While Cathrine hadn’t intended for her statement to be perceived as an invitation, she certainly didn’t mind the suggestion. Alas their conversation was for a brief moment interrupted by the sudden appearance of an Amaura.

Cathrine and Gardevoir sought cover from the hail. In the process, they stumbled upon a Frosmoth. Annoyed by their sudden appearance and awakening her from her slumber, the Frosmoth wanted to do naught but battle them. But Gardevoir sensed the hostility and acted first.

Using its PSYCHIC power, it grabbed a hold of the now flying Frosmoth and slammed it to the ground to assert dominance. The bug tried to fight the weight of Gardevoir’s mind. But found itself outclassed. Not wanting to see the Frosmoth further hurt Cathrine threw an empty Pokéball at it. Hopefully catching it.

Only then did she notice the end of the hailing. Gesturing for her Gardevoir to fetch her Pokéball when the capture had finished, while she rejoined with Cade. “I say that sounds like a wonderful idea.”

Team Rocket finally decided to cash in on the connections she had made with them. Not that Cathrine minded. The pay was fair if she succeeded. And she had been in quite the rut lately. The mission was simple. She kept going over the plan again and again. As she made her way up the stairs to the entrance of the Slateport Oceanic Museum.

Or rather it was not Cathrine Fisher that was currently walking her way up the stairs, but rather Amelia Whitmore, a fake identity that she had carefully crafted alongside the cover story, which was something as simple as being called in to handle some tech issues.

A well-made wig of long blonde hair currently covered her otherwise dark blue, and contact lenses were changing her eye color from a greenish to pale blue-grey color. A nerdy pair of round glasses rested neatly against the ridge of her nose.

Her outfit was rather bland for what she usually wore, but it had to fit the nerdy IT persona she was wearing. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately depending on who you asked, she was still filling it out rather well. At her side rested a laptop bag, machine, and equipment inside, and around her neck was an ID card, which would confirm her identity.

As she entered the Museum’s entrance hall. She took stock of her surroundings. A few guests, and a perky receptionist. Nothing too difficult to deal with, but she took her sweet time to play the unsure IT person for anyone who might be watching her.

Cathrine chuckled heartily as Cade made the promise. While it had been a potential issue to take into consideration. She did not think her signature so wanted that it would increase the value of one of her books, at least not within her lifetime.

Alas, their conversation moved on. Cade once more found himself in the presence of a Swinub as he spoke. He caught the poor thing rather easily. She gave him a small polite nod and a smile before she spoke. “Oh, I am sure you’ll be interesting enough with or without your secrets.” As they said, it was not the story that made the man, but the man that made the story.

The situation with Nidoqueen soon warranted some small measure of attention from Cathrine. However, she noticed that hers weren’t the only eyes that were upon them. A Vanillish had found the little group. With a wicked smile, it considered its options of fighting or not, but in the end, it thought it unwise and left on its own.

Neither Cathrine nor Gardevoir intended to pursue it. And they both stayed oblivious to the attention that the Dragapult was giving them.

She sent him a pleased smile as he asked for a signing when he bought his copy. “I most certainly will.” She gave him a small nod. She had no reason to deny him such a wish. Even if she had her doubts that he would even remember it by the time the book would be published.

Alas, their conversation was once more interrupted. She watched as he handled the Pokémon that more directly tried to interrupt them. Though she did spare a thought for the Gardevoir that she had sent to deal with another one of many a wildlife.

“Ah, a memoir.” She repeated. Though he mentioned other projects as well. She figured if he had wanted to share information about them, he would’ve mentioned them in more detail. Her eyes gazed down the path that Gardevoir had taken, she wondered whence she would rejoin them. But felt enough confidence in her Pokémon’s fighting prowess to continue with the conversation. “Now I must admit, you have me curious. But I shall refrain from asking into the details of your past. I will instead await the publishing of this memoir of yours, and I hope that I can get a signed copy as well.”

Cathrine would be right in her assumption. The Gardevoir handily beat the Gabite and caught it too. Alas, she would not know peace for long, for as she was about to turn back. A Nidoqueen joined her. The Gardevoir looked curiously upon the bipedal blue Pokémon. It GROWLed at her. Then tried to use its claws to SCRATCH her. Alas, Gardevoir saw through these common tactics easily and squashed the opposing force with ease using her PSYCHIC powers until the Nidoqueen lay on the ground knocked out.

Alas, the Gardevoir had no more Pokéballs on its person, and so decided to drag the Nidoqueen with it, as it returned to its trainer Nidoqueen in tow.

Cathrine looked surprised. But before another word could be spoken. Gardevoir simply gestured for another Pokéball to be thrown at it. To which Cathrine nodded, and obliged thinking no further of it.

It pleased Cathrine to hear that he was more than happy to have the company. A slight tilt of her head and small raise of her eyebrow announced Cathrine’s surprise as Cade revealed himself to be an Author. She noticed how he got closer for a brief moment before offering to lead the way. An offer she was all too willing to take him up on, as she politely gestured for him to lead the way.

Not long after they had begun to walk, Cade inquired about the details of her project. “Hmmm, how to best summarize it.” She pondered out loud, before finally settling. “My current project is a story set in the Early-Hisuian period about a young woman left to fend for herself after the unfortunate demise of her family. I know, not exactly inventing the wheel here. But I am hoping that I can put my own spin on it” She glanced at Cade trying to gauge his reaction for a short while before returning the question right back at him. “And what about you? Are you currently working on any projects?” She returned the question.

Meanwhile, as they walked Gardevoir sensed the presence of a predatory gaze from one of the many side-paths in the cave. She gestured for Cathrine, who promptly handed her an empty Pokéball and a nod. The Gardevoir then went into the path where it shortly after would be met with the sharp edges of a Gabite’s claws.

Luckily she was prepared. She danced out of range elegantly before summoning forth a sphere of pink swirling energy which she hurled at the Gabite. The MOONBLAST flew quickly and struck its mark true. The Gabite fainted. Gardevoir sighed, in disappointment. She then proceeded to throw the Pokéball, trying to catch the Dragon Pokémon.

Cathrine listened with great interest as Cade explained his reasoning for being here. Searching for old Runic symbols, drawing maps. It all sounded so tantalizingly fascinating. Just what she needed to get the creative juices flowing.

Alas before she could ask further the appearance of a Crabominable disturbed their conversation. While Cade seemed to have the situation under control. She turned her attention to her Gardevoir who had just caught the second Pokémon. She fetched the two red-white spheres from the ground. Though as she bent back up, she saw a Hippowdon. It glanced at her and then walked on. Not interested in starting a fight. Neither was the Gardevoir and so she walked back to her trainer and handed her the catch.

Cathrine gave the Gardevoir a small appreciative nod. And returned her attention just in time to hear his question. “Oh, I am afraid my reasons are not quite as interesting as yours. I am currently experiencing a case of writer’s block and figured that I might find some inspiration amidst nature.” She explained politely.

“I must admit your purpose here sounds rather fascinating. Would you mind if I tagged along?” She sent Cade an inviting smile, hoping that it would help in convincing him to let her tag along.

Cathrine gave a light polite chuckle at Cade’s lighthearted statement. She noticed his accent but decided it was a topic for later.

“Thank you.” Cathrine gave him a small smile, only fitting the compliment given. The Gardevoir gave the man a small acknowledging nod as well. Though did not attempt to take the spotlight, instead quietly gathered the Pokéball which now contained a new occupant.

“It is a pleasure to meet you, Cade.” She made sure to pronounce his name appropriately. “My name is Cathrine.” She stated politely, noticing how he straightened his posture, though she was unsure whether that was because of her or the fact he just caught a Pokémon. “So, if you do not mind me prying. What brings you here, Cade?” She questioned.

Meanwhile, the Gardevoir had been halted in her progress of reacquiring the Pokéball. A Claydol suddenly appeared laying claim to the Pokéball which lay upon the icy floor. Gardevoir tried to telepathically ask the Claydol kindly to forego its claim. Alas, the Claydol would do no such thing. Sending out a wave of CONFUSION towards the Gardevoir. The Gardevoir parried the wave of energy rather swiftly using its PSYCHIC energy.

Caught by surprise the Claydol was incapable of manifesting enough power to deflect the wave, and so found itself pushed up against the very same wall the Abomasnow had fallen to. Before Claydol could do any further attacks, Gardevoir used a menial amount of mental energy to pull an Empty Pokéball from Cathrine, quickly throwing it at the Claydol and initiating the capture process.

The fight was over, Totodile had won, but at what cost. It didn’t know, but probably about a several hundred PokéDollars. It didn’t matter. Totodile was the victor of this scene. But it would not celebrate, no, it would stand solemn, for right now, was not a time of comic relief, but somber melancholy.

The fight continued between the Princess and the Villain. Cathrine tried to be careful, she did not wish to harm the woman, just as she hadn’t harmed her with the whip. One good punch at the pressure point caused a crack.

Eve pretended to stagger. Cathrine pretended to be shocked as the girl lifted her head revealing what the hair covering the crack on the mask had kept secret. “No… It can’t be.” She allowed the shock to be the main focal point in her voice. Eve continued on her declaration, just as the villain was meant to do, before taking their leave with the help of the shock.

Cathrine was left in the rain, the camera at first focusing on her, before panning out as her shock settled in. The sad music would be added later. She would play out the rest of the scene, looking out towards where the Villain had escaped, cursing her own inadequacies, and so on and so forth.

The fight was heating up between Totodile and Noivern. As with the two humans, their fight was reaching its peak soon it would be over, but that didn’t mean they couldn’t add a bit of theatrical flair to the fight. Still, it couldn’t look too easy luckily, Totodile didn’t have to act. Not expecting to be hit, the Totodile took the Moonlight without thinking much of it, only to feel the brunt of the attack.
Surprise smeared upon its face, it quickly tried to hide it as the fatigue of battle against this villainous Pokémon. But its acting was medium at best. Still, seeing how the Noivern was increasing its power, so too did it figure to do the same. Water welled up from within it into its mouth before it released it in a Hydro Pump aimed at the Noivern.

While the two Pokémon were getting their acts on. Quippy comments and righteous proclamations aside, Cathrine had considered it odd why Princess Sapphire turned silent for the later part of the fight. Maybe it was because the character sensed something was wrong, maybe it was merely inconsistent writing. Who knows.

Had Cathrine not read the entirety of the script, she might’ve found it odder than it already was. But she knew why, and it would soon be revealed. The next slew of attacks was aimed, not at the rather striking appearance, but the villainous mask for the climactic revelation of the villain.

Cathrine knew nothing of her fellow co-star’s inner deductions about her. Nor did it matter if she did. She was here to play a role and so focused on doing that. Another string of words riling words from the villain meant to agitate the hero just enough for them to catch the next punch. A heavy thud as palm met fist, as the villain did just that.

Cathrine acted surprised, though she knew it would happen sooner or later. This was the time when the battle would momentarily shift in the villains’ favor, the time for building the suspense towards the climax.

Totodile was growing more disappointed by the second by Noivern’s lackluster performance. Maybe it wasn’t easy for the human eye to spot. But his trained Pokémon eyes easily spotted when his opponent wasn’t putting their best effort in. Alas, the Melee would continue, though Totodile amped it up a bit, faster kicks, stronger punches, dancing the fine line between a great performance and small oopsie-daisies. The Director wouldn’t be mad at him for doing that, right? It would just make the battle more visceral, maybe even appealing to the more trained eye.

No hits, thankfully. She definitely wouldn’t have been able to keep up the act had she been whipped even accidentally. Still, she came closer and closer. Like the good Martial Artist which Princess Sapphire was supposed to be, she engaged in fisticuffs with the villain.

Alas her first attack was caught with by the hands of the villain before the evil monologue began once more. A resolute expression formed upon her face. Pretending to be caught by the moral dilemma that she was given. Luckily the script had given her an answer on which she could rely. “Kill you? Oh, that’s mercy you do not deserve. Oh no, you will face the judgment of those you’ve hurt!” She heroically proclaimed before she tried to throw another fake punch.

Meanwhile, Totodile found himself in a melee, caught between his natural urge to not hold back, and the script requiring him to time the fight somewhat alongside his trainer’s scuffle. He had to admit, this was far much more work than he’d usually do, and he couldn’t help but wonder if the Noivern felt the same.

For a short second Totodile was unsure if it had hit the Noivern, it hoped not. Luckily the rebound made it clear that Noivern was no worse for wear, at least for now. Though it breathed a mental sigh of relief, this was no time to get out of its role. And so focused on pretending to be hit. The script had stated it was a close fight after all. Gasps of pretend pain was made as the Totodile went on to take the Wing attack, in the process trying to spin a pretend Low-Kick of its own towards the Noivern. This would be a melee for the ages!

Meanwhile, Cathrine was making her way toward the villain (Evette) but she had to admit, this costume certainly wasn’t meant for any sort of acrobatic maneuvering. But she managed somehow all while making sure to avoid the whipping, though she knew Evette wasn’t trying to hit her.

Now atop the wall, she stood in front of Evette. Evette made some villainous remark, and as the dutiful hero princess, Cathrine made no quips. She was meant to appear serious in the face of danger for this scene. And so the whipping began again, she would try to dodge as gracefully as she could while she charged fearlessly forward even when the whipping though at this range she was a bit scared that it might hit her, she hoped Evette knew what she was doing.

A line well delivered by Evette. Cathrine reacted accordingly keeping up her heroic appearance even when the whip cracked, though she knew that crack wasn’t dramatic enough.

The next series of lines were delivered perfectly. The appearance of the Noivern became known to them as it used this Dark Moonlight. The Totodile companion would turn around, just in time to jump in between the princess and the monster attacking them. Totodile would be hit by the evil power, fall to the ground dramatically, and cue suspenseful music which would be added later.

“Toto, Noooo!.” She delivered the line with all the fear she could muster as the ‘princess.’ Just in time to pretend that the whip hit her, though it certainly got close to doing just that. She allowed a pained grimace to spread on her face as her free hand would cover where the whip would’ve hit.

The Totodile pretends to be knocked down for just a suspenseful second longer. Knowing that up until this point the movie had tried to make the viewers love the little thing, and now they had to be afraid he could be gone. But then, just as the tension would be at its highest, the secret power of the companion was revealed. A white glow emerged over the Totodile as it fought its way heroically onto its legs before charging towards the Noivern, pretending that it was going to hit it with SUPERPOWER.

“See, even your Dark Moonlight can’t stop us! We will stop you!” She proclaimed. And as the script said, now was the time to try and reach the villain, and so she charged toward the villain, aiming to use the trash bins to get up there in a feat of acrobatic prowess.

Lights, camera, action!

Cathrine looked up upon the villain who claimed to have the high ground, and she did have the high ground by standing upon a wall. Masked as the villain was her voice still reached down into the alley where Cathrine stood, by her side her trusty Totodile. Both had assumed their respective role, her as the beautiful, adventurous heroine Princess Sapphire, and Totodile as her trusty animal side-kick. She had been dressed in an outlandish attire meant clearly to appeal to a certain demographic under the excuse of high-class-princess-fashion, and her Totodile wearing a fancy bow tie because that made sense. She wasn’t about to argue with the person in charge of this movie project.

A drizzle helped only to add further emphasis on the bleakness of the situation the movie tried to paint, and like any good hero she would meet the situation with a look of heroic defiance upon her face as Evette in the role of the villain continued with her villainous threats!

“Well, you better enjoy yourself while you can! For I will NEVER surrender and I will do anything in my power to stop you!” She spoke the line with as much fervor as she could muster, though she thought it corny to the point of overly dramatic. She defiantly stretched her arm in a long overly emphasized point.

According to the script, neither the Hero nor the Totodile was supposed to notice the stalking monster company coming from the other side of the alley before it was too late! And so both Cathrine and Totodile kept their attention on the Villain.
