It sounds heavy and exhausting, and for once, Tam can sympathize. The Mantine probably suck at surfing because they're tired of having people standing on them all the time.

”Fuck my life.” Is what Tam mutters under his breath the moment static fills the air, recognizing it as the telltale sign of a space-time distortion being about to appear. Sure enough, the skies darken, unusual pokémon suddenly materialise out of thin air, and people begin to panic.

”Closest exit to the left. You might wanna get Xiura and Nomi out of here.” Tam tells @marshall, calmly reaching into his pocket to retrieve his Ranger armband. It’s gold, the colour of a captain. ”Noah, help me with the crowd. First priority is evacuation.”

With instructions having been given to and with his armband now in place, Tam gives Marshall a pat on the shoulder before simply nodding in and ’s direction. From two green pokéballs, a Chansey and Snorlax are released, and just like he had done with Noah, Tam is quick to give instructions to the pokémon:

”Chansey, SWEET SCENT to draw them to you. Snorlax, you handle the rest.”

They move away from the group, his job as a ranger coming first and foremost. Cantankerous wild pokémon are dealt with to clear a path for the crowd, one of them being a huge bear-like creature. Ursaluna, as League scientists have apparently named the species.

Tam decides to keep that one for himself, and by the time he makes it out of the venue, he looks rather dishevelled. Still, Tam being Tam, he’s composed as ever.

Mantine Surfing is the sort of thing most would expect someone like to love, given his personality. But, no, apparently he has a grudge against it or something. Oh well, that's not Tam's problem.

His line tenses while listening to Noah and . He says nothing about it. He reels and reels and reels, and not once does he complain about how strong this fish seems. He's unfazed.

"Really? Huh... Surfin's been okay for me." Is all he says just as a Gyarados bursts out of the water, serpentine figure towering over them and sharp fangs waiting to bite down upon them. A Gyarados, regardless of size, should probably not be underestimated.

Tam whistles to wake the Yamper that had once again fallen asleep under the sun, and with gleeful steps, Clover approaches the edge of the dock and hits the wild Gyarados with a WILD CHARGE. Just like that, the Atrocious Pokémon disappears under the waves.
