The Kyogre moves through Sootopolis. And nearby, the horrors persist. Genny has to justify herself in why she let a man fight three-on-one alone. The Dragon of Ideals, with its chosen Avatar Remiel Calcifet, is left to fight alone. He could bear the storm, he was an Avatar, right? No. Instead, it feels as if Kyogre has not even been affected. Her efforts are for naught, and all she has to think for it is that she let them get hurt.[break][break]

She hears Sheriff Navy's words. They need to help the innocent. The injured. The ones she forsook to challenge the gods. Instead of helping, she aimed too high, and with wax wings she falls as they melt away by her own hubris. It culminates now in this moment.[break][break]

The Origin Pulse comes. It targets a wide spread arc. Hazel eyes watch it come in slower, slower motion. Her eyes lock on. Councilwoman freya morningstar is devoured. Rayquaza isn't enough. Sootopolis drowns.[break][break]

'MOVE,' she screams in her head. Her legs buckle and break under the exhaustion. 'MOVE,' she internally roars, but the fatigue shackles itself around her ankles like a ton of lead. 'MOVE!' Bulu turns their head to see her legs locked down. Her Milotic begins to move. 'SASHA!' And then from their balls, two more. Her Zeraora. 'KY!' Her Hisuian Goodra. 'BEACHBOY!' All three move to protect her. All three are too weak from their duel with Hitoshi Inoue to contend. Three pairs of eyes will fall, never to open again.[break][break]

They all smile back to her. A silent goodbye. The price she pays again and again and again.[break][break]

"I REFUSE TO LOSE ANYONE ELSE!" she forces her feet forward with everything left she has in the tank. She is no Avatar. She is no god. She cannot contend with those who are. It was a sword that left her nigh slain. But she leaps forward. Ahead of them. She won't lose another one of them. She races for the ORIGIN PULSE herself, to take it for them instead. She keeps her feet planted, her arms ahead of her face. All three yell back in their native tongues.[break][break]

Her legs give out. Her eyes burn. It hurts all over. Genny is shot outwards, northbound, falling into the waters below. With her plummet comes the crash.[break][break]

For a moment, in the waves... it's peaceful.[break][break]

BULU watches Genny plummet. The rest of her Pokemon follow after. But Bulu eyes the Great Dyna Tree.[break][break]

Ah. How relieving. Genny can feel herself sighing in relief. But as they are make it backstage, Crash following happily next to MC Pon and Sandy, Genny feels Andrea's kiss and declaration, and the redhead's face flushes.[break][break]

"It wouldn't have come together if not for your energy. You and Pon's!" she says so sheepishly, rubbing her neck before turning towards Shalin. She had looked lovely up there in her Sygna Suit, and the redhead couldn't help but take pride in her gang.[break][break]

And Crash too, of course. He looks proud of himself, hands on his hips. He had pointed to them with such excitement, his breakdancing, the gator was happily bobbing his head to the crowd.[break][break]

"We should try this next year too. The whole gang."[break][break]

The bends and turns of trying to save Navy are, by and far, draining. She doesn't have the strength to keep steady. That Deputy (Montgomery James ) there was handling the foe on the land now, so for the time being, she could focus. It's illeana reyes 's own powers that require fine tuning. Sasha thankfully, has a means to keep from treading water, and adjusts much faster than Genny. But it takes time. Time that, by all accounts, sees Genny tossed and thrown about the tide.[break][break]

She had to save him though. And she would, grabbing him by pulling her arm away to push it forward, and closing her fingers in a grip. She screams with all her might, and pulls him up to air, with every breath of air left in her burning lungs. And then...[break][break]

They resurface, hair matted to her face, when he tells her that they'll save those two. A man (Noel Parker ), and an unknown woman. And she nods, moving to get herself onto the Zacian, watching a hero provide a metal landing for them.[break][break]

"Right-" is all she can get out, seeing Zacian save kyle lopez 's Entei and those aboard, when she's thrown off of the Zacian, onto the metal.[break][break]

It's almost too much. Watching a love one bleeding out in front of her. He should be dead.[break][break]

Genevieve had seen it before she had been thrown off, in a moment of shock and horror. Someone who stood as invincible, strong-willed, and someone she'd follow, nearly taken. In moments, she finds her footing, not out of duty, but out of admiration and respect.[break][break]

"NAVY!" she's so fast to get to his side, she can't help but yell, and fall next to him. He would be okay... he had to be okay. She had to convince herself of that, because if he wasn't-[break][break]

Best not think of the what ifs. Navy sure isn't. Right now, he tasks her and Zacian to go and fight. He'll hold these up. But if he takes anymore, he'll-[break][break]

'Stop' she commands herself. Sootopolis is just the first, if this water basin of a city overflows, it'll spell tens of thousands of innocents dead.[break][break]

And he knows it.[break][break]

Without any restraint at all, once more does TAPU BULU force himself to emerge. Both their eyes meet. The bull snorts, and turns to face Kyogre, as Zacian races and WILD CHARGES the leviathan. Genny sees it too. A chance to fire back. The biggest threat right now is Kyogre. The threat after that, is Rocket, and declan walsh . She doesn't like that they seem prepared.[break][break]

Many over the few.[break][break]

"Bulu. Please, lend me your strength again," she holds her gloved hand out, the island bull spirit merely staring on, and huffing, as if to say just one more time.[break][break]

The bull snarls with a roar, and with it, Genny yells. "Subdue Kyogre!" Bulu smashes their hooves together, and throws both downwards at once, into the ground again in one more NATURE'S MADNESS, the pink particles from the ground firing upwards to strike at the leviathan.[break][break]

This way, she could take the next glacial spear for Navy, if she needed to.[break][break]

Chaos is everywhere. The storm whips around, the Kyogre's wrath made reality. Fear halts her advance, courage steels it.[break][break]

Every Ranger is given an order by ollie morales. When Genny hears it, her orders are changed. No matter how much this dragon-riding foe needs to be stopped, she would not disobey orders.[break][break]

She has to swallow her fear. Even if Rayquaza slams into the sea, and Rocket looks like they've gained the advantage. Even if a man with a Darkrai nearby (declan walsh) menaces from above to orchestrate this deed, it's all Genny can do not to shake at the foe before her. This wasn't like Hitoshi Inoue at all. This was pure chaos, and everything was threatened to be drowned away.[break][break]

There's no time to focus there. As Genny stands atop the cliff-side, the rising waters worse and worse, the orders to save the citizens, Genevieve's heart sinks, when the water is too strong. A number of League and Rockets alike, have trouble handling the tides, and one such is-[break][break]

"SHERIFF!"[break][break]

She's about to move, but she halts at Shred's words. First to Navy, with a confusing history lesson on former roommates. Then aimed at her on the nature of 'the right thing to do'. Genny's fists are clinched ever-so tightly, her eyes like two furious bursts of fire. Because everything he says is right.[break][break]

Bulu's hoof quietly rests on her shoulder, breath in, breath out, and the world slows down. She can see it.[break][break]

"We're not done here. Not by a long shot." With the assistance of the floating Tapu Bulu, she races to the edge of the cliffside, racing on down, intent to dive in after those swept in the current. Her intentions are simple: get to Navy, and improvise.[break][break]

"Sasha!" She returns Bulu while she has the chance, throwing out her Milotic, as she gets to the cliff-side, and alongside the water snake, leaps into the waters below in a wonderful 90 degree arc. Her hazel eyes are burning again.[break][break]

She hates she had to leave that dragon rider to their devices. But it's all she can do now.[break][break]

When she hits the water, Genny is in full search-mode, and holding onto Sasha, the duo race beneath the tide. Every second counts. Only thing keeping Genevieve up now is her adrenaline.[break][break]

Navy pushed her in a direction that made sense. She followed him before unflinchingly. That isn't changing anytime soon.[break][break]

When she sees him, her hand extends out, the weight of exhaustion bearing down on her. But she'll beat the tides. "SHERIFF! I got you!" No matter how heavy an impact, Genny will make it to Navy. She has to.[break][break]

Failure is not an option.[break][break]

The smile Rex gives her is mirrored back, and with the bow of the Iron Valiant, Balmung and Keanu do the same from their perk on her shoulders as Genny walks, and when Rex follows suit, commenting he could take the Crawdaunt, Genny responds.[break][break]

"I knew you could," she turns her head to look him over. No doubt, no lie, nothing to give Rex the wrong impression. She truly did believe it. He had the same look she did. He could've taken them out.[break][break]

"Maybe. But I believe that everyone needs a helping hand every now and then. They might've gotten the best of me, and then you would've come in."[break][break]

She doesn't have to look at him as she walks. She knew it was true. Inevitably, Hoenn should be able helping one another. A person in trouble could be saved by one hero, but a group of people can do so much more. Divided they cannot stand, but in unity, they can change the world. They can see the future they want to see.[break][break]

"And please. Just call me Genny." She turns her head, and gives him the biggest grin she can, as she tucks a strand of hair behind her left ear.

EARLIER[break][break]

Tapu Bulu sat before her, the grave made. A white egret orchid sits on the grave of two Pokemon, in a fight that meant everything to them. A memory to never forget those who helped her reached this. She limps to the beach, Tapu Bulu follows lazily behind, noticing Hitoshi Inoue first, a snort pushing orange-red hair over Genny's eyes. The bell rings, to gain Genny's attention, to let Hitoshi know of his foe's new friend with a thinly-veiled threat.[break][break]

Their duel had ended. With a hand clinched tightly on her other arm, as she looked on. The adrenaline hadn't yet fully worn off, but it was. The burns on her back were going to scar, and the many wounds she suffered needed treatment.[break][break]

But. Hitoshi was right. This wasn't over. When she turns to Tapu Bulu, and the bull would snort again. Tapu Bulu hated unnecessary violence. But Genevieve knew that she could not avoid this. If she laid down her sword now, she wouldn't be able to fight anymore. In one word, she responds to Hitoshi, returning Tapu Bulu to his ball, for now. Best to keep Rocket guessing her ace in the hole.[break][break]

"Deal."[break][break]

And that was that.[break][break]

NOW[break][break]

The journey was quiet, silence as Genny tried to push down the urge to surrender. She thought about her Pokemon she had left, how much energy in the tank she had left. But she had little time to think. Sootopolis was in the distance.[break][break]

Wordlessly, she departs from the ferryman, falling backwards into the sea, and sinks down. For moments under the sea, she felt peace in the violence of the turbulent waves. She could see the storm that brewed above, and the abyss below as its own endless ocean. She could let go now. She could rest her eyes. She could fall.[break][break]

The moment of tranquility can't last forever. What feels like an eternity goes by, when Sasha the Milotic is released, and Genny grabs on. And together, they split the other direction under the water.[break][break]

It's not long before she reaches the cliffside, and with it, the climb. Everything in her body is telling her to stop now, that she can rest, and she pushes against it. She races upwards, her Milotic following suit best she can, as the duo make their way up the cliffside, and reach the summit into Sootopolis. Like a scene from a nightmare.[break][break]

"No," she cries out quietly.[break][break]

She'd seen Kyogre well before arrival, but the horror of seeing the whole of Sootopolis flooding was something else entirely. Sasha cried next to her, as she gazed down towards the battlefield. A Lugia bathed in shadow duels the maddened Kyogre. A Galarian Moltres duels with Rayquaza, joining in with Necrozma, a memory of Andrea Vaneau at the beach resort burning into her memory. Fear started pushing through, laboring her breathing. Below, a legendary dog duels an apex dragon. All Genny had was one steely dragon, a half-dead thunder god, a cuddly water snake.[break][break]

And Bulu, who forcibly re-emerges from their ball, snorting at landfall, and staring at Genny. Eyes filled with a stone cold determination to fix things. Blue eyes that mirror hazel eyes. Genny smiles.[break][break]

"Let's go," she stumbles forward into Bulu's bulky arm, the bull snorting out once more, the hot air over her ever-lengthening hair. A challenge?[break][break]

The bull would stare on. Some woman was flying through the sky (Absinthe Blackwood ) southward. Violence was useless on her. She hurt no one, and therefore did not need to be hurt. For now.[break][break]

Tapu Bulu would instead help Genny back to her feet fully, patting her back.[break][break]

It's okay to go slow.[break][break]

All she wanted to do now, was to subdue. To defend. To be the shield. And now, she was needed. Some crazy dragon was trying to blast away at Rocket or League. That would stop now.[break][break]

"Take it down!" The roaring cry of the guardian deity comes, Tapu Bulu flexing its muscles, as it slams downwards with everything it has, the bull smashing both of those golden, cloven hooves into the ground to cause a NATURE'S MADNESS from the cliff above, intent to attack the Koraidon, and its maddened rider with a shockwave of pink energy, the pink bolts and energy intent to strike at it, even in its flying magnificence, right for Shred .[break][break]

She calls out from above. "Only false gods declare themselves so divine!"[break][break]

Genny doesn't need to win. But to give cover to Councilwoman freya morningstar , to the blonde (ana fell ), the black-haired man (Roy Aker ), and Sheriff Navy ? She can do that much.[break][break]

Tapu Bulu from behind Genny floats like a guardian, smashes their hooves together. They deem the Koraidon rider a threat, and are ready to throw down.[break][break]

Ollie is quick to get Gen out of there, and the redhead swings her head up towards the crumbling structure. The Drednaw is quick to respond, a ROCK TOMB to keep them both from a tomb. But it was another showing of why Ollie was a good Head Ranger.[break][break]

And every bit the hero Genny aspired to be like.[break][break]

Now in safety, Genny finally resurfaces, and the idea comes right away. Reaching into her bag, she tosses out Speedy the Shellos. "Help them reinforce it, Speedy!" The pink slug bounces, summoning up some ANCIENT POWER rocks to keep the structure from immediately breaking at focal points.[break][break]

Genny turns towards Ollie.[break][break]

"Can't be much further, right?" Important intel here in Sea Mauville in a computer room. So long as the room wasn't under water, they should be able to retrieve their intel. If that sunk to the bottom of the sea, there'd be no way to retrieve it.[break][break]

Genny wasn't letting that happen.

The Fletchinder would be seen by Genny, who was busy at work attempting her damndest to keep a group of baby Wailmer together. There were three, and as Genny would do her damndest, with a whistle-blowing Totodile constantly moving them along, more and more of Sea Mauville attempting to complicate matters.[break][break]

"Come on, this way!"[break][break]

And without any warning, comes the debris. The sound of metal bending far above. At any moment, the chamber she was in could submerge, which wouldn't be so bad, if the debris didn't threaten to kill the Wailmers like it did to their-[break][break]

Genny... didn't want to think about blood in the water. Seeing the fire bird as a distraction, Genny calls out. "Send help!" The uncomfortable bend from above gave them little time.[break][break]

Genny knew she couldn't do this alone.

All that Kirlia needed was a little push. The Crawdaunt falls, the knight has made its impact, and all Genny can do is wipe her brow. This was what it must have been like for kyle lopez. This is probably how it is for any Champion. To help. To assist. To nurture and grow. If Genny stopped the Crawdaunt herself, sure it would be dealt with.[break][break]

But it wouldn't be enough. Letting him get the drive to win, letting him emerge victorious, was its own reward.[break][break]

A hand to her hip, she bends a bit as she whistles. "Nice work! I'm impressed!" she calls out, and with the relaxation of the meddlesome Crawdaunt threat, they could get to the most important thing. "Now that you've won though, we need to get moving. Come on." She walks by the Gallade, a hand outstretched to pat the Gallade on the shoulder. A new knight, born.[break][break]

"Don't be too slow. Kay?" Balmung and Keanu were now on her shoulders, and Genny didn't bother turning back. Rex could easily defend himself now.

The giggling stopped as Shalin gave her part, and Genny grinned ear-to-ear. Her friend even used Sandy to chirp the background melody. It was wild, but Sandy was doing a fantastic job harmonizing to the words in the song! Shalin had it figured out![break][break]

By time the mic hits the stand for all three to sing, Genny would chime in, with Crash the Totodile providing nonsensical gibberish. But even so, Genny's voice helped pave that way![break][break]

“Charmeeeeeeleon, Wartortle[break]
Mewtwo, Tentacruel, Aerodactyl[break]
Omanyte, Slowpoke[break]
Pidgeot, Arbok, that’s all, folks!”[break][break]

And as the song came to its completion, Genny feels the sweat on her face, as she brushes over her face. Her eyes are on the people chanting, the bouncing of the audience, as... they yell for an encore. And Pon is quick to give them it![break][break]

Can't slow down on that! Moving to the side, Genny tosses up Crash. And instead of adding to Pon's solo raps, he instead begins to breakdance, spinning on his head. The little gator boy adds to the encore performance, MC Crash moving to the crowd to pog-point at them, to get them cheering on for Pon.
