This is not some grand gesture. It’s not a PR stunt, nor is it her having suddenly decided she’s a particularly charitable person. This is merely the fact that Fae often goes for hikes near Fallarbor, and when doing so she had had a few chats with some of the farmers in the area. She has gotten to like them enough that when she heard that one of the farms had been broken into, she had wanted to help.

”Aren’t you supposed to be a ranger?” Fae asks the pink haired woman when she states that she doesn’t know where to start looking. An eyebrow is raised, caring little for how accusatory she sounds as she stares at the other. The farmers had said a ranger would be coming to help, so she had just assumed.

She sighs, turning her attention to the Herdier. She crouches down in front of the pup, offering it one of the treats she had brought for her own Mightyena.

”That could work, he probably knows the area better than anyone and can find the Mareep for us.”
[break][break]
Fae stands, and after some consideration, she reaches into her pockets, retrieving a Dream Ball from which she releases the much larger canine. The Mightyena lightly wags its tail, greeting both the stranger and the familiar Herdier.

”Ready to see an spectacular show?” Holding a microphone, Fae Madden smiles at the crowd that had gathered by the enormous tank, causing cheers to erupt amongst them. She had been invited to be one of the event’s presenters, her presence clearly being used as a way to draw people to attend. It had worked, especially because she had agreed to signing autographs once the show ends. ”Remember, all proceeds from today will go to helping the migratory pokémon that have been affected by the dome!”

Dome. It’s all so foreign to her, like speaking a different language. It’s part of the reason why, once introductions are over and she steps off the stage, the façade fades away, and with it, her smile does as well. The truth is that she cares little for this sort of event, but Fae Madden is, above all, an amazing actress.

At least now she just gets to sit and watch her Skrelp have fun in the water, since she had also agreed to have one of her pokémon participate. She sighs, not paying much mind to whoever sits next to her just yet.

The Zigzagoon’s ears perk up when hearing someone step into the building, wiggling in Fae’s arms in an attempt to get a look at the stranger. Fae herself turns then, and although the pokémon lets out a sound akin to an excited bark, her own expression isn’t nearly as pleased. Her gaze may be the colours of the sun, yet there’s something terribly cold about it.

”Huh, so you’re the ranger.”

Obviously handsome, obviously tall, and obviously oblivious.

”They asked me to help look after the pokémon until they’re back, don’t worry about it.” She smirks, although her coldness remains. Fae would never buy a story like that if someone told it to her, but apparently that’s how trusting people in Hoenn can be. The thought crosses her mind that if she were a criminal, she could easily use this to deceive them and steal some of the pokémon in their care. No wonder Team Rocket had broken into this place.

”If you’re also here to help with the pokémon, they’re out back.”

Just like that, she turns away, expecting him to follow her into the outdoor playpen where the pokémon await.

What the hell is this bug-crab-thing? It doesn’t look even remotely close to any of Fae’s other pokémon and it smells just as unfamiliar. It has mushrooms on its back? Is this some sort of costume or disguise or deception of some kind? Is this thing really into Halloween or something?

Lipschitz would assume as much, but then it goes on to offer him a mushroom. The Purrloin visibly scowls, but instead of hissing or anything of the like, he goes on to slap away the offering. It falls onto the cushioned floor and from up where the kitten sits comes a chuckle.

Fae crouches down by the flower patch, her forearms resting on her knees. Even during the day, the glow of the crystablooms is obvious and as alluring as can be. A delicate hand reaches down for one of them, marvelling on how soft the petals are compared to the sharp edges of the flower’s hearts.

She’s not the only one allured by the flowers, though…

”Rat!” Her Chatot warns her, fluttering its wings while still perched on her shoulder.

”Rat?” Fae looks around, spotting a shy Cincinno among the bushes. She rolls her eyes once she’s certain that the wild pokémon won’t be attacking them.

A hand pats the spot on the rock next to her, as if inviting him to take a seat. Black polish coats her nails.

In the corner of her eye she can see the scarecrow-like appearance of a Cacturne, but it’s currently too far to be a concern to both her and the Mightyena that also looks at the stranger.

Fae is much more preoccupied with her question at the moment.

A half empty glass of martini sits by her side, her sixth or so – she has lost count by then. It’s a miracle that her outfit is still intact, especially her thigh high stockings. But, then again, maybe it isn’t… she has also lost count of how many people she has ignored when asked to dance. It’s not her sort of scene, but “people watching” can admittedly be interesting…

It does look pretty damn cool. Even Fae would agree. Fire is just a good show, you know? And, in the end, given the combination attack, the Zweilous clearly finds itself overwhelmed despite its resistance to flames.

Crying out when the Typhlosion clashes against it, it attempts to BITE once more, only to find itself grabbing onto a mouthful of flames. It falls back, pained, and that’s that.

The referee calls the fight soon enough, and Fae just shrugs.

”Not bad, pretty boy.” Is the only thing she says to the stranger after calling her Zweilous back. At least it had been fun. She doesn’t need the money, so she doesn’t mind not having won the fight.

”Oh?” She hadn’t intended to make a sound, but you know, it happens. The smoke does catch her by surprise, and it also makes it so she can’t really see what’s going on with both pokémon. This also seems to be a problem for the crowd.

What they can all hear is the Zweilous roaring in displeasure when it breathes in the smoke, and after the Typhlosion rids itself from it, it thrashes blindly. The smoke has dulled its senses. How can it find its opponent if it can even smell them?

It can hear them, though. The moment the Typhlosion makes a sound, the dragon charges once more, attempting to TACKLE its opponent.

The Zweilous, left to its own devices, is quick to take advantage of the Typhlosion’s proximity and do what it does best: BITE. The right head latches itself onto the Fire type’s shoulder, and the left one attempts to sink fangs onto its arm.

The crowd cheers, clearly enjoying the violent display.

Fae doesn’t make a sound. She barely even reacts. She just reaches into the pocket of her hoodie and pulls out a pink pokéball. From it, a roaring Zweilous is released. The crowd seems to like it, judging by the cheers. If only they knew that she just caught the poor thing last week.

Obviously, since she had decided not to talk, she’ll let the Hostile Pokémon do as it wishes, and in this case, apparently that means charging towards the Typhlosion with a HEADBUTT.

Fae has been to Alola before. She has lived there for short periods of time, given that it’s often chosen as a shoot location and what not. She’s more than familiar with it, and she absolutely has watched more than one wrestling match during her time in the tropical region.

This is nothing like those matches. This is a small fighting ring down in Slateport’s lower district. So, why the hell is she here?

Well… Maybe Fae has a certain appreciation for gratuitous violence.

For the sake of going unnoticed and not ruining this experience for herself, she wears a baseball and a large hoodie when stepping closer to the ring, since let’s be honest, it’s not like anyone in Hoenn will bother with looking beyond that anyway.
