Sheba's not often cautious.

In fact, she's usually laid back when walking around. After all, there's little to worry about after the events of the meteorite. Her lips curl into a small frown as the two walk further down the path. They're almost home, and that means she wouldn't have to worry about anything else lurking in the night (although if she has to be honest, the scariest thing in the dark would be the faint flicker of flame from a charizard's tail).

A louder, crackling flame can be heard deeper down and, immediately, the charizard stands in front of the trainer as it stands before an infernape. Ah, yes, it's this. This is exactly what she was looking for - something that shined so brightly and burned through the darkness. This was a muse that she needed.

The trainer is so focused on her own muse that she doesn't realize the infernape flames up, curling up in a FLAME WHEEL towards the white-haired woman. Her charizard perks up, immediately, claw glowing with an AIR SLASH at the ball of flame to knock it out of its path.

Sheba perks up, realizing the danger, watching as the charizard dashes in for another AIR SLASH at the infernape. "Haruto!" she calls out, only grabbing the attention of the lizard after he's landed the blow. It brings the monkey pokemon to the ground.

The woman's eyes narrow, glancing to the darkness, however turn their attention back to the flame atop of its head. After a short moment of deliberation, she pulls out a pokeball, and tosses it. Her other hand reaches up, gently stroking the snout of the brooding dragon. "Thank you, but please be less violent next time."

if she wasn't careful, the charizard would have gone and started burning another thing in its path - this time a merciful cuphant. the little guy is minding his own business as he waddles around, although the charizard is kept on the leash of his trainer's hand. a soft hum and hush comes from her lips as she raises another hand, patting the top of the jumpy dragon's head.

"it's alright." she reassures him, watching as he takes a deep breath, then relaxes. he's like adele when she starts to get nervous, or begins to have an anxiety attack (she's always been shy around other people), yet like huxley int erms of his response (he'd always find something to fight, always find a reason to attack, and she has to wonder why he would).

"we're almost home, alright?" she hushes the charizard, leaning her head to rest against the orange lizard. "we're almost home."

the charizard doesn't wait for her command.

when he sees the scizor, he's immediately on guard, ripping out a strong, searing FLAMETHROWER at the steel bug, mercilessly burning its steel carapace, forcing the pokemon to suddenly retreat. sheba, who stands by the lizard, raises her hands to gently press against the dragon's side, in a soothing manner, lowering her voice into a low hush.

"sh, shh, haruto.." a blue gaze is lowered as the dragon's head cranes downwards, in both shame, and embarrassment. "i'm not upset." she clarifies, with a soft hum. "but not everything will be out to kill you, alright?"

haruto huffs, with what remaining pride he has before raising his head back up, and as they continue to walk down the path. sheba's still worried, though, so she holds the charizard's hand (claw) with one of her own, keeping to hold, leading it like it's the child that it is. "come on, no more attacking unprompted."

it's been a while.

and it was a quiet christmas, and a silent new year. usually it'd be more rowdy, but she can't find it in herself to enjoy the icy season with her houndoom still encased in ice. lately, she's been busy drowning her days away in work and, though her children worry, she still does what she can to tend to them as their mother. 'mother is alright', she tells them. 'everything will be okay', she explains, as she still clears her schedule as she grieves over the ice statue that is now her hound. it's still cold to the touch, and she wonders if he's still alive in there.

but the world doesn't stop when your dog dies, so she has to continue on. today is one of the few days where she's coming home late, but the kids were already put to bed by the baby sitter, so it shouldn't hurt to wander a little bit more. there's a charizard at her side, craning his head over to peek at the woman's shoulder, and she smiles as her hands gently rub the dragon's maw. "i'll be alright, love." she hums, though the overhang shadow beneath her bangs betrays her tone.
