A late delivery in Rustboro had left her still wandering the streets long after the sun had set. This wasn't particularly normal — willow atkins was usually really good about her hours — but Camille had offered.

[break][break] But she hadn't realized that the delivery would've led her on a wild goosechase that spawned into the dark hours of the night. Eventually, she did find the customers just in time for his girlfriend's anniversary and their smiles had her efforts all the more worth it. Before she returned back to Fallarbor, Cami stopped at a store on the way that she knew sold the freshest bluebelles and lavender.

[break][break] Starlight twinkled ominously as the city's uneven lanterns swung, casting uneven shadow upon the path that she walked.

[break][break] She hadn't expected a man to run out of her, out of drunken stupor.

[break][break] Startled, the plastic bag full of flowers fell out of her grip and she staggered. "Huh - " She blinked, looking at the handsome man, before shaking her head. "No, it's okay. I'm fine." She leaned down to pick up the bag again, inspecting the stems to make sure they were okay, before an disembodied voice spoke out from somewhere.

[break][break] "You... uh, that wasn't you, right?" She turned nervously to look at him. But based on the confusion on his face, that didn't seem to be the case.

[break][break] then, something like a laugh fluttered forward. like a butterfly with wings, a giggle tumbled out of her lips.

[break][break] "fine," she said, with a huff. her lip stretched into a smile. "whatever you say, boss."

[break][break] they agreed to meet in the town square. with the sun setting, cami waited by the town's center water fountain dressed in a sweetheart black dress and a witch's hat that she purchased from the internet. she'd asked henry booker to help her pick out the outfit — though he was little help, since he said that she'd like nice whatever she wore.

[break][break] the young woman waved as she saw her highschool friend slash benefactor — fallarbor's local florist had offered her a job since cami had been back in town, and she'd been working there ever since. though, this was the first time they'd really get a chance to talk. even though the invitation had been sent to willow, it was cami's idea to help her friend get a night on the town.

[break][break] child free and boy free. (did willow always have so many guys hanging around her?)

[break][break] also decorated for the event, her skiddo leaped ahead. entangled in his coat were golden sparkles, as well as sun, moon and gold stickers that matched the cresent-moon shapes that were dotted beneath the rim of her witch's hat.

[break][break] briar trilled before butting his head affectionately against the florist when she neared.

[break][break] "glad you made it," cami said, grinning.

"you didn't!" she huffed, puffing her cheeks out playfully, before settling into a smile.

[break][break] she seated herself on the nearby counter, waiting as henry set up. she leaned into her hand, gaze affectionate as she watched him walk around the kitchen. she always loved to see him work.

[break][break] cami leaned over the counter, propping open one of the jars to pull out a saltwater taffy. she unwrapped it gently, popping it into her mouth for a burst of flavor.

between the two of them, camille considered herself the confident, witty one. henry was easy to tease - he always had been, ever since they were kids - and she'd always been quick to dish it out.

as they wandered up to henry's house, a burst of nostalgia flowed through her. it had been so long since the last time she'd seen it.

aww, henry was so cute. especially when he got like this, earnest and heartfelt.

[break][break] a pearl of laughter fills the air, pulled from her throat.

[break][break] "lumoise city. the university too. but you'd like places like geosenge - just really big spaces, and really old stones."

[break][break] as they walk towards the dairy aisle, amber eyes fall upon the eiscue keeping the eggs and milk cold. "aww," she cooes. "henry look! aren't they cute?" she tugs on his shirt, pulling his elbow towards the aisle.

[break][break] but - professional as ever - henry has places to be and things to do. she busies herself at looking at all the pastries as he gets the rest of his groceries and -

[break][break] "woah!" her eyes grow wide as saucers before a smile lights up her face. "thanks!" she bites off a piece of the ice cream bar as she hands it over to him, savoring it with delight as her eyes briefly flutter shut.

[break][break] "oh?" she says, blinking up at him. "sure! i'm free. what's up?"

[break][break] they start to head over to the cashier aisle, and she helps him place his groceries onto the conveyer belt.

camille remains oblivious as ever, even as the baker pops up behind the counter and gives henry his dozen. she seems even - perhaps - jubilant in comparison.

[break][break] almost as if she's taking some secret pleasure in her best friend's embarrassment.

[break][break] "flo!" cami chides her eevee, because seconds after henry placed him in the basket, he immediately began doing the exact thing that he was told not to do. the fox-like pokemon pouts, ears flattening against his head, but listens as they began rolling down the grocery aisle.

grandma had her go grocery shopping, and since today is her day off work, she's more than happy to oblige. camille and her eevee walk through the double doors of the supermarket, filled with the sharp scent of fresh fruit and vegetables, totally intending to make a bee-line for grandma's list but then she gets distracted by some flowers.

[break][break] camille perusing the petunias when she hears a familiar voice. suddenly, camille turns around, dress twirling, and her eyes glimmer brightly as she spots her childhood friend not but a few feet away.
