The knowledge of having someone so important to you that their safety is paramount to your own; the sudden realization brought upon by possibly almost losing them; the chafing sensation of Andres having been here, been in this rut, this chasm, having these feelings and not being able to do anything with them, until he had to 127 Hours his own arm off just to keep living.

If there’s one thing Lucan had in spades, it was tenacity. Not brains, for sure, or really even loyalty, but an unassailable will to keep going. Onyx would say it was bone deep but Pinsir are invertebrates.

Unfortunately, the Absol’s mounting luck was still building. They managed to dodge out of the way of Lucan’s attack, turning on their heels to deliver a sharp claw to the face, slashing across Lucan’s eyes. Fur got stuck in his chomping maw as he drove forward with superpower, throwing the last of his energy into one final attack.

Onyx had been in too many of these to truly believe this was going to be a three attack victory.

Lucan’s guillotine was deflected by the crash of psychic energy. The Pinsir dodged to the side, keeping his momentum, and as he ducked his head and went to vital throw the Absol, Onyx touched the mega-stone in his pocket, powering up the mega evolution and hopefully giving Lucan the oomph he needed to finish the bout.
