days by now, and it didn’t seem to be letting up any time soon. And so she had decided to use what little leisure time she had to swing by Navy’s Valor Gym.

The memory of their previous battle is still fresh in her memory. And honestly she could use a bit of that excitement.

And so with pep in her step she entered the blue building. By her side the Pokémon she would be using hovered along. The Claydol gazed around taking in the sights of the new location just as much as its trainer did. Though she did have to focus as she signed up for a challenge.

When all of that was done she would do as instructed whether that was going straight to the arena or wait her turn.

Johanna continued on her little tour of the Safari Zone. She followed the trailing water until she stumbled upon a Black and white Zigzagoon busy slurping from the stream.

The moment it saw her it forgot what it was doing and growled at her, taunting her, challenging her to battle. Johanna realized she could do naught but submit to this challenge, and so summoned her fighter.

A ghastly Sandcastle took to the field. Pallosand didn’t wait for any orders, instead it charged at the Zigzagoon, it’s sand spreading to dodge what physical attacks was thrown at it until it wrapped itself around the lowly creature.

The Zigzagoon yielded knowing it could not defeat this foe.

Fists flew like rapid gales strong river currents. Each fist slamming into each other releasing booms that echoed into the arena.

The Security barriers surrounding the arena shone with clearer intensity as their power level was increased the moment Shuwen began to change.

“DON’T GIVE UP SHADOW, I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT!” Johanna called out her heart beating with the intensity of war drums, as she felt her heart synchronize with the little shadow. Marshadow and Johanna poured their feelings into this match.

Shadow did not relent. It felt the bond it shared with Johanna strengthen with each blow. Almost in a manner akin to something supernatural. For those whose attention hadn’t been taken by the Urshifu’s new form, they might notice temporary glimmers of green and yellow trying to paint the otherwise black shadow.

But the form didn’t quite settle, the Z-power not quite there. The G-max rapid flow did not give the energy purchase to settle, and so through an arduous battle it began to gain ground. Marshadow’s punches grew weaker until one last strike from the Urshifu sent it flying.

With the speed of a flying bullet Marshadow flew through the air dragging along with it a strong air current before it slammed into the protective barriers which began to crack and flicker as the projectile Marshadow nearly broke it.

The audience erupted into cheers and boos in equal measures. Those who loved Navy’s display showered him with praise and those who loved Johanna and her fierceness were quick to defend her standing.

Johanna was left panting, heavy intakes of air tried to fuel her body through a sudden bout of fatigue. With a shaking hand she recalled the Marshadow into its Pokéball. She made note of the cracks in the barrier and realized, she needs to find some means to make it stronger if she were going to allow challengers to use Mythical Pokemon like this.

She returned her attention to Navy, making her way to his position. She retrieved her badge case, picked one of her badges out from it, and placed the badge case back from whence it came. Before she would offer the badge to Navy with a smile on her lips and a few words.

“That was quite the battle! I hope it was as fun to you as it was for me. Here is your reward.”

Free of the Minior, Johanna had plenty of opportunity to gaze upon the greatness of Mikky (2) admittedly she was surprised when what was held forward was a Snom, not because a Snom was weird. In fact, Johanna approved of the choice.

“Oh he definitely is!” She figured it didn’t hurt to play along with the kid. She admired the Snom for a moment before stepping back, she took a quick reaffirming look over the situation.

The Minior seemed alright. And she didn’t want to impose on the woman and her child’s leisure time. Luckily she didn’t have to think of an excuse to leave as her Dragapult began to nudge against her, pleading for them to leave.

It had better things to do that spend months captured here.

MISSION: MINIOR MAYHEM

Johanna accepted Megan’s answer. She offered a truth in her words, though it was only just that. A singular answer to a binary question.

Each and every day could be their end, worrying about it too much wouldn’t do anyone any good. But Johanna wouldn’t push the issue. By now, she had realized introspection didn’t come easily to Megan, and so what little she offered was accepted.

Speaking of Acceptance, perhaps the two blue Pokémon were starting to come to an acceptance of each other. Wary as they had been, it was clear both trainers were getting along. So, ever the outgoing sort, or so it liked to claim, the Blastoise grumbled a simple question at Lucario. How did you meet your trainer?

As Johanna walked ever onward, the sound of gently running water caught her attention. She walked closer, and noticed a group of Schooling Wishiwashi having the time of their life in their own little stream.

She decided not to disturb them and moved on. After all, she wouldn’t be a particularly nice individual if she ended their fun prematurely, would she?
