ONE OCTOBER EVENING, sleep comes to you early. a seductive somnolence lures you underneath the sheets and plunges the heavy head into the void of a plush pillow. as your eyes drift to a close, you swear you see something. a black figure. looming at the foot of your bed with billowing black arms. then nothingness.[break][break][break]

and as swiftly as your eyes have closed, your eyes open. you're not sure where you are aside from "outside." it's cold. your skin is prickled with goosebumps, and you discover many others beside you on the damp, loamy earth. in this all-consuming darkness of night, you can only see the slightest outlines and movements of other figures as they rise, breathe and mumble in confusion.[break][break]

ahead, in the canopy of night, a full moon stares at you quietly as the chilling wind of an unfriendly forest bites your bones. you know it's a forest because the black trees extend into the moon's silver hoop. it's odd. odd that despite the dominance of the lit eye above, that the forest remains pitch-black.[break][break]

you will need a light source. your pokemon are with you. thankfully, you have some familiar company to stave off the anxiety of uncertainty, for after a little while, the earth begins to shift underneath you. something- no, some things course through the grimy dirt. burrowing in and out and across the entire forest floor.[break][break]

it feels like... large earthworms. clammy intestines. fleshy, muscled... and alive. too bad you can't see what they are just yet.[break][break][break]

with every post, please include a tl;dr of your character's actions. some posts may require rolls using the dice command.
ensure that you have updated your sign-up post with your 6 pokemon & their movesets.
please try to post for every round of posting. if you miss a few rounds of posting, that is no issue. however, depending on the mod post, the mod may determine what happens to your character should you miss the round.
missing too many rounds will result in lesser rewards or no rewards.
this is a horror-themed raid. if there are topics you would like me to avoid, please send me a message on discord or via messages.
this is a "death-enabled" event where characters and pokemon may "die"; however, in this event, the character or pokemon simply wakes up when "killed".

COSTUME PARTY EVENT

SOMEWHERE WITHIN PETALBURG WOODS, a large cabin has been selected as the place to be to celebrate halloween. set a couple days before the holiday, people from around the region have come here to celebrate the spooky festivities, especially since the bug population has been controlled by the bug catching contest a month prior.[break][break][break]

this thread is set in the middle of the night. the cabin has two floors and a basement, with the upper floor housing the private bedrooms. the first floor features the living room and kitchen, with a variety of beverages and snacks for the party-goers to feast upon. on the wall, above a grand fireplace, a large stantler's head is mounted. furthermore, a large campfire has been prepared out front for those wishing to brave the eerie darkness of the woods.[break][break][break]

lastly, this is a costume party. please respect the dress code![break][break][break]

it was so sudden. just after their gym challenge against Thomas Benoit . mateo martinez and kyle lopez were both sought and hunted down by an unrecognizable face. this face was but a whisper in the wind, one you wouldn't normally see in an everyday crowd.

they were gagged and tied by a capture rope, restrained through the art of hojojutsu. a bit much, but they'd find out soon enough that their captor wasn't exactly a normal person. he brought the duo to an area, guiding them by a single rope that tethered them together, that was just about near the base of mt. chimney. they were surrounded by nothing more than forestry. the air itself was humid. "here we are!" he'd remove their gag but kept the restraints on. he didn't need any violent fighters--mateo--slinging unnecessary hands his way.

the stranger would tug the rope, forcing them to fall and kneel before their captor.

the man before them possessed a covering over his eyes. he, then, spoke, "you're probably wondering why i brought you both out here by force? the option to talk to you like a regular person was there, but i heard, between the two of you, that one had a 'fiery 'personality and the other was a bit...'unmotivated'." the fiery personality, being mateo, was the reason for their gags.

"now, i know you have questions, but let me, personally, be the one to congratulate you both." they had no idea what he was talking about, but a specific blonde did. "so, per request, i'm here to oversee your training! we need to sharpen you both up for what's to come. i heard one of you liked to train, right? how 'bout it? don't you wanna get strong, and i'm not talking 'ace trainer' status--i'm talking 'elite'!" they didn't have much long, but a bit of crunch time was all he needed.

"rejection is an option." the assailant stated with a casual smile, "but that won't bode well for you both!" honestly, he wanted to find the other two. but he'd heard one of them would be more of a hassle compared to mateo or kyle. he rather not have to deal with four knuckleheads, he barely wanted to deal with two. no matter, he was going to do his job. "we're going to make you better than our current gym leaders that's for sure, we're gonna make this region great again!" an arm was risen into the air upon his rejoice. how would these two take it exactly?

a spectacled, sleepy looking man, dressed in all black, stares at the two intrusions. his marowak directs its flaming club at the two before twirling it menacingly, the heat from its ethereal flame flashing against their skin each time its gyration reaches close. as the fiery bone spins, the light from the flame also illuminates an alarming "R" on the man's chest.[break][break]

"can't have you two snooping around..." he pulls his glasses up the bridge of his nose.[break][break]

his marowak pounces on them. a purple flame gathers on either end of the bone, its ghostly colour flickering with a dramatic flash before growing in volume as the burning weapon descends upon them: SHADOW BONE.[break][break]

the ground suddenly quakes. from the groaning innards of the earth, an excadrill bursts from the ground, casting rocks and dirt from its whirlwind leap like hail. from the tunnel excavated by the excadrill's large claws, the poachyenas emerge. already, they're on the offensive. and they see you with their greedy eyes.[break][break]

one feminine gang member (#4) cries out to the rest of her comrades, directing a sharp finger toward the trainers. "don't let them get in the way of my hoard. i've already got one— and i'm not leavin' until i get a few more!"[break][break]

the gang members leap at offensive, casting at least a pokémon each out.[break][break][break]
